The worst thing about that quote for me personally is that I had a nightmare of that happening!
Hinata gave up the heir to Neji. As it changes the destiny for the Hyuuga clan and goes against their family rules.
Then she ran into the arms of Naruto.
A part of me died when I woke up. headdesk.gif arg.gif arg.gif arg.gif arg.gif

Now thats a weird dream/nightmare lol

However that quote is funny, and i guess there is no proof, apart from the entire Hyuuga clan looking the same and all.

There's no proof that the Hyuuga inbreed. Yes, they're a nobility clan, but the only women Kishimoto shown were Hinata and Hanabi; the series never shown their mothers. So how do wr know that the Hyuuga Clan does that?

Um, genetics?

Unless, of course, all children in the clan are magically born with the Byakugan regardless of who their parents are (or aren't).

Wish I remembered more about Biology, if it's a dominant trait, it might show up pretty frequently, but I doubt everyone or even most would have it if the consistently married non-hyuuga people, especially in successive generations.

But if they do, it would be a good romantic moment for NaruHina: Hinata was always bind by the Hyuuga rules, and when she falls for a guy her father TOTALLY doesn't approve of, she might run away with Naruto and Team Kakashi. Then it wil be a good time to tell Naruto her feelings which MAY give Naruto more of an emotional impact. This CLICHE' I know, but with Kishi's experiece with romance....it's not so good.

There is not direct proof, no. It's conjecture, based on the type of clan and that everyone Hyuuga than has been shown has possessed the train. Not to mention the Hyuuga's protectiveness of their bloodline. They would not just let anyone into the clan. This doesn't mean they must inbread, but I don't think it;s unreasonable to assume they do.

On the theory Chidori Mistress you need not worry....I'd say that's very very unlikely. It's not even consistent with the characters involved, let alone there being even a smidgen of a hint.

She might runaway with Naruto and Team Kakashi? Where to? Team Kakashi is not running away and I'd really be hard pressed to see Naruto feeling the village he wants to become Hokage of. That was a big dream for him, I don't see him feeling the village, especially just because the Hyuuga disapprove of this pairing with Hinata. Such a thing, if anything, would compel him to stay even more and fight the Hyuuga on this. He would not just runaway. Nor would Sakura and Sai run either.

Moreover, she tell's him the feelings after running away with a team that isn't even running? And if they are running it can't be anything with her because they don't know of those feelings. She hasn't told him yet and if they do know the story then they know what's going on and the situation is resolved anyway.

Seriously, don't worry about this Chidori, it's way too inconsistent with too many things to work.

Maybe they used 'seals' or whatever to keep a certain bloodline intact in a new offspring with parents of different gene sets. I mean, they could do anything with seals :/.

Still, it's no different that the inbread theory in that there isn't any proof. When it comes down to it, that's the bottom line: we know very little about how they operate and virtually anything beyond the basic facts we've been told is pure speculation and conjecture.

I only mean it's a reasonable assumption. But I won't even pretend I can prove it because I can't.

I only mention genetics as a plausable explanation based on common sense. Common sense doesn't always prevail in shounen stories, though, so it could be seals or a jutsu or whatever Kishi comes up with.

Not only Naruto has been treated like dirt most of his life, he's not use to be around a girl like Hinata. You see, most of the girls Naruto grew up with are usually loud Sasuke fangirls who have nothing better to do than to fight over him. And when Sakura shows aggressive behavior towards him, he feels like it's natural. But Hinata is different, she NEVER acted like a loud fangirl or shown aggressive behavior, therefore, Naruto finds it VERY odd, he's not use to a girl like Hinata to be SO nice to him. Although Naruto is hyper and happy most of the time, inside he feels inferior and unworthy. So, I bet he's thinking "why would she be so nice to someone like me?".

1. I wouldn't say that everyone in the clan interbreeds, but it's highly likely most do. I mean if you're arragont person who thinks your clan is better than everyone else, would mix your blood with the "lower" people. Especially when you come from a clan that's as protective of the blood as the Hyuuga.

As Neji showed, even the Branch family tends to think they're better.

2. Neji and Kibia alluding to her crush in front of her father. Likely after the Chunin Exam, he's one of the few non-Hyuugas her dad would approve of.

