When I think about how Hinata never interacted with many of Naruto's precious people, I can only imagine how awkward it would be.

 

Like Naruto summons is toad Gamakichi (sp?), to show Hinata.

You'll probably never get a direct answer to whether he wanted the series to end like this, but there's quite a lot of evidence to go by, even as late as the girlfriend comment chapter.

 

 

Actually isn't the latest evidence we have, Kakashi  saying Sakura's feelings had changed ?

"and Sakura i reckon you're feelings towards Sasuke have changed since that time... even if you still like him it's probably a different feeling". From chapter 675

So when salad and bolt have kids, will they be two twin boys (sage and his brother)? Now we have part 4. Hinita is the only one alive from the 11 and will be Hokage. Sigh...

Hinita is on team 7? This is all a change from what kishi wrote.

I believe kishi's story was to follow the gusty ninja. In the end he sold out.

SP and SJ was not going let one of their big money makers go away. In the end this is business.

Kishi can do part 3 and can have is NS lite through Bolt and Salad. Then he can walk away and say it's complete. In away he completed what he wanted to do.

We lost to money. We know how it was supposed to end.

I don't see Ns in Bolt and Salad.

Looks more like Sasuke (Salad) and Naruto (Bolt). Salad seems to be the more mature, silent but cold one while Bolt looks to be an exact replica of naruto, immature, loud and causing trouble.

Ok, even if he did cryptically say it was someone who forced his hand, it isn't hard for the general public to infer these "parties unknown" are. Either way, he would end up painting himself as a tool and lose any credibility as an author.

It's no less creditable than any author who admits to influences from other parties directing the course of his work. Kishi has already gone on record to admitting that these people played a part in directing the course of the plot with the introduction of new characters like Killer Bee and Taka, even Sasuke was originally the brainchild of an editor iirc. Oh, and let's not forget the scenarios with Tsunade fighting Pain and Hidan having a more diverse moveset that were scraped due to time constraints. I believe it was even mentioned somewhere that Kishi intended to have Neji and Choji die in SRA.

Why is it so difficult for this man to confess that he intended for something different? Can he not string his words together in a way that doesn't paint him in a negative light? You know, describe the reasons with a neutral overtone like with all of the other confessions to editorial influence in the past if he feels his dignity is at stake.
 

I didn't specifically refer to the Western fanbase at all. What we do known is that, according to that interview conducted right after the Land of Iron arc, he himself admitted several people told him Sakura wasn't heroine-like and people won't stop talking about Hinata.

 
True, but then he reaffirmed his intention of presenting Sakura in a heroine fashion because that's apparently what her inherent nature is like - lo and behold, the promise was "fulfilled" through (largely) underwhelming spurts of screen-time over one hundred chapters later that the side-cast was also leeching off of for their own benefit.

Remember his assurances of dedicating some meaningful attention to her after Kakashi's "year" was finished? It never panned out, did it? Unless you believe the events of #693 to be the shining moment of glory that Kishi was referring to.
 

Really, I can write a book at this stage to prove that Google hits and polls are an inaccurate representation of fandom popularity. But it doesn't matter in the end, because in this case, Hinata being more popular than Sakura was what Kishimoto thought at the time of the interview.

To which fandom though? Furthermore, this presents the issue of which group he's more dedicated to. And if he allows popularity alone to dictate the course of his work, as well as affect its consistency, then he doesn't need people to believe that he's a sellout. He already is one.
 

Regardless, my point was if he admitted he wrote the ending to please the NH/ SS fanbase (if that was the case), there's no way he can come out of it without making himself look bad, without his manga looking bad, or his new NH movie looking bad.

Says who? Again, why is it so impossible for him to admit that his plans changed in an characteristically unbiased manner? The fact that his emotions are a mixed baggage is an indirect confession to not achieving everything he sought out (unless he was referring to sentimentality over his work being finished after so many years). These fans who are only interested in the movie for the songstress, SS's crap, and to see what will likely be the final movie of the series are already guaranteed to watch it.
 

No one can actually say for certain that Kishimoto wrote the ending he did for money, so unless he admits it in any interview, no one can actually accuse him of such without the accusation looking like baseless slander. I personally think he just wrote what he did because the NH/ SS fandoms combined were much bigger than the NS/ SK fandoms. It looked like to me that he just wanted to please more people.

 
Interestingly, this desire to appeal to the masses came as a sudden shock while in the past he's been adamant in following the course that he personally set for the story. I do believe that editorial influence might have been a factor. You can see from the quality and effort of the last few dozen chapters that Kishi's interest was beginning to shrink. Couple exhaustion with the the stresses in his personal life and influence from editors/executives/Pierrot and there's a likely account of why the man chose to swiftly end the series on such an uninspiring note.
 

No author has been able to admit they've changed their ending at the last minute without getting flack for it, honestly. JK Rowling ignited a whole new wave in the HP shipping war for telling people Hermione should be with Harry.

But there's already enough people acting in his defence who will try and argue that Kishi intended for this ending to pan out since the early planning stages of The Last. Who it would bother if Kishi admitted that all of his plans for the ending (saying that it was a spur of the moment isn't necessary if that will ease his conscience) didn't come to fruition? Cutting corners and changing certain events around for this reason or that coercive force is nothing new from Kishi.

Oh i agree. Salad totally looks like Karin and Sasuke. My last post was more about Salad and Bolt being like Sasuke and Naruto in terms of the way they seemed to behave in Chapter 700.

 

 

 

Speaking of Karin what actually happened to her ? She wasn't in Chapter 699 or 700 and she also doesn't appear to be in the movie.

Seems like she just disappeared of the face of the earth.

 

Also what was the point in making her an Uzumaki ?. This seems like something important yet it never really served any purpose.

If you guys read the theory thread. We figured out this ending is a troll and/or bolt and sadara are Naruto and Sakura's kids or they adopted sadara because sasuke is outside of the village and KARIN IS  dead or something..

Kishi is a lie. Sakura's parents never appeared in the manga, Kakashi's face was never revealed, and Gaara never got that drink with Naruto!

 

I'm honestly amazed that this man was able to contradict himself at every turn.

 

Examples;

New generation surpasses old- Nope, they just get screwed over by either death, unconditional love, or because reasons.

 

POAL- Nope, even if Naruto brought it up right before the fight starts, it's gonna get ignored.

 

Naruto's gonna be Hokage!- But only after Kakashi, who never wanted to be it in the first place, does. And in the end the kage position, will become so pointless, anyone can get it.

 

Sasuke states he has no reason to love Sakura, saw her as family in part one, and only cares for Naruto- Nope, he loves her.

 

Sakura's heart beats faster around Naruto and more than anything, she wants his dream to come true- But she loves Sasuke.

 

Tenten has Kishi's favorite kunoichi design- Gets as much screen time as Pakkun.

 

Kushina says find a girl like me, Minato says Sakura is like Kushina- Naruto marries Hinata.

 

Naruto will end the cycle of hatred- We don't see how.

 

The Last, has been in the making for two years- We still get strong NS moments, while Hinata is shafted to the side.

 

Kishi says he's gonna wrap the ending up conclusively- Nothing is conclusive.

 

Let's thank the greatest author of all time- For how kitten his story became.
