Actually Oil was a concern but not for the reason you stated Graven. The concern for Iraqs Oil was that Sadam would flood the market with oil at a price so low it would crack the market. Right now the notion of Oil is as a limited resource which is why when combined with the high demand the price is so absurd.

But if you flood the market with a large amount of the demanded product the end result is that prices will tumble precariously.

It was a failure of intelligence. We thought that Saddam had B.O.W's that he was willing to sell to terrorism. But Al Quaeda doesn't need those B.O.W's considering that they're network reaches as far as Africa. A continent with many diseases like Ebola, SARS, and Cholera.

Thank goodness we don't live in the imaginary world of Capcom's Resident Evil, cuz i will be afraid to even go out xD

If I'm not mistaken, didn't SARS originate from Asia? Guangdong Province of China, I believe.

And also. Be afraid. I read a while back scientists discovered something to due with zombification. I can't find the article, but there is experimenting.

those were just examples of deadly diseases. Africa was there, because it is a close unstable continent.

it wasn't a failure of intelligence it was deliberately misleading the public, anyone with half a brain knew it was a fabrication and said so at the time and of course were ignored by the mass media who went for the sensational story instead of the truth.

That's what failure of intelligence is. Gathering wrong intelligence from the wrong source, or blocking intelligence so that it doesn't get to the public. Twisting information.

Exactly its called lieing.

A failure of intelligence is what this ignorant Lunatic down in florida is suffering from. His idea of burning a koran on 9/11 is not only deeply offencive to me. but is almost certian to cause massive backlash the world over.

And to top it off the idea is a complete farce of hypocracy. Can you imagine the outrage if I held a burn the bible on easter day, or a burn the torah on sabbath day. Id have to hide for the rest of my life lest I be flayed alive.

And this lunatic wants to stoke a true religious war?????? Seriously how much more demented can you get? And to top it off none of the conservative republicans who could put a stop to this nonsense and all of whom claim they support the troops in harms way in the war they wanted and called for.

None of them have spoken out against this guy. They have remained silent inspite of General Petraeus's statement that this act will cause massive problems to the detriment of his troops and the mission.

Lying. Hypocrisy. They aren't a plague only to the right you know. Besides its changing subject you have to make a decision in your view, was Bush Evil? Stupid? Neither? It's hard to be both.

He simply believed into an idea that his branch was filled with. It is also a half-truth, Cheney had more to gain from the thinking that is being suscribed here.

It's an election year, pathetic really, there's no purpose to half the things they talk about, it's a distraction, everyone is guilty, the people who are voting are people who believe into an ideal or are gullible. I'm going to stand by my original theory though, neither party will do as well as everyone thinks.

Yet we need to respect his 1st Amendment rights, of freedom of expression, if you burn the bible or the torah no one is going to go after you, they will send you dead threats, im sure. Just the same dead threats that this pastor is receiving. But it is your right, just as the right to burn a flag of the US in US ground, as a freedom of expression, expressed on that flag. It is also a right for this man to express his views concerning Islam, by burning they're holy books.

Strange, do you have any idea what you just said?? you're asking for a WWIII. I agree with catsi. This guy is completely abusing his rights of free speech. What you just said is completely disrespective. You're not even trying to think in our positions. Lemme ask you this, may I call you racist? well, I can since the first amendment allows me to do so. (if I'm American BTW) if the first amendment allows us free speech, then we'd be calling blacks negroes & slaves. If the first amendment allows free speech then I can say anything regardless if its racist or not. (not trying to be racist here, I'm just trying to illustrate a point) do you get what I mean, I dunno if you're black or white (sorry if anyone is offended, again trying to illustrate a point here) but if you were & I called you negro what would you do? if I called you a racist white, what would you say? do you understand now?? there's a fine line between an appropiate free speech & non appropiate free speech. This is just the biggest moron in the world. And I agree with you catsi about the reps not doing anything about this. I'm starting to think the "R" in Republican stands for racists if the they keep this up. Mark my words, people another 9/11 will definitely come soon if you guys don't stop it.

P.S: to the blacks in this forum I sincerely apologize if I've offended you guys in any way. But I wanted to Illustrate a point. Again, I sincerely apologize.

Since when is it hard to be both stupid and evil?

If you want my opinion, Bush is an idealist. He believes (believed?) that things would change if he just wished hard enough, despite what others suggested. Stupidity isn't really the problem because it's more that he has tunnel vision. He filtered his news (and was proud of that?!) and again had it filtered by his staff because they knew what he wanted to hear.

And no, it's not something particular to just Bush, but he has been one of the worst presidents in that respect.