3. Hinata would run away with Naruto and Team Kakashi to where exactly? Another part of the village?

4. I would say this scenerio is unfair to Naruto. Hinata runs away from her clan because of him, then tells him her feelings. Isn't that more or less forcing Naruto to return those feelings?

1. I'm glad I drunk my water before finishing this. I think I would've gagged.

2. Hinata was there too. So, it's not like he had never seen a quite girl before. He just was more interested in the loud one.

3. OK. Let's get some facts straight:

3.1) HINATA WAS NOT NICE TO NARUTO AS A CHILD!!!

She was too shy to approach him. You have to be able to approach someone to be nice to them. I suppose you could go behind the scenes and make things easier for someone like the Third did with Naruto by talking to Iruka, but Hinata is shy in general and not just Naruto. I think we can safely assume that Hinata did not work behind the scenes to make Naruto's life better (both because she thought he was just fine and because she was too shy to confront people).

3.2) By time of the Chunin Exams, Sasuke and Sakura had both been nice enough to Naruto to the point where he credits them and Kakashi and Iruka for the reason he didn't become a homocidal maniac like Gaara.

So, in other words, he was used to people being nice to him. Otherwise, according to him, he would have become like Gaara.

3.3) Naruto has never felt inferior or unworthy. He never felt like he didn't deserve something. I'm not saying he's arrogant. I'm saying he has never been self-loathing.

Sure, when it comes to his ninja abilities, there's been once, maybe twice, where doubt has gotten him down. But the way this person is writing it, it seems they are suggesting that Naruto has been down on himself as a person.

There's a big difference between not thinking you're good at something and thinking you're an inferior human being.

So, no. Naruto isn't thinking, "why would she be nice to me?"

Heh. The reason Naruto found Hinata weird wasn't because she was nice to him, but because she was dark, quiet, and couldn't look him in the eye. XD

Besides, there Are people who are very nice to him (to those who don't count team 7 as being nice to him, even though Naruto would disagree with them): Iruka for one. Iruka treats Naruto Extremely well, better than anything Hinata could ever dream of, so I really doubt Naruto would be overwhelmed by Hinata's "nice-ness."

In the meantime, Sai has remarked on how nice -Sakura- is to Naruto. tongue.gif Sakura stands up for him, heals him, spends time with him, helps him with his problems with Sasuke...

Yeah, Iruka would probably be the nicest on Narutos list, and of course anyone can see Team 7 as being nice to Naruto except SS/NH fans.

Hinata couldn't have approached Naruto in their childhood at all, for the simple reason that whenever Naruto thinks about precious people, he usually goes in the order of;

By himself, then with Iruka, then with Team 7 and then everyone else.

If Hinata did anything for him at all, then she would've appeared higher on that list. On the other hand, if she did something, it probably didn't warrant remembering at all...

Darn, I'd pull out the chapter but I forgot where it was. Plus, you know, spoilers.

After an annoying ARGUMENT of concerning the whether NaruSaku could be called 'cute' or not they managed to come up with this:

Whether or they're getting along together well is someone's opinion. I don't think they are, but like I said that's just my opinion.

Sure at first the hitting was for comedy, but after a while it gets old, overused, predictable, and at times; hard to watch.
Seriously. Because nothing says "I love you!" like a black eye.

[sarcasm]I know! Why don't people understand that? When a girl hits a guy it means she loves him! I doesn't mean she's annoyed by him! She loves him darn it!!!!11!!!1! scream [/sarcasm]

Lol I was very irritated by this comment and replied:

ha...at first it was comedic? How so?
It still is comedic even though it doesn't amuse you. It is there for COMEDIC purposes.
Are you serious? Are you still trying to say they don't get along?
lol...if we were still at the early chapters I would take that seriously.
I assume this is your first time of seeing a tsundere character in an anime pair.

QUOTE
Some (NOT ALL) fans jump the gun that NaruSaku is canon just because Sakura is just noticing how great of a shinobi Naruto is, and think Sakura is in love with him.
MY OPINION is that Naruto isn't taking his feelings for her seriously and Sakura's part of her character developement is to do things she was too immature to do; one of them is to be nice to Naruto since she treated him badly in N1 and ignore him for Sasuke.

