Well one thing that this manga has shown well is the cycle of hatred and how it can have a domino effect, we have Ultear who was manipulated to think her mother abandoned her which led to the hatred that led to Grimoire Heart to use that hatred to do their bidding which in turn led to her maipulating Jellal to do her bidding, who in turn manipulated Erza's friends to believe she abandoned her and used that hatred to complete his plans to complete that tower, and now we have Kagura and Milliana who are united in their hatred for Jellal to destroy him. Now on the flip side, we have the cycle of forgiveness, Erza forgiving Jellal allowed him to sacrifice himself to save his friends, and then Gray forgiving Ultear which in led to her saving Fairy Tail, and then Meredy forgiving Ultear that lead to the three uniting to create an underground guild out to save the world.

Interesting conversation between Erza and Gray, I aways wondered if he was totally obvious to Juvia crush, or he knew and just pretented that he didn't. I wonder if he likes Juvia too, taking the frustrated exp​ression he made when Erza said that he should make things clear. holy moly, and a wild Natsu appeared! And he uses nakama power, it's super effective!!

Woot! Big Sister Erza and Raging Natsu and Growing Up Lucy (and Natsu) and *squeee* Tons of good stuff. And I called it, those are probably the last two stellar spirit mages left. They were already fairly rare to begin with. Thing is, now I suspect Natsu is going to get Fairy Tail kicked out of the games... but if he kicks Gemma's ass it'll be worth it.

It seems like the only pairings getting panel-time lately are the ones I'm indifferent towards. Bring on the Na/Lu and Gajeel/Levy and Laxus/Mira!

Even though it must have been hard for her, I'm really glad Yukino told somebody about what her former scumbag of a Guild Master forced her to do. I was more hoping Makarov would hear about it though. I want to see his reaction to finding out how Gemma treats his 'children', if he doesn't know already.
But I have a feeling a few Fairy Tail members will intervene on Natsu's behalf, so maybe that's not totally impossible at this point...

Laxus/Mira really? Not that I wouldn't mind but they should at least have some little development. It would be kind of weird if it just randomly happened.

I already knew that Yukino felt bad for being force to be naked in front of so many people but this chapter really showed how it traumatized her. Even if Natsu is pretty reckless for going to Sabertooth alone to fight, it's still very cool since he's doing it to defend Yukino's pride. Let's hope he told Happy to go inform the rest of the gang about what happened so they follow Natsu into the fight.

Since next week's title says Natsu vs Gemma I hope Natsu at least puts on a good fight and not simply be quickly KOed by Gemma. It might be too much to hope that Natsu defeats a guild master but he should at least stand his ground.

I think Natsu will lay a few punches here and there on Gemma, but Makarov will intervene because he obviously still wants to participate in the tournament. So he asks Gemma to settle the matter in the tournament. Of course, Makarov intervening means Natsu will be wrapped in bandages. Since Gemma seems to be the type of person who respects strength above all else, Gemma will comply for two reasons:

1. He honestly doesn't want to fight Makarov if he can't help it since he respects his strength.
2. Gemma amusingly asks FT to prove his fault by showing their strength in the tournament.

This is also in line with Makarov's ideals, so he'll show Gemma what Nakama power is in the tournament.

P.S.: I'm not sure if you guys noticed it, but this page here seems to be the floating castle-thingie in the new anime opening. So I'm guessing the Zentopia incident Yukino mentioned here is from the new filler arc. (Meaning the arc is canon)

I agree, that sounds pretty plausible. I hope to see Gemma and Makarov fight at some point. Or maybe even Mavis.

And nice catch on the Zentopia thing. Mashima seems to promote the anime quite a bit in the cover pages and little side notes (I remember one time he mentioned going to an Aya Hirano concert after she was confirmed to be Lucy's seiyuu), so I can see him trying to incorporate anime-only plots into the manga. I'd bet he has a decent amount of involvement in the anime too, but I guess I don't really know for sure.

Yeah, that's definitely what I thought before Gemma was introduced. He just seems so evil though, I can't really imagine him reforming mid-arc. On top of that, Raven Tail also seems to be a separate group of villains for the time being, and Mermaid Heel (or at least two of them) will probably be fighting against FT if/when they find out about Jellal working with them. It seems like there's so villains right now, it's hard to tell who will reform right away, and who will be the main villains of the arc. I sort of wonder if the final battle in this arc might be like a big battle royale between everyone.

Fairy Tail vs Sabertooth vs Raven Tail vs Mermaid Heel, all while the Eclipse Plan is happening around them. This is gonna be interesting.

I didn't understand the bit in the first bubble about "We're both mages" but in the second bubble Natsu talks about understanding that kind of humiliation. Do you think that kid Natsu was forced out of the first guild he joined only for Makarov to find him and tell him to join Fairy Tail?

I took that as him saying he doesn't know how things work in other guilds, but he can empathize with her as a fellow mage. As in, being humiliated in that way is something that's universally despicable, regardless of what guild she was a part of.

It would definitely be an interesting development if Natsu had a former guild though.
