I am a Roman Catholic but I never attended the mass during Sundays. I am not really interested in the sermons and homily of the priest. It must have been because I see a lot of hypocrisy inside the church.

Oh but that's exactly the reason I went to church. Because I wanted to clear some parts that sounded a bit hypocritical. But now I forgot what it was....

I didn't learn in a very detailed way. I just read books here and there. I read about the Islamic culture as an extension to my interest in Dubai and their economy. But that was in uni so I'm not really that knowledgeable about it
I'm interested in religions in general. I was curious about Christianity so I went to the church every Sunday to ask the bishop,what this and this means in the bible, and the ideas behind a certain event. And some times I went to the temple to ask the monk what their ideas were and so on. I'm just curious to how these ideas can make people follow them. I'm an Atheist myself and the idea of believing an idea and following from something that comes outside from your mind was hard to understand for me so I got interested.

How do you know that I was talking about Islam eventhough I didn't mention the name of religion? Because I mention Indonesia?

 

I never meet an atheist! Hello!  Btw, then what's written on your ID Card? Is there any religion section there? Your interest is interesting!    May I know how do you become an atheist? What about your parents? Atheist too?

 

 

Oh, Islam....I'm following a course on it in uni. 

 

Tough I'd love to know more about other religions, apart from Christianity, Islam and Judaism I know very little.

What kind of course? Why did your uni has it?

It's 'Islam: culture and politics' (last year they had something similar, it was called 'mediterranean studies'). As of now we're mostly studying the history (since it's woefully underdone in all the other history courses and in school), then we'll pass to politics but we also have some 'special topics' lessons, until now we've had some overview on the 'philosophy schools and the law' and another one on the finances, made by a very nice fellow who works for the IMF in the Arab countries. 

I'm studying International Relations (with a kind of major on Global Studies).

Priests are suppose to be holy people right? And yet they commit such sins. Like impregnating someone. They say if we confess our sins and face retribution, the soul might be saved from damnation. What is Heaven and Hell really? Isn't this place right now classified as Heaven and Hell. Heaven for some, Hell for the others. (￢_￢)

We don't have a religion section in our ID card because Japanese don't really follow a religion. They implement different religious events in their life (like Christmas)but they don't believe in them. But it doesn't mean they aren't religious. They don't believe in god but they believe in spirits and the ideas behind it. Me and my parents are both atheists.