It's also more complicated for NaruSaku to be canon because Sakura is still in love with Sasuke; her feelings for him isn't just a fangirl crush anymore and Naruto KNOWS that. It's not like Sakura is going to dump her love for Sasuke that easily. If she did go for Naruto, Naruto would know why and feel like second place since he knows her love for Sasuke. I'm not saying NaruSaku can't be canon, I have NOTHING against it, it's jut that the feelings between them are uncertain.

With NaruHina it's different. It would be as complicated since Hinata isn't involve with anyone and Naruto only have DEEP feelings for Sasuke (which in my opinion NaruSasu won't be as canon as fans hope). Hinata's serious with Naruto because she can relate with Naruto and trying to change herself to gain the courage to tell him how she feels about him. All we need is to see how Naruto would react to Hinata's confession.

1. Relationship abuse by women is a very serious problem that gets unreported. Of course *child soldiers are even more morally reprehensible.

Let's remember this is anime and not try to include real world moral issues.

If we can think it's cool training little kids to fight and then haviong them kill each other when they're anywhere from six to twelve, then we can accept that some abuse is for comedy.

I realize I'm going out of order, but I felt the importance of this issue takes precedence.

2. Unlike the opinion of whether or not something is cute or not, it being an opinion isn't enough.

Several people in the manga have stated Sakura treats him good. There's a line about harsh women being gentle to those they love.

If this person wants to say that Sakura treats Naruto poorly, ask for proof. We have proof she doesn't (Sai and Yamato's line, her williness to screw the whole team over so Naruto wouldn't get hurt, etc.).

When they point to the "abuse," ask what Naruto did before that. Also feel free to point out back in issue three, she hated Naruto because she thought he was picking on her.

3. If someone doesn't like a joke, it doesn't mean it wasn't meant as a joke.

Also, if Kishimoto kept it in to show how Sakura is abusive towards Naruto, then we would see some sort of suffering on his side. Not him going out of his way to piss her off or, as Mizura points out in her essay, try to avoid about getting hit or at least ask her not to.

Honestly, I could see Naruto and Sakura at least dabbling into S&M (I don't think they would be hardcore, but once and a while....). Considering how much Naruto tries to get hit (calling her a freak of nature), it wouldn't be surprizing if he likes a little applied pain by a pretty girl.

QUOTE

1. It's not just how great of a shinobi he is. She didn't throw herself at a monster thinking about how great of a shinobi he is.

She didn't offer to feed/flirt with him because of how great a shinobi he is.

I could go on, but I'm lazy.

2. I actually agree with this. But just because he's not taking them serious at the moment, doesn't mean he doesn't have them or that he won't take them seriously if he thinks he has a shot again.

QUOTE

1. Of course he's more focused on Sasuke.

Honestly, would you be more worried about a friend who on a very self-destructive path who is immediate danger, or getting a date?

Naruto simply has his priorities straight.

2. Again, Naruto has his priorities straight. More important than getting a date with Sakura is getting Sasuke back.

And if she loves Sasuke, he won't interfere. Because he loves her and wants her to be happy.

3. Please show where in Part II Sakura shows any signs of loving Sasuke romantically.

4. Easily? She poured her heart out to him and got knocked unconscious. He's been out of the village for about three years since then, and there has been another opition that has always been there for her if she ever needed it. And that's just Lee. She also has Naruto who has done alot more for her.

I wouldn't say she got over Sasuke easily.

5. This part about being second choice is really faulty reasoning.

I told my high school girlfriend I love. I rarely think about her anymore. But does this mean my future wife (assuming I ever marry of course) is second choice to a girl I'll probaly never see again?

Just because someone doesn't hook up with their first interest/love, doesn't mean everyone after that is second choice.

I would only say someone is second choice if you still want the "first" choice.

Or more simply, why can't your first choice ever change? Life is changing. We get new facts or situations change, our desires change. It's wrong to say our first choice is the very first person we have ever crushed on or even loved. That's saying we human beings are static unchanging things. We're not.

And while literature is not exactly the same thing as real life, it does have a kind of character called dynamic character who changes throughout the story.

Wanna take a guess if Sakura is dynamic or not?

6. Naruto only has deep feelings for Sasuke? Again, you're confusing priority with care.

Naruto has proven repeatedly that he cares deeply for Sakura (fighting Gaara, Promise of a Lifetime, Renewal of the Promise, stop using the Kyuubi because he hurt her [admittedly, he did think about Sasuke in this descion too, but there's no reason he can't care about both of them]).

