I understand, trust me, I understand the frustration surrounding Sakura's character, but posting those frustrations here only spread even more discontent and frustration. That causes even more frustration on those who're generally chill with anything that goes on in the manga (like those 'be patient' types that post 'be patient,' I'd do it too, but that'd cause more frustration). Really, if you'd seen me when Harry Potter Book 6 came out, I was the same. But, we all gotta remember it's' not the end of the world and that it's all... Fictional. No amount of complaining will change how Kishi dictates his plot, so it's useless to complain about it. I learned all of that from my days of being in the HP fandom.

If you're all frustrated about it, go write a 'fix-fic,' preferably using the idea I mentioned in the 615 thread (shameless plug-in wink.gif ) or go do something else like play a game, breathe in and out, punch a punching bag, etc. Don't cry about how Kishi betrayed you because nothing went the way you expected it (Yes, I remember someone posting that they did exactly that in the 615 thread. Sorry about calling that person out, but it made me roll my eyes in disbelief). Sorry about the belligerent tone, but that's how I see it.

Remember, Keep Calm and Remember it's all Fictional.

As if this word hasn't popped up enough in this post: FRUSTRATION! biggrin.gif

I've already explained my view on how this could make sense, and I'm sorry but I'm not willing to go over it again.

Likewise, I've already explained my view on how this could make sense, and I'm not willing to go over it again.

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion, but I do not share it. I find it disappointing that theories and speculations cannot be discussed on this board without being labeled "pathetic excuses."

But I was speculating on possible development for Sakura. That's the point. If Tsunade were to die, and Sakura were to be involved in that resolution, it would be nothing but development for Sakura.

And while I certainly don't mean any disrespect to you or Redragon88, I don't agree that Sakura standing up for Naruto's dream is the best we can hope for her character. She's already done that, time and again -- so much so that it seems cliché at this point. We already know she supports Naruto's dream, and that if the circumstances call for it she would publicly support and defend him and his dreams to the death. We already know all that.

Nevertheless, I agree it's highly possible it could happen just as Redragon88 said. But I personally don't want that to be the sum total of Sakura's development -- being Naruto's greatest cheerleader. I would prefer to see her have something of her own as well, something befitting the third member of Team 7. Naruto reminded Sasuke that Sakura was an equal member of the team, so why shouldn't she have development that is separate from them just as they have had development that is separate from her?

As for the bolded, the part about the chances for Sakura development seeming small, I don't agree. But then I do not share the hypercritical attitude and negativity that seems to be so pervasive these days. For whatever reason, I'm still able to enjoy the story as it written, and don't have set expectations that compel me to prejudge Kishimoto as a failure if he doesn't meet them on a chapter-by-chapter basis. I guess I'm lucky.

I don't think Sakura needs to dwarf Hinata's speech in 615, especially not by forcing her to compete by giving a "bigger and better" speech. As far as I'm concerned, Sakura already dwarfs Hinata in every possible way, and I do not view Sakura's development through the prism of how she compares to Hinata. "Sakura is not Hinata."

Sakura may very well give a heartfelt, supportive speech about Naruto, but if that's all she does -- if that's all she's expected to be capable of doing to positively contribute to the complex events of the story -- I think that's just as patronizing and limiting to her character as what so many are accusing Kishimoto of doing to her. Just my opinion.

Yes. If fans find themselves consumed by a relentlessly unfavorable opinion, then it seems logical to either stop reading the story or take a refreshing break from it. I know misery loves company, but other than some initial relief from venting it's not very productive. But that's just my opinion too.

Amen to both of these post. sleep.gif

So far it seems that when thing aren't going the way some always wanted we get to see some peoples true colors.

There is something we need to understand, not because NaruSaku have the biggest development it most or it will happen, or Sakura most have the development we Sakura fans want her to have, Kishi is not obligated or forced to do anything for a character or the fans, if there is a point where we don't understand him anymore or our patience reach to his maximum limit, the most we can do is stop reading his Manga nothing else. Complaining will not change the direction of the Manga, plus not everyone wants to complain or see a need to do so.

