Totally agree on Theory. Great acting but besides that it was more or less a standard biopic.
Nightcrawler was absolutely fantastic, check it out asap. American Sniper is really good, but I think it could have used more of a focus on the character's PTSD. Boyhood is a really good flick, but it's not what you would call traditional storytelling. It comes off more as a series of short films.
If you get a chance, also check out Wild .

Taken 3 8/10. The only reason why it's not higher is cause there's no one taken. Well...... actually. Nah, spoilers.

John Wick - 8/10
Not the best story but it doesn't really need a plot, one awesome action scene after another with great cinematography and music. Even though the story is pretty straight forward the world building in the movie is fantastic, it feels like a movie based on a comic or book. If you enjoy good action movies give it a watch.
Also the club scene was one of the best action sequences I've seen in a loooong time.

Gone Girl 8/10
Great acting, suspense and it was as disturbing as they tried to make it. Dat wife tho! Hinata should totally pull that stunt on Naruto!
Book of Life 8/10
I would've rated this 7, but because of the animation I just couldn't. The artstyle was amazing, and unique. The story was OK, although I thought it would have some major twist in the end but no. I am baffled that they tried to make Maria a feministic character, when all her badass lines and opinions were smashed by the conclusion of the movie. Oh well. It's kinda like what was done to Sakura. Her ambitions were so clear, yet she ended up in an apron!

Whiplash 8.5/10
Great villain. Yes, villain. Simmons definitely deserved to win for that one... It'll be hard to see him if he does reprise J. Jonah Jameson.
American Sniper 7/10
I was disinterested for much of the film. I'm not saying it's bad. Maybe it was a victim of high standards.
Next in the queue, Still Alice, Wild and Cake.

How to train your dragon 2 10/10- I know I'm very but I saw it on Netflix so awesome even better than the first one. I'm still crying manly tears about Stoick's death along with Hiccup's reunite with his mother. Hiccup/Astrid best pairing I've seen in a Dreamworks movie.
