You still got the manga....we are in a dark place..lol I suggest watching the anime first and skim the manga because of changes (not too big) and the order it actually goes in because I feel its faster plus the anime got great everything xD

I forgot Sunrise is actually a pretty good studio. I guess the idea that they're known for Gundam only comes around.

Oh they make fun of themselves in Gintama, they're really good with the animation, sure the openings are similar (Sunrise does the same with Gundam...) but still know how to be good and love how they don't forget any characters

As for Gundam, it's been a while for me. I don't know if the new one can bring back the old days (not counting Unicorn) so we'll see. Gundam series tried to target different audience and now, well, let's see where this leads to.

Holy crap, I should see that Anime Tour 2008 for my fix on the war. Oddly enough, my first time seeing the preview was the episode where they acted like it's a new movie. But damn, that animation. Which brings me this: now that I think about it, I know the series is pushing Takasugi as the final boss, but I think the one who pretty changed Earth should be showing up as well. Amanto took over the world, but why. I assume that they're the Government of today, so I feel like they will be part of the show soon (note: don't spoil. I'm only addressing my timeline). Maybe the one who took Takasugi's eye away is among them. I don't know.

 

The one thing I really like about this series is that there's a lot of exploration of the world yet leave things hidden, only to come out for the later purposes. For example, the 4 Devas of Kabuki District. The last one was hidden for whatever reason, and now, I am about to meet him, so the show didn't forget at all, even the possible background of him. It's like you have to wait and when you do, the result is great. That said it seems like it will apply to that time where they held a tournament where they kill people to become king. I remember not seeing the guy who is there watching it for entertainment, but now, I feel like we will see him in the future. Which means we will see more on the Government.

Glad to see you are enjoying, half of what you is kinda not right but you're on it especially with Takasugi, wait til you get to the manga.... The Four Deva arc is beautiful! Sorachi doesn't forget, it's the smallest and missables lines that become important later even though it feels like a gag episode, so don't think things are done without reason and all the gags are important