*I admit, I stole this from Mizura's NejiHina (at least I think it was that), but it works here too.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the angry girl stereotype. Hell, Naru was much worse that to Keitaro and they ended up getting married. This doesn't prove anything regarding this manga, but that she hits him doesn't somehow prove she hates him or that she can't or won't love him.

It's a common anime theme. I can understand not liking it and if used to the degree as it was in anime's like Love Hina I might not like Sakura, but the fact remains it such situations turn into love relationships and such a thing is hardly unusual.

There is really nothing else to say on that point. You can't take it absolute face value and they choose to do so...I really don't know what else to say. If you did, people like Naru and Akane should be in jail for a long on dozens of accounts for assault charges.

It's not canon. Technically the only relationship that is, is Asuma and Kurenai. SasuSaku isn't and neither is NaruHina.

Promise of a Lifetime. He looks plenty serious to me. At times, he may not, but, IMO, I think he believes he has no chance. That he believes she has already chosen Sasuke over him. It's not that he doesn't take them seriously but asks thinking he already knows the answer, so he doesn't ask seriously. That he doesn't act seriously, doesn't prove he isn't serious about them. Scene's like the promise of a lifetime seem to suggest, he is, in fact, quite serious.

None of that notice prove she loves him, but it is important because without it, there would be no possibility of a love relationship. I don't which NaruSaku fans this poster debated with, but the ones I speak to sight this as proof of the evolution and development of their relationship over the course of the series. To show she does like, does care about, and does respect him. If they say it proves love, they're wrong. By itself, it doesn't. What it does provide is the foundation and Sakura's development regarding her relationship with Naruto. As I said, it doesn't prove love, but helps lay a foundation for that to happen.

Naruto looks like he's just playing around with Sakura, but more focused on finding Sasuke. Naruto knows Sakura loves Sasuke, with is one of the reasons why Naruto is looking for him. If Naruto took his feelings serious, he would try to build that courage to let her know like she did for Sasuke and what Hinata is trying to do for Naruto.

That's really not a surprise as Sasuke is the most immediate issue at hand. In all likelihood neither has thought past getting Sasuke back. I think they just want him back, plain and simple. Prior to Orochimaru's death time was of the essence and even though he died they likely still think it is. That this is their most immediate focus and not their loves lives is not a shocking in the least. It's expected.

Would he? That's certainly likely if he took only HIS feelings seriously, but if he really believes what she wants is Sasuke, Naruto is the type of person who would step aside so she could pursue that. In fact, the hospital scene and promise of a lifetime seem to confirm that stance. To me, they show his seriousness regarding his feelings (especially the promise) and that he comes to the conclusion that the thing Sakura really wants is Sasuke, so he steps aside for her sake. Naruto sacrifices for the sake of others. I don't think he'd feel good if he forced his feelings on her when she truly wanted someone else.

In fact, his behavior at the end of part seems to suggests that's exactly what he's doing: standing aside for her sake, putting her feelings above his own. I've consistently argued that I thought of all the characters in Part 1, Naruto's feelings were probably the most mature and this is why. He wanted Sakura's love and affection just as Sakura wants Sasuke, but puts his aside in consideration of what she wants. Love is both selfish and selfless, and regarding that Naruto seems to be the most selfless regarding it.

So that he doesn't do as you say doesn't mean he isn't serious. I think his approach to be more mature than the one the poster uses.

Whether it's complicated or not isn't really relevant either. Sakura can fall in love with some else. It doesn't really mean just "dumping" Sasuke or her feelings for him. Moreover, Sasuke doesn't ever return the feelings the way she wants him too and I doubt would be overly devastated. He doesn't exactly appear to hold in special esteem vis-a-vis the rest of team. If anyone holds that distinction it's probably Naruto. Moreover, that SasuSaku NaruHina is convenient for that set of people involved is a poor reason to avoid making NaruSaku canon, not to mention some of the assumptions it makes regarding people's feelings for one another.

Really, Hinata's a minor character whose love life is probably a secondary concern (at best) plot wise. Her character isn't solely defined by her stated love for him. So, I see no reason why she has to end up with Naruto or anybody else. In actuality, I think Naruto's rejection stand to provide her with ore development as it would a step toward giving him up as a crutch for confidence and truly possessing on her own.
