Whoose to say what will happen 20 years from now? it took them about that time to officially lay out the canon couple for FF7. They also had a huge gap--ten+ years I believe after the original game that RETCONNED a ton of crap and then another game after that, that retconned stuff. 

Edit: and also a movie before any of those that retconned stuff...SE, not a known giver of f**cks apparently. Not to mention all their novellas that retconned things. It very little wonder they need a book to explain what is canon and whats not every few years.

ACC was good, Crisis core too...It was DOC that really wanked people up, along with the novella "Maiden Who Travels The Planet" and BEFORE crisis IMO.

Last order was good, but not as a part of canon. ( its also not counted anymore but I like it for the feels. It was great seeing Cloud freak out.)
