They happen, but do they work? No. It's not a true love basis and he usually ends up leaving her. I see it happen all the time too and not once did it end up with them being happily together. That's the point. The girl ends up being miserable, but beaten into submission. Ex. Ike and Tina Turner. Look how bad their relationship was. This is why SasuSaku fails on so many levels. It's not true love at all.
And this whole flaw Naruto may feel that does not deserve her and never be with Sakura, which is were the problems comes to, i know it's not a shoujo but Naruto has to make a "move" or say something to Sakura before a final confrontation comes or we will have a nice open ending.

Sorry, but you're basically reiterating the whole point of the manga. The point I was trying to show is why Naruto is not falling for Hinata like some assume he is and why Hinata is not deserving of Naruto's love like people say she does.
