After an annoying ARGUMENT of concerning the whether NaruSaku could be called 'cute' or not they managed to come up with this:
How is that even argueable? It's opinion. My sister's best friend thinks mice are very cute. My sister does not.
QUOTE
Whether or they're getting along together well is someone's opinion. I don't think they are, but like I said that's just my opinion.
Sure at first the hitting was for comedy, but after a while it gets old, overused, predictable, and at times; hard to watch.
Seriously. Because nothing says "I love you!" like a black eye.
[sarcasm]I know! Why don't people understand that? When a girl hits a guy it means she loves him! I doesn't mean she's annoyed by him! She loves him darn it!!!!11!!!1! scream [/sarcasm]
1. Relationship abuse by women is a very serious problem that gets unreported. Of course *child soldiers are even more morally reprehensible.
Let's remember this is anime and not try to include real world moral issues.
If we can think it's cool training little kids to fight and then haviong them kill each other when they're anywhere from six to twelve, then we can accept that some abuse is for comedy.
I realize I'm going out of order, but I felt the importance of this issue takes precedence.
2. Unlike the opinion of whether or not something is cute or not, it being an opinion isn't enough.
Several people in the manga have stated Sakura treats him good. There's a line about harsh women being gentle to those they love.
If this person wants to say that Sakura treats Naruto poorly, ask for proof. We have proof she doesn't (Sai and Yamato's line, her williness to screw the whole team over so Naruto wouldn't get hurt, etc.).
When they point to the "abuse," ask what Naruto did before that. Also feel free to point out back in issue three, she hated Naruto because she thought he was picking on her.
3. If someone doesn't like a joke, it doesn't mean it wasn't meant as a joke.
Also, if Kishimoto kept it in to show how Sakura is abusive towards Naruto, then we would see some sort of suffering on his side. Not him going out of his way to piss her off or, as Mizura points out in her essay, try to avoid about getting hit or at least ask her not to.
Honestly, I could see Naruto and Sakura at least dabbling into S&M (I don't think they would be hardcore, but once and a while....). Considering how much Naruto tries to get hit (calling her a freak of nature), it wouldn't be surprizing if he likes a little applied pain by a pretty girl.

Some (NOT ALL) fans jump the gun that NaruSaku is canon just because Sakura is just noticing how great of a shinobi Naruto is, and think Sakura is in love with him.
MY OPINION is that Naruto isn't taking his feelings for her seriously and Sakura's part of her character developement is to do things she was too immature to do; one of them is to be nice to Naruto since she treated him badly in N1 and ignore him for Sasuke.
1. It's not just how great of a shinobi he is. She didn't throw herself at a monster thinking about how great of a shinobi he is.
She didn't offer to feed/flirt with him because of how great a shinobi he is.
I could go on, but I'm lazy.
2. I actually agree with this. But just because he's not taking them serious at the moment, doesn't mean he doesn't have them or that he won't take them seriously if he thinks he has a shot again.

Naruto looks like he's just playing around with Sakura, but more focused on finding Sasuke. Naruto knows Sakura loves Sasuke, with is one of the reasons why Naruto is looking for him. If Naruto took his feelings serious, he would try to build that courage to let her know like she did for Sasuke and what Hinata is trying to do for Naruto.
It's also more complicated for NaruSaku to be canon because Sakura is still in love with Sasuke; her feelings for him isn't just a fangirl crush anymore and Naruto KNOWS that. It's not like Sakura is going to dump her love for Sasuke that easily. If she did go for Naruto, Naruto would know why and feel like second place since he knows her love for Sasuke. I'm not saying NaruSaku can't be canon, I have NOTHING against it, it's jut that the feelings between them are uncertain.
With NaruHina it's different. It would be as complicated since Hinata isn't involve with anyone and Naruto only have DEEP feelings for Sasuke (which in my opinion NaruSasu won't be as canon as fans hope). Hinata's serious with Naruto because she can relate with Naruto and trying to change herself to gain the courage to tell him how she feels about him. All we need is to see how Naruto would react to Hinata's confession.
1. Of course he's more focused on Sasuke.
Honestly, would you be more worried about a friend who on a very self-destructive path who is immediate danger, or getting a date?
Naruto simply has his priorities straight.
2. Again, Naruto has his priorities straight. More important than getting a date with Sakura is getting Sasuke back.
And if she loves Sasuke, he won't interfere. Because he loves her and wants her to be happy.
3. Please show where in Part II Sakura shows any signs of loving Sasuke romantically.
4. Easily? She poured her heart out to him and got knocked unconscious. He's been out of the village for about three years since then, and there has been another opition that has always been there for her if she ever needed it. And that's just Lee. She also has Naruto who has done alot more for her.
I wouldn't say she got over Sasuke easily.
5. This part about being second choice is really faulty reasoning.
I told my high school girlfriend I love. I rarely think about her anymore. But does this mean my future wife (assuming I ever marry of course) is second choice to a girl I'll probaly never see again?
Just because someone doesn't hook up with their first interest/love, doesn't mean everyone after that is second choice.
I would only say someone is second choice if you still want the "first" choice.
Or more simply, why can't your first choice ever change? Life is changing. We get new facts or situations change, our desires change. It's wrong to say our first choice is the very first person we have ever crushed on or even loved. That's saying we human beings are static unchanging things. We're not.
And while literature is not exactly the same thing as real life, it does have a kind of character called dynamic character who changes throughout the story.
Wanna take a guess if Sakura is dynamic or not?
6. Naruto only has deep feelings for Sasuke? Again, you're confusing priority with care.
Naruto has proven repeatedly that he cares deeply for Sakura (fighting Gaara, Promise of a Lifetime, Renewal of the Promise, stop using the Kyuubi because he hurt her [admittedly, he did think about Sasuke in this descion too, but there's no reason he can't care about both of them]).
*I admit, I stole this from Mizura's NejiHina (at least I think it was that), but it works here too.
