- L'inguaribile ottimismo di un dodo.
Hungry for glory - AS Roma 1927
But they were all of them deceived, for another canon was made. In the land of Japan, in the fires of Studio Pierrot, the dark Lord Kishimoto forged in secret a master canon, to control all others, and into this canon, he poured his cruelty, his malice, and his will to dominate all life. One canon to rule them all.

I wonder how that series can sold out...
One Piece? Scary part is that Oda is friend of Kishimoto.

Ok, I'll ask the person later; however, I cannot guarantee that he will know the stats. He's simply telling me what he witnesses over there, which I still think tells me a lot more than a few stupid tweets translated by google.
From what I've gathered so far, many people are definitely unhappy and shocked about it. He said that many Japanese people are still very insular in their beliefs; these asspulled pairing did not sit well with them. Besides couples, we all know that Japanese people view mangas very differently than people in the western world since they are able to understand the cultural influences in Naruto.
I'm just gonna quote what the person said: "People Are just talking about how stupid and down to kitten it all just went. The story total deviated from it's core roots and foundation. Relegated naruto to a background character towards the last few chapters of his own story. This is the first time I have ever read an manga ending where the main character is just eye candy and a fixture in his own manga."
Apparently, some mangakas are going to redraw the ending- of course, not canonwise, but that tells you that even mangakas hated the ending.
Really ? Mangakas didn't like it ? Oh god I'm glad.
At least I'm (we are) not insane if japanese think like me (us). I have a STRONG japanese culture, and I read a lot of mangas, and it's the first time the story is deviating this much ! I swear ! I have never experienced something like that before. I'm so upset about it... It's insane because it's fictional but I can't help it...
I hope it will make a lot of noise, really. I hope Kishimoto will think about it. I don't even wish for him to draw an alternate ending, IMO, the story is ruined. It's too late. Once it's CANON, it's CANON and that's all. But he made a big mistake... to make money for himself, or because he was pressured because Studio Pierrot wanted to make money. I wish I knew the truth behind all this. I hate this kind of things...
Do you have some source of it ? I mean, did the mangakas posted something on line ? It's not that I don't believe you it's just that I would like to read more about it maybe.
Thank you.
I really look forward to read those mangakas' endings...
Just wondering...why did Minato say "I leave him to you" when he was talking to Sakura (about Naruto). Isn't that supposed to be a significant statement in Japanese culture? That whole interaction (and the 'she's my girlfriend' statement) was one of the things I took as a pretty big indicator of NS being the OTP. There is no way to twist it in favor of NH, it's pretty unequivocal in support of NS.
Anyway, another theory...maybe the movie was done by one group, and the manga was continued by Kishimoto, who knew it was giong to end NH but never cared to adjust the storyline. He just wrote what he wanted, continued with the NS/anti-SS vibe, then when it was time to end it, he just ended it. Wrote the last chapter and epilogue to be flattering to NH/SS and line up with the movie, and then it was peace out.
It was like a tv show being suddenly canceled. Except that Kishimoto knew the movie was coming. So I'm wondering if Kishimoto just wrote whatever he wanted, then slapped on a NH/SS ending.
And when they wrote about staying tuned for a "shocking ending" in the manga, I thought it meant that Sasuke was going to be Hokage. Silly me, thinking it was going to be about the plot. Instead the "shocking ending" had everything to do with the romance.
Yeah IMO too, Minato's statement was basically sealing the deal. I still don't understand how Kishimoto could put Naruto with Hinata, and Sakura with Sasuke...
Also, a part of me is thinking that Kishimoto might have continue to wrote what he wanted until the end that someone imposed to him. It's almost as he wanted to show that Sasuke wasn't meant for Sakura the more he could. I just can't possibly think that Kishimoto wanted this end all along. I can't. I'm not dumb. We are not dumb. This guy wanted NaruSaku. This was supposed to be part of Naruto's achievements in life...

The volumes do undergo some revisions with some of the minor details, but I don't recall there ever being too drastic of a change in imagery. So don't hold your breath for anything drastic in February.
I think I wouldn't want it anyway. It's sooooo too late for me...... =/

I'm sorry, but I only know what the person told me. I'm just gonna quote what the person said:
"here's a few artists even here in japan that are saying they are gonna do a proper ending, of course non canonical one for the series. Just some alternate takes on it. Which I am going to welcome."

It's kind of funny and sad, that without Sakura - Naruto's character looks like other person.

So is it true that the majority of the Japanese fans were disappointed with the ending or is it mostly mixed? Are their views on Hinata much different or still popular?
As much as I appreciate the amount of work going into animation, it would be best if "The Last" isn't received well and fails to make a profit. A movie shouldn't justify everything that happened prior the events of the epilogue. Especially when everyone's character do complete 180's in development in the very last chapters. It feels like such a slap to the face.
If the fans in Japan are so put off by the ending to Naruto that they refuse to see the movie, would that be enough to scrap their plans for "Part 3" and for Kishi, his assistant and Studio P' to consider an alternate ending? So they really know that the ending to "Naruto" really shouldn't be forced and should follow on from all the manga's build up that can provide clarity and closure to all fans. I know this may seem like a long shot and might be unlikely but if all who are charge of the "Naruto"franchise reach the same consensus, wouldn't it be possible?
I would love them to learn something from a big epic fail. I really would love it.