Cheney and Rove are evil. Cheney knew that the war in Iraq would take much longer than the Bush administration was projecting (or at least had said as much earlier, but maybe the decade since the first Gulf War had allowed the ideas of democracy to germinate). And he continued to lie about connections to al-Qaeda even after the rest of the administration had admitted they were wrong.

But all of that isn't what I was coming by to post about.

Hell has just frozen over!

Fidel is being a bit generous because he says that Communism "no longer" works for Cuba. It wouldn't have ever worked for Cuba if they weren't getting so much aid from the Soviet Union. But that admission is probably the best that we're going to get from him. He's pretty old and has been long invested in the idea. Hopefully, Cuba will start ramping up the reforms and loosening up the restrictions on business.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

It is because were Americans that we must protect the rights of every citizen to practice they're freedom of expression, doesn't matter how insulting it is. Everyone has a right to they're own opinions, anything else is simply tyrannical. Just like the Mosque issue, to try to prevent the building of a Mosque, is the same as preventing the exercise of certain groups to practice they're religion, but to stop protesters is also the same as preventing the exercise of freedom of expression.

Appropriate speech? You mean speech that the population finds appropriate? So i cannot drop the "F" bomb because is inappropriate, and if i do i shall be persecuted for a crime? Is that what you're trying to say?

Here's my problem with this, it's a big deal with the entire world. If it's true then people are too superficial. One guy with a 19th century mustache and 50, 50 followers, no one is saying it's a great idea. But if the rest of the world gets up and arms because some one ass in Florida does what he thinks, which by the way is pretty dumb, is enough to kill people then guess what I think the world needs a chill pill!

Should they guy do it, NO. He dishonors everything that's happened over 9 years. Can he do it, does he have the right to, yes. And if one idiot is enough to make people want to repeat 9/11 then what else will repeat because of being overzealous about it? It will be because people think a religion is higher then humanity and that is pointless.

9/11 was caused for what the CIA called "blowback" especially for actions against Iraq during the CIA illegal actions in 1992 and 1995, which destroyed a movie theater, and a schoolbus full of school children. That led to Al Quaeda retaliation for American actions in the Middle East, which in turn led to retaliation on our part with the first bombings of Afghanistan, which led to 9/11 which led to second bombings, which led to the Anthrax scare, which led to the invasion of Iraq.

Believed me, after the invasions of Iraq, and Afghanistan, as well as drone attacks into Pakistan, the films and pictures that have flooded the internet and the Arab media, will not change they're views of an invading force any different.

Look, I'm looking at it from a moral POV. Do YOU mind if Muslims around the world started burning bibles & churches?? if you had something to believe in, it's okay if other people disagree with you but to do something to that extreme, that's just crossing over the line. If you're an atheist, then it's no wonder why you're so damn blind about this. Religion for people who believe in it, is something much higher because there is always something with greater power than us. I agree humanity is important. But religion is also important. I'm the type to mix in religious & humanity values.

Also, did you even understand my post?? if free speech is like that, then the Civil Rights act wouldn't even be here today. People would just keep on fighting based on racism. Saying something like that is like saying the Nazi had a right in exterminating Jews.

Peaceably assemble There in bold letters.

if it wasn't for this Amendment, there wouldn't have been a Civil Rights Movement. The constitution is the supreme law of the land!

Your last sentence was uncalled for, but since you think im a Nazi by respecting people's right to peacefully assemble, something that wasn't allowed in Hitler's Germany, then fine go for it.

Oh and...yes Muslims around the world, especially radical Islamist burn Bibles and Torahs. Book burning is nothing new.

if it wasn't for this Amendment, there wouldn't have been a Civil Rights Movement.

I'm not saying that. If the Nazi was an American party then they would use the first amendment to justify their actions. If you agree with that pastor, that's the same as agreeing the Nazi had every right to exterminate Jews.

Do you think that Muslims are the same as Al-qaeda? news flas for ya. The answer is NO.

People have the right to peacefully assemble but if the assembly is to provoke by all intents intentional to provoke anarchy then that's just screwed. This man is promoting anarchy by all means. But at least now I'm glad that he has enough sanity to call it off.

Ehh, yeah he wasn't, that's why he was president tongue.gif

Now for a little bit of humor

How many liberals does it take to screw in a lightbulb? How many conservatives?

The answers that i found on the internet were really good.

5 Liberals
1 to buy the bulb
2 to decide the best way to screw it in
2 to blog on the Internet as to how evil Bush is

0 Conservatives
They don't screw, they believe in abstinence.

Taking me out of context. Did i say that Muslims were the same as Al-Quaeda? Im saying Al-Quaeda is mostly made up of Islam, not that Islam is made up of Al-Quaeda....seesh.

There was, and there is a party called the American Nazi party.

Even when it is insulting, we have to respect it, otherwise we would become that which we hate the most.
