I wonder if when they do something like that, if they have to get like clearance from Kishi

I think if the anime team wants to do something big, like almost story changing big, then they'll probably would have to get some clearance from Kishi, or his editors, or the publishers. Maybe even all them. However, I don't think they need clearance from him to show some minor pairing development. Then again I don't know how anime studios in Japan work, so I could be wrong.

That reminds me ... Studio Pierrot took a pretty big leap with NaruSaku with episode 235. It's a pretty big deal doing an open love confession about him being in love with Sakura and able to admit it. Easily. What made them do that exactly? They never did that with SasuSaku or NaruHina, the manga version was enough. There was that "Hinata loves Naruto" tease in one of the recent filler episodes, but it's different because the manga version happened first. All can say is, if Naruto develops feelings for Hinata now, then Studio Pierrot just got themselves another whopping inconsistency. Just like with Utakata.

About NS vs. NH fanservice in the anime, I noticed NH was focused on a lot in Part 1 Filler Hell. Probably because they didn't really know what to do with Sakura, so Hinata was just "easier". Not mentioning their fondness for her character and Hinata= NH fanservice. I'm under the impression that Pierrot didn't know what Kishimoto's actual canon pairing was so they assumed NH. When Part 2 started, this all changed. I know we criticize the anime for overglorifying Hinata but when you think about it, NaruHina filler moments are almost non-existent now. I actually don't remember anything worthy of mentioning, all the pairing teases related to Naruto were with Sakura. It's actually very obvious. There wasn't even any in the Three-tails filler arc, which I automatically expected because of Hinata's presence. Instead it was just "Hinata, you're awesome!" (A harmless compliment, you could see it in his face) and then "I have to win this ... so Naruto-kun can acknowledge my abilities!". Really very tame. :/

While we're on the topic of Shippuden filler, I have a question that's been on my mind for a while. When Naruto said he fell in love with Sakura in 235 ... did he use the term "suki" or "daisuki"?

I can't see Naruto developing feelings for Hinata, thats just so out of left field, especially now...if that happened I would be broken.....It did happen in Digimon with Sora and Matt though so nothing is unexpected...Im still heartbroken from that Taiora <333

Lol I never got that experience. That's a shame. I know it happened there but I truly doubt it will happen here. Honestly, if it does, the damage is x10 stronger.

You guys remember that ova that had naruto "dying" and naruto crying, then that awesome end where he lives touches her face and all Sakuras tears r running down her face....What was the deal with that? That was so awesome, I wouldn't mind if it ended with something similar to that of course with Narusaku going further with a definitive end. But was that legit, did Kishi have a say, whos behind that and what were the effects of that?

For the OVA, Kishi was involved through making the designs for some UNIQLO t-shirts. He didn't actually work on the OVA, which was a bonus DVD that came when you bought a shirt. I'm sure he watched it though.

And yea it will be awkward if NS doesn't happen in the manga in regards to how the anime will handle it especially. It is true that they don't get much insight from Kishimoto about future developments so they do work off of assumptions sometimes. They really started the NS fanservice in the beginning of part 2, and I think a big part of that is because Naruto and Sakura interacted a lot more, without much of Hinata or Sasuke being involved then. Not saying it isn't because of the pairings development, but I do believe a big part of that is because the two characters were the focus and the opportunity to ship tease was larger (and easier) than for the other pairings.

One thing I don't agree with is the assumption that NS will happen over the things the anime puts out. If the manga doesn't deliver, and it really has yet to, than the former will have to follow whatever pairing Kishi does actually make canon, unless they want to be like Digimon.

In part 1 when sasuke is badly hurt Sakura was screaming his name over and over and crying over him etc etc. In this OVA she stays silent just crying a little (not screaming Naruto, NARUTO!! like she did with Sasuke) ofc when Naruto comes around she hugs him like she had never before but i do have this feeling that it was more of a borthely/sisterly moment then romantic. Just my opinion anyway, thoughts?

I always thought it was just because they didn't want voices in it, I mean the little sounds they did make were things they could have taken form any other moment in the show and just re used it.

first thing i wouldn't like for a repetition of the same scene.
And the second about sakura not screaming and all. I acually thought that her silence had a better impact, like she's still not fully accepting the fact tht he's dead even when she can feel his skin right under her finger tips. She seemed..numb. And then she was so happy when he woke up that she started crying out of happines on his shoulder.
I thought it was perfect.

You compare a OVA scene to a manga scene from part one. Just because sakura isnt screaming around like a little kid makes their bond look brotherly?
Beside the fact that sasuke is there too.

To think that maybe the whole scene is just brotherly because she didnt scream like she did with sasuke when she was 12 is just overthinking in my opinion.
You shouldnt overthink scenes too much to try to find something that could be negativ about it. Thats a pessimistic attitude.

I understand, its ok to try to view it from all angles, you just have to think if the author does the same thing. We need to understand that its likely that the author doesnt think that deep into his scenes, so its easy to get a wrong view on certain events in the manga.

Haha, no im pretty sure there will be at least one more like that, but i dont see it as negative, since im very confident about the outcome at the end of the manga. I also had no problem with chapter 615, for me it made even more confident about NS.

After all i think the stroy is very predictable pairing wise, so i see no problem with chapter that contain some NH or SS fanservice.

Actually, that would seem more like a compliment. When you rage and uses power that go against everyone, that's bad. When you remain calm and main prioritize to save a love one, then it's good. Here's the thing: Naruto was scared of Gaara and couldn't move at all. Now when the situation got worse with Sakura being involved, there's no way he can stay scare and run away. He unleashed his hidden potential. Haku's words was finally put in test and the result is significant. He was on the verge of losing, but Sakura keeps popping his head. He summoned a Gamabunta with a low chakra. That's incredible. You can tell his eyes was nothing but determination. When you reread it, it's incredible how much work Kishi did with Naruto's expressions, especially when he was trapped, then look at Sakura, then look at Gaara with a determined face. Let's not forget how much Naruto was happy after Sakura is finally saved.

You got to remember: Naruto's seal was already weaken since Jiraiya's training, so it can be easily triggered. Naruto already said that he didn't want to lose anymore people, so it's not that he loves Hinata, she's his friend. Pretty much, anyone can trigger it. He tried keep it cool when he saw Konoha being destroyed, but when he witness "death" of his friend, his emotion couldn't hold it anymore. In short, anyone can fill in but Hinata is used because of development.

Oh no, there's a lot of moments. One person posted all panels of NaruSaku and let me tell you, there are tons. Compare to other two, it's not even half of amount of NaruSaku moments. Heck, we have one person did a recap of all NaruHina moments and there were little as well as not romantic. Some can be but never from Naruto. You may be doubting because of this arc, but don't worry, once it happens, it's game, set, and match for NH.
