Leaving Meiko anguished behind, Taichi and the others leave for the Digital World. There they met with their fellow Digimon, who lost their memories of everything that has happened so far. Even so, their ties must begin anew and the Chosen Children reach out to their affected Digimon. However, although Piyomon is the only one that evolves to his Infant level, he reveals how little he still trusts ... "I already told you, I do not know about this past you're talking about !!" As someone I had A great appreciation and with which he had previously sympathized, now a stranger, Piyomon suspected Sora's gestures of kindness. Even though she is hurt, Taichi and Yamato do not know what to say to help Sora. What should you do from now on in the Digital World? Before I can discuss this between them, Meicoomon appears ... and then disappears. Somehow, he has retained his old memories while he wanders sobbing and looking for Meiko-

Seeing the creature, the children's decision to travel to the Digital World to save Meicoomon becomes clearer. But then, the figure of a man formerly controlled by the Dark Masters appears before them.

At the same time in the Real World, Nishijima is alerted that Himekawa has disappeared. Investigating, he reaches the bottom of Himekawa's actions so far and discovers a goal that was hidden from him. And now, the adventure evolves once more ... "

I don't find Biyomon being mistrustful believable. After all, she was so attached to Sora at first. Yeah, some of these so called mature themes don't seemed to be that well handled. and like I said, unless they redo the whole adventure 02 ending I ain't buying any Taiora Ship tease and Mattora ship tease is whatever since they are married.

She was attached to Sora because she was programmed to be her partner. Now that the reboot wiped her memories they literally have to start with a clean slate

Indeed it is interesting, but it just could be a dream, Tapirmon. Looks like the sinopsis ignore Tapirmon. I am a little down because the plot could be a little more than just the Dark Masters in that case the the good side is OP while the bad side you well.. let see what happen.

Yet none of the others seem to be having that problem. so my point still stands. But never mind me, I am quite over cynical with this series sometimes. I love it none the less though.

Look at it this way. There reason biyomon is the only one reluctant to trust her partner is because Sora is the main focus this time. They wanted conflict so that when Biyomon reaches mega at the end it will be all the more emotional.

Yeah I know, I and that's good, honestly.  I just feel some of these more mature themes and sub-plots contrived and forced.

Is it just me but did the original director of digimon adventure  seems to hate popular tropes and cliches?  

 

I mean he seems to hate the saying "seize them" cliche, he called taiora a cliche, he didn't have a female lead that has a tsundere like personality, in the war game movie he had the enemy attack the tai and izzy digimon before they can transform to beat the enemy. He made sora and mimi less stereotypical from what i heard. Im not sure about characters getting side lined  and its only the mc and rivel that can beat the big bad cliche was still used or subverted? 

 

And for some reason he did not have takari end up together maybe he thought child friends to lovers was a cliche to?

 

Also subverting opposite attracts cliche? i could be wrong since mimi and izzy is a thing now and joe mimi has been hinted at.

But just because you avoid cliches doesn't mean it's a good decision. where do people GET the idea of cliche in the first place? it because it worked so well that lots of writers do it just because it's popular. the ironic part is that even though there are always critical complaints on cliches, how is it that those cliche's don't die down? Because they are still popular. So the next writer that says this  (cliche,ironically) line "I don't want to write a cliche story" rather than just say that why don't they catually put in an effort to actually make their un-cliche story and writng good. Prime example here ALMOST NO ONE was impressed with Mattora, and everyone wanted Takari. Well what have you got to say to that Kaikudo?

yup, Its not hard subverting a cliche you just got to write it well  like mc and herione not ending up together in mad max and pacific rim, star wars and harry potter. 

 

And from what i heard about hunter x hunter subverting typical shonen tropes.

 

I wonder why he didn't want joe and mimi to get together I think that ship had more better development than izzy mimi. Izzy/mimi is ok but now that im thinking about it it wasn't well developed as joe/mimi.

 

All digimon adventure ships are disappointing. maybe he thinks making a ship too obvious is also a cliche.

Yup Digimon shipping SUCKS. That is a rule of thumb.

 

And about Hunter X Hunter, it's not that it is subverting  Shonen tropes but rather it is deconstructing them

 

but anyway I just wish February was here earlier. Like I said the spacing between these movies is terrible
