Lmao, I forgot all about that. There was usually about 1-3 flashbacks during a battle, then there ended up being flashbacks fully devoted to one chapter. NaruSasu final fight was filled with them -____-

their first fight included a lot of flashbacks too, whole chapters of it.

A good 50-60% of it was at the very least. That's one of the biggest complaints that people had with the war arc was he overuse of flashbacks granted he did use them in other arcs, but it wasn't to the extend that the war arc had. Which is something I notice about Kishi when it came to Naruto and since the interview came out it's pretty clear to me that Kishi put the flashbacks in because he couldn't know what to do.

Not even O-Parts Hunter, AoT, Tokyo Ghoul, even Fairy Tail, other mangas, didn't uses the flashbacks to this extent.

That is a pretty sizeable amount. That could indeed be the case, Kishimoto not knowing what to do and just throwing in flashbacks to make up the page numbers until the next week. I feel the same way with Tite Kubo sometimes when he draws a never-ending battle: that he keeps it going until he figures out where to go next.

I have nothing against flashbacks, but they shouldn't be a crutch, y'know?

Honestly... I'm pretty disgusted at the marketing ploy to try and give us answers. I mean if the ending had set something up, I probably wouldn't mind it, but the ending literally didn't give me anything to look forward to. Doesn't matter if Naruto shows up in these "new" chapters being a "good" father, the fact you ended it with him kittening around his son for a pretty pointless meeting, it's a major turn off. I'll never know how this peace was obtained, I'll never know how Naruto ultimately gain Hokage status, I'll never know why everyone ended up with someone... and I'm perfectly fine with it, because it'll just be as depressing as the ending.

That fight was a lot more entertaining too. I guess the whole god mode battles got old pretty quickly...

The whole ninja concept got lost in Part 2... and despite my gratitude for the Pain arc, Pain really began blowing it out of proportion. (That was of coarse after Itachi displayed the ultimate hax of the Sharigan)

I know it was the final arc in the series, and granted I've noticed for a long time but did anyone feel that there were too many flashbacks during the Fourth Great Ninja War?

Too much flashbacks in the whole series ! not only the war arc.... especially in the anime...Seriously, we didn't need to see the uchiha massacre so many times !

Instead of developing the characters more, he kept showing over and over again the same flashbacks...maybe, it's just another proof that Kishi has no imagination and no skill at writing a good story.

The only flashbacks I found acceptable were Obito's, Hashirama's, and Minato's.

Those were the only ones I liked too because they were new it hadn't dealt with stuff we already knew.

Lmao, I forgot all about that. There was usually about 1-3 flashbacks during a battle, then there ended up being flashbacks fully devoted to one chapter. NaruSasu final fight was filled with them -____-

Agreed now granted the final fight in Part 1 had flashbacks too, but they were also stuff that were new to us. none of it was too repetitive.

Actually since we're talking about the use of flashbacks here is an effective way Kishi could've used it. So let's all pretend that Part 1 of Naruto had just ended and we see Naruto and Jiraiya going off to train. Now this thought just occured to me, but what if Part 2 opens up the same way of everyone welcoming Naruto back for his return.  Now think about how things would be if Naruto had amnesia.

Naruto leaves on a journey to train with Jiraiya at the end of Part 1.

Part 2 starts with Naruto returning to the village, but has no recollection of his past.

I honestly had no problem with that kind of stuff until the ending. I feel like Kakashi's power up with the Sharingan was the most ridiculous thing to ever happen in the manga. I don't even know how he could've ever thought something like that would remotely make any type of sense.

That would be interesting. It'd be cool seeing Naruto have to be reintroduced with everyone again. His relationship with Sasuke and Sakura would probably be a lot different too.

Well we did have flashback within a flashback as well. I have nothing against it, but it seems like "Previously on..." style, which is odd...

The sharingan might be one of the most infuriating things I've encountered in a manga.

Pain was the starting point of descending into the power-up madness... The ending just amplified it x1000 because of the rushing to complete it

The sharingan might be one of the most infuriating things I've encountered in a manga.

If it stayed like it was originally displayed, reading movements and a ridiculous Genjutsu ability, I probably would think it was a pretty unique bloodline... then it went so far as give the user god powers. How do eyes even do that exactly?

yes.

Short, sweet, to the point. I like it

Yeah, the whole bringing everyone back alive thing was definitely pushing it. How'd you feel about him being defeated by a regular rasengan?

And lol, at me getting my first hate message from an anti on Tumblr. How sweet of them -___-

War arc was flashback era.

A flashback here and a flashback there, even while fighting they go into cinema mode flashbacks.Chapters was mostly them.

There were some important flashbacks like obito's,minato's etc but the rest was completely unnecessary. Now i think kishi didn't have an idea on what to do.

That's how things went on from one point.

Kishi didn't think this one bit through,a bloody war is not the place for elongated flashbacks, that too for each character, sure pertaining to those important characters like villain etc  then and there is alright but rest is unnecessary and was nothing but stalling. This was a clear lack of interest from kishi on the manga, wait a second,kishi-story-planning,those never come in a straight line, silly me.

Flashbacks within a story are good, problem is Kishi overused them and ended up contradicting and rewriting what he previously wrote. And it ended up one giant mess.

Which I've told you - time and time again - is dangerous! There will never be consensus, son, among those you have helped to ascend. They will all differ in their views of what it means to be free. The peace you so desperately seek does not exist.

These men are united now by a common cause. But when this battle is finished they will fall to fighting amongst themselves about how best to ensure control. In time it will lead to war. You will see.

I was even cool with its ability to copy movements. Still a bit hax, but bearable. But you are absolutely right: it becomes such an unreal power by the end that it ruins any sense of logical growth in strength.
