Yeah, and it's coming rather soon, at least I hope it won't last two years before they reach the point the manga is at.

And yes, I believe it's smooth sailings for us while we leave the others behind. Why? Because of one little thing said about Sakura's feelings towards Naruto. She trust's him completely, something that can't be said about Sasuke right now. The other reason is the POV part where we see Naruto's bandage. He's the reason she becomes Tsunade's apprentice. She doesn't want to see him hurt because of his promise to her. S/S sunk this last week along with N/H even if the second one still has a slight chance of survival yet, more then S/S anyway, Hinata hasn't deserted the leaf yet

In other news, I'm still working on my torpedoes, I've managed to put Lee inside and h0ope his youthful p?wer will overtake the other ships! Thus we now have the Youthful torpedoes to add to our already mighty arsenal! But who know, there might be some submarines around! Next up the aquatic mines!

I agree with you, Godai.

Sakura really didn't want to see Naruto hurt, or even risk losing him. She was even willing to tell Naruto to forget about the promise. That's something the NaruHinas and SasuSakus have overlooked. That IS why Sakura was inspired to become a Medic-nin.

As you said, she trusts him completely and wants to be by his side. Couple that with her uneasiness about Sasuke's state of mind and his rejection, and Hinata's absence - and NaruSaku is looking VERY good indeed.

Someone said he was really starting to like NaruSaku because, unlike many pairings, it had a REASON to happen and has a real foundation for their feelings rather than a "together by default".

There was even a fanfic published that sees the development as Sakura's promise to Naruto. That she will be by his side.

It seems 236 has inspired quite a few fanfics! There's one NaruHina/NaruSaku, a couple of (badly written) alternative versions that support NaruHina/SasuSaku, and the above one.

Maybe I should join in with a NaruSaku oneshot.

If only I could write oneshots! I'm no good at them though, last time I tried to write one it ended up as Saotome Naruto, not that you guys will complain about it though.

if 236 can tide over some people from the other ships I wouldn't complain in fact it would be our duty to grill them for info before we put them on the withness protection program! (reading too much Tom Clancy novels these days...) but what was said is right, unlike in, let's say, Ranma the coupling isn't something that is a default setting. Most manga are like that even those that have some deep romantic feel have something of a default couple. The worst would be Goku and Chichi in Dragonball, I mean Goku actualy maries Chichi because he promised at the very begining, how deafult setting can it get?

In Naruto the situation acts more around feelings, Naruto does like Sakura in the very begining but with their being teamates it changes more into love as he protects her as one of his precious people. Sakura absolutely despises Naruto at the begining but now, with the latest chapter and all along the story it changes from there to at the very leaswt a profound friendship.

OK, I'll do a one-shot exploring 236 in depth. Basically a story that puts our thoughts on NaruSaku in it.

I agree with you, Godai. If "Naruto" were to go NaruHina and SasuSaku, that would just waste all the great writing that went into the NaruSaku relationship. It would also feel so default and shallow as well (Sakura liked Sasuke at the start, Hinata liked Naruto).

I think we can rest assured. Kishi is a GREAT storyteller, and if there was going to be NaruHina, then Kishi would have developed their relationship a little more at least. Ever since the arc, we haven't even seen Hinata think of Naruto - not even in that scene about hobbies!

There's also something really nice about a future Hokage and the bearer of an incredible power/curse falling in love with an "ordinary" girl.

Ash, GO FOR IT! Wow, six weeks off... that's a month and a half! I'll look forward to seeing more vintage Sharingank stories.

Oh, I noticed something really weird about Terranigma. The hero is a blond, and his love is a pink-haired girl. He's strong but not too smart, and she's really smart and caring. He leaves on a long trip to get stronger and save the world, while she realises she misses him terribly and loves him. Deja vu?

Of course, I want Sakura to be an asskicking medic-nin rather than just sit at home...

Agreed, she's done too much sitting at home *nods* I recently downloaded and watched episode 103 (I don't normally get the episodes :/, only the manga) Sakura kicks ass! She's hella strong! Did the filler people collaborate with Kishi or is this just rank bile produced by too little Sakura love?

Don't forget to put in a fun NaruSaku moment or two for Words in a Page! XD You can't have Shika and Ino be the only couple having some fun. I see Sasuke being jealous as he see or hears Naruto and Sakura having an intimate moment (only because Naruto has a great girl and HE doesn't!) and stuffs himself with Ho-Hos for comfort food. He could be DOUBLY jealous when Shika and Ino get going later. XD
