I.. never observe character. I tried it. Because one day I read a forum about a certain anime/manga and fans talked this and that and started that day I knew that manga/anime didn't only has main story. Every character has their own story. I wonder how come people can observe those characters. Well, at least I know if something's good

There is many episodes in Gintama, that tell a simple story with some idea in it, thus even childrens can take a moral from it, and I like how it's simple, while many of animes nowadays tries to make everything difficult like moral questions and etc.

No, not omake, just as arcs is anime always goes long, but in gintama there is many stories like episode=story, like day of Hijikata or day of Matsudaira, etc.
