It's the fact that Hinata is wearing the same ceremonial outfit as Toneri that lends credence to the theory she is subjected to a genjutsu in which those NH kids exist. I'm sticking to that theory unless the manga proves me wrong.

I don't believe the manga will though. It'd be incredibly disjointed. The war ended, Naruto defeated and seemingly redeemed Sasuke, who has no interest in Sakura who is showing signs of moving on, however we're supposed to believe that by end of it all in the epilogue, we're going to see these kids and have to wait for the explanation a month later? I don't buy it.

If NH was endgame then I don't understand why Sakura has second billing, why the narrator hints Naruto is still attracted to her, or why Naruto and Sakura are juxtaposed together in almost every promotional release. If SasuSaku is going to be end game, why not show them together? The Yamato quote is also too obscure of a reference to make to mean anyone other than Sakura to whom those words were directed.

And are we really going to see real NH kids in the FIRST entry into the new era project? I doubt it.

Evil may be trolling or only seen parts of the final chapters/movie. We don't know for a fact if she would have access to this kind of information, and quite frankly I'm willing to give Kishimoto to benefit of the doubt over her.
