what does it mean anyways?
Don't think it means anything. It's just something he adds to the end of his sentences. Kushina says "dattebane" and Naruto says "dattebayo."
Bolt's "dattebasa" just sounds stupid.

Apparently the Hinata song from the movie is a sad song. Based on the cover art for the song.

So is it true that the majority of the Japanese fans were disappointed with the ending or is it mostly mixed? Are their views on Hinata much different or still popular?
As much as I appreciate the amount of work going into animation, it would be best if "The Last" isn't received well and fails to make a profit. A movie shouldn't justify everything that happened prior the events of the epilogue. Especially when everyone's character do complete 180's in development in the very last chapters. It feels like such a slap to the face.
If the fans in Japan are so put off by the ending to Naruto that they refuse to see the movie, would that be enough to scrap their plans for "Part 3" and for Kishi, his assistant and Studio P' to consider an alternate ending? So they really know that the ending to "Naruto" really shouldn't be forced and should follow on from all the manga's build up that can provide clarity and closure to all fans. I know this may seem like a long shot and might be unlikely but if all who are charge of the "Naruto"franchise reach the same consensus, wouldn't it be possible?

This is what I'm hoping might be possible. If the fans can come together in their grievances and make Kishi/Pierrot realise that a cheap ending at the cost of integrity is not what they want then perhaps a direct public acknowledgement clarifying how intentions took a shift in narrative direction to appease people might be made.

*ahem* Italian cuss words *ahem*
Yes, where did you get these ungodly powers?
Ahem, yes I should thank Lady tomorrow
You're welcome.
Though I'm starting to think I might be setting a bad example...
Still, I feel loved *sheds a tear*
Regarding other snippets I have read around, and which I'm too lazy to quote:
-Sasuke may be good looking, but honestly, his head is a bag full of cats. So hell to the nope, if he was a real person I would have told him ages ago to go f*** himself (or I could have used some complicated and apparently much adored italian cuss words to colorfully tell him where to shove it).
- From what I knew, yes, in Japan when someone tells you, "take care of my son" in the way Minato said it, yes it is definitely something with romantic undertones. It should be what parents tell to the S.O. of their children when they are either introduced or getting married (or at least it's what I always, always, always read in the enormous quantity of Japanese-related materials I have read through the years). The only non-romantic 'Take care' I have found were related either to school or to work, and I don't think this is the case, since Naruto had just told his father that Sakura was his girlfriend (and girlfriend, not girl-friend).
- Of course for the SSers (and many others) only NS is abusive, because the the one who hits is a female. If the girl hits you, you are in a abusive relationship, if it's the boy the hitter, then, no of course it's not abusive *heavy sarcasm*. the Sauce was only instructing Sakura how to be a proper wife. Double standards. Double standards everywhere....
- L'inguaribile ottimismo di un dodo.
Hungry for glory - AS Roma 1927
But they were all of them deceived, for another canon was made. In the land of Japan, in the fires of Studio Pierrot, the dark Lord Kishimoto forged in secret a master canon, to control all others, and into this canon, he poured his cruelty, his malice, and his will to dominate all life. One canon to rule them all.

QUOTE (Slextrem @ Jan 7 2013, 05:43 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I stumbled upon a post on Tumblr and thought I would share it~ This sums up what I believe is happening right now with all of the Hinata focus going on in the chapters.
"I’m not sure if I said this before, but I’ll say it anyway, Kishi is trying to fool the readers. He’s doing what I like to call a narrative feint. I’ve seen it before in other manga. The writer spends the majority of the story hinting at one main pairing. But at one point, usually during the second half of the story, the writer begins to add evidence that they’re instead going to pair the main character with another love interest instead. Sometimes even going as far as actually having them get involved romantically, which Kishi is not likely to do since that bit usually only happens in the romance genre, where the pairings are the main focus. In the end the author always hooks up the pairing which they had been most strongly foreshadowing throughout the entirety of the story. Almost always the main guy and main girl. In this case Naruto and Sakura.
Narrative feints are not restricted to romance. Kishi already did it with Tobi. He gradually hinted at Tobi being Obito. Suddenly he made everyone think that Tobi was really Madara, or someone other then Obito. And through it all he kept adding hints that pointed towards Tobi=Obito. And in the end that’s exactly what happened. He’s doing the same thing with his main pairing.
Usually, I find these feints to be very unsubtle ways of trying to add a twist to a story. That or the author just likes the troll their fans. Either way, people keep falling for them.
I’ve got to hand it to Kishi though. I wasn’t sure how it would happen, but he managed to make Hinata’s prediction in chapter 573 come true. But don’t forget, Sakura also had a prediction in that chapter. I notice in moments like in 573, mangas and anime usually give the person who is most important to the main character the last word. Sakura had the last word in 573. Meaning, now that Hinata has had her moment, Sakura’s moment is next and it will be more significant.
Hinata’s words on the last panel of 615 do worry me though. They could be taken as a hint that she is going to die. There are two reasons why I don’t want this to happen. First, I’ve always liked her character. I hope that someday she eventually does rise up to succeed her father. And second, if she dies, when NaruSaku happens then a bunch of NaruHina fans will simply claim that if Hinata hadn’t died then Naruto would have gotten together with her instead. And we will literally never hear the end of it.
And I’ll close this with what I have been saying the whole time, NaruSaku is inevitable. It is the most heavily and obviously hinted outcome in the manga. More so then anything else. Practically written in stone. It is simply too late for Kishi to pair Naruto with anyone else, without making it look like sloppy writing. And Kishi is is consistent with the outcomes of his foreshadowing. Don’t fall for the feint.
Why would this even be the case? In the epilogue there are already SS/NH kids and the movie is about how both of those pairings happened.

Maybe when kushina said "find a woman like me and not a weird one", kishi actually meant the opposite?
Because kushina also said "stay away from jiraiya" but in the end naruto became jiraiya's pupil and naruto said he was the coolest of the sannins?
maybe that's the underneath the underneath?
I don't even know anymore...
she never said "Stay away from Jiraiya". She said "Be careful with Jiraiya-sensei..."

First off its impossible for Hinata's daughter to have the whiskers. The mother has to be the host of a buujj during pregnancy for them to appear. Also Salada looks like karin.. http://www.narusaku....c=14640&page=88

Most Japanese are fine/content with the ending. The response is definitely not like in the west. There's of course some not happy, but you'll get that anywhere. In general they are not protesting the pairings.
