That's a good question. Honestly, if I hadn't had OP at the time, I might have just lost faith entirely. It hurt a lot to have characters that once meant so much to me become complete and total strangers to me and become irreparably broken beyond recognition. Naruto and Sakura were two of my favorite characters all time, second to Luffy and Nami. At the time, Naruto was my second favorite manga, but it kinda got to the point where the manga was dragging, and a large part of me read the manga partially because it was a way to waste time before Mangapanda put out the OP chapter. After the ending, it was OP that kept me afloat, and the combination of OP and TG that acted kind of like therapy to me and helped heal the wounds. Had it not been for OP, I might not have even started TG because of the letdown.

I think a part of the reason that some mighty have dropped manga completely is that we don't have the exposure to manga culture that people in Japan do? Overseas, Naruto seemed to be lauded as one of the pillars of Japanese manga, and with such a reputation, it might be mistaken by some that the popularity reflects the actual quality of the story telling. So in a sense, because we're not so ingrained in the culture, some might be led to believe that Naruto is not only a pillar in manga, but also a model of how a manga should be written (due to its success). With that, they might mistakenly believe that the ending might be a common type of ending in most manga, which probably isn't the case.

It'd be lying if I said Naruto didn't damage me for the first few weeks after the ending. I was seriously absentminded a lot and my grades even suffered from it a little. I was internally so hurt by the ending that I stopped touching other mangas and animes for a while... I didn't have the energy to devote myself to anything else. What OP was to you, that was Naruto to me until the end. I loved Naruto and Sakura, and still do. Kishi trampled and spit on us fans, and shattered the trust that many of us had bestowed on Naruto.

Naruto for sure is a gateway for many people to the manga and anime world overseas. Hell, Naruto exploded back then where I lived. It wasn't my first manga (thank god!), but it still meant the world to me.

Luckily, I didn't let this crappy work totally get the better of me. I read TG and was cured in just 150+ chapters. The Breaker, Magi, NnT, BnHA... They all restored my faith.

Oh yeah, I really hope so ! At least, I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed if I watch that anime. (Plus, it's really gonna help me forget Naruto )

 

People really love this character want that character to play a huge role in the story. What's you're take on this topic?

 

 

Me: I'm not one of those authors who just writes stories for the fans. I only write the stories I feel are the most noteworthy to tell, basically I love the fans for their support but I'm not gonna alter what I've already planned for the story. Authors that only write stories and make characters important because of the fans demand then  clearly these authors have no interest in their story. 

If only Kishi was more like you  ! If you write a book, I'm definitely gonna read it !

Look at how immature some of them are ! These kind of comments are exactly why I'm not even interested about what they say, think and all... And Kishi is stupid enough to listen to them too... I pity the ones that are in the NH/SS fandom who aren't like them...

When you see that a lot of people think that 50SoG is an amazing book ....

 

Or just start over from Pain Arc and up with a writer that cares. That's my wish.

Or maybe just after the CPR scene, it could be possible for them to change things in the anime... but coming from SP.... It would be just unacceptable...

Well there is Onodera from Nisekoi, she is kind of like Hinata

 

Yes while they do have similarities they are some basic differences, for one she tries harder to get the MC's attention, and it's always done in a comical fashion, plus she's allot more selfless than Hinata, Hinata will drop her teammates for Naruto, her own cousins death was forgotten while his body was still warm, because of Naruto's big warm hands, Onodera cares for all her friends, in the recent arc when her love rival was going to leave the country she wasn't happy at all, but wanted her friend to stay, and last chapter when it was announced she was staying, Ona was the one who hugged her first.

 

Besides the setting is completely different, it's a harem love comedy, we have to expect these types of tropes in a love comedy. Plus she's not the sole lead female, she shares that spotlight with Chitoge who is the original Female Lead, So i'm not counting it, she has to be the lead on her own without a backup of other tropes to balance her out. Also can't say that girl from Bakuman, she has less onscreen time than TenTen did in Naruto, And for the same reason as Onadera. Megumi from Souma doesn't count either.

Yeah, I was in a really bad way when the ending came out. I was already incredibly stressed and going through some rl issues, it was finals week, and I kinda slipped into a depression for a time. Naruto and Sakura meant so much to me, I still love the real ones but that ending crushed me.

I wonder how many people have stopped watching manga in general due to the shock from NARUTO.
My ex-best friend told me he doesn't want to have anything to do with Japanese culture after the NARUTO ending. I guess for some people the shock are bigger than others.

It's a pity though because I'd say NARUTO would be ranked very bad in terms of quality of story in comparison to the others.

 

I've know my intake of manga has declined allot since the end, I didn't even realise it at first, but I looked at my HDD and saw I had downloaded so many animes for the Autumn and Winter season and not watched any of them, As for reading manga, I'm sticking with the manga I read, but I haven't picked anything substantial up, (so nothing plot driven), and I've avoided anything new from the Jump series.

 

It's not even Anime and Manga, my interest in Japanese games has dulled as well, I was so excited for the new Tales game before Naruto ended, and now i'm struggling to keep my interest, even the announcement of Street Fighter 5 a series I've loved for over a quarter of a century didn't excite me that much.

 

I think Naruto's end had a negative impact on allot of people even those who didn't care for the pairings and didn't react badly to the end, both my nephews watched anime and read manga before, but they've both completely left the genre over the past few months, I think  atleast on a small level the crappy ending effected them on a subconcious level.

this series is being milked like no tomorrow. i check it out every now and then, but i'm not nearly as into it as i used to be.

Because he wrote it for 15 years...not because its amazing..still doesn't deserve it...DiCaprio couldn't get an Oscar when he deserves it but Kishi can get an award for messing up his story and characters?! I will forever be mad about DiCaprio not getting an oscar lol