For now the only thing we can do is have patience and hope that something good might happen with the characters we support.

I wasn't implying that Sakura giving a speech about Naruto becoming Hokage is all she should do. I was saying that it would be great if that was part of what she does. Not the whole.

When has Sakura ever said publicly that she believes Naruto will become the Hokage? Sure, she believes in his abilities as a ninja but that's as far as I've seen her support. Even during the chunin exams what she didn't want was to see Naruto's dream disappear. Back then she wasn't thinking he would be able to become the Hokage, therefore she should quit the exam, she was just fond of his dream. If she now expresses her certainty at Naruto having the ability to become Hokage that will be something completely different.

Sakura being Naruto's greatest support won't be the sum total of her development, but it would be an extremely significant part. And she's the perfect candidate for that role given that it will show how far she's come from considering Naruto an annoying brat, to caring about him and his aspirations (as shown in the chunin exams), to completely believing he would be able to guide them all as leader.

I understand. The problem is, your post in question only contained a description of Sakura giving a "shut up speech" to Obito and Madara in defense of Naruto's dream to become Hokage, and then Codus subsequently cited it as "the only one possible development that actually makes sense at this point in the story..."

I was attempting to address what Codus said about your post, not the content of your post. I hope that makes sense, and I apologize for the confusion.

My response was specifically directed at his assertions that: (1) Sakura giving a "shut up speech" is the only possible development that makes sense; (2) speculating on Sakura's absence from #617 constitutes "pathetic excuses"; and (3) Sakura can only or must dwarf Hinata by giving a bigger and better speech.

I don't agree with any of those assertions.

I didn't say she has. I said we know she supports Naruto's dream -- that she supports him unwaveringly -- and "if the circumstances call for it she would publicly support and defend him and his dreams to the death."

By definition that includes publicly supporting his dream to become Hokage. By saying that I was agreeing with you that if the time came, Sakura could and likely would make a speech similar to what you described.

No, I don't think so. I mean, that would be great, but the earliest I remember a chapter coming out was like, 8PM Pacific Time on a Tuesday. Never heard of it coming on a Monday. But I kinda feel like this chapter will be a dissapointment. It'll probably go to Sasuke and Co. and leave us with some lame cliffhanger. dry.gif All we're probably gonna find out is where they are. The rest will be some random BS. But here's hoping for some Sakura! biggrin.gif

No, no. That's not what that member meant, NinjaMedic meant that the days between chapters goes by pretty fast, so that the next chapter feels like it comes out tomorrow instead of 2-4 days of waiting.

No Sasuke. I want Kishi to finish up this war as soon as possible. If he switches, it does nothing but stall the situation. Before we go to Sasuke, I want the war resolved for the most part. *But if I had it my way, we'd never switch to Sasuke again and we would only see him at the end when he's facing Naruto and his journey would just be short and simple flashbacks*

Nope, I'm in the same boat as you. This "big battle" is disappointing and boring, and if it wasn't for Madara and Obito's interaction I would have nothing good to say about it except for chapter 616.

Same here. Well I'm not actually bored with the fight as much as annoyed with the entire argument of who's ideals are right. I usually enjoy clash of ideals but Naruto particularly focuses too much on it rather than the fight.

Shifting to Sasuke, I don't want that cause I want to know what's going to happen in the battle against Obito and Madara. But, if we think about it, we'll get to know what Sasuke is going to do while he's in Konoha, who's the person that knows everything, Karin's reuniting with them, and what the scroll hold up.

But, I hope it won't be a stretch of time with Sasuke if it does shift to him cause that will be somewhat boring :/ Hope that Kishi will get it to be interesting as much as he can.

How it finally got everyone (except Sakura) in the K11 more clearly involved after such a long time and how it seemed like Kishimoto was actually trying again. I didn't mind Sakura's absence in that chapter because I assumed she'd be in the next one.
Needless to say, that didn't happen, and Kishimoto aggravated me yet again.
