Well, off to write Sakura appreciation post. Before I go, here's one question:

After going back to anime (me), I realized the studio really likes to add more or emphasis more on the most likely endgame pairing. Note: I say most likely because it's up to the author to actually close the deal or make it like "Well they definitely best candidate but I won't close." That said would you say that the anime increased your liking for NS or any other pairings in general? Why?

You know, I wouldn't go as far as shipping NH, but I did grow to like it from fillers, but that's the thing. It was filler. So after learning about that, I asked myself, "So what did happen to the relationship?" Not much. Because of that, now I usually check the manga afterward because I don't want to be foolish enough to write down, only for people to tell me, "It was filler." Luckily, it's been a while that I see a difference, so hooray for me.

I was growing to like it, but I think year 1 and a half in of filler, I learned that I was in filler and I was like "WHAT!" Don't ask why I didn't figure sooner. I was late boomer in anime/manga universe.

Yeah, this kind of reminds me the time I realized what fillers are. This was after I watched the 4 final seasons of Naruto Classic. It completely destroyed the experience of watching them. I even try to give it a shot sometimes but it doesn't last long. It is hard to give a damn about something completely irrelevant for the story line. Ignorance is a bliss I guess.

Tell me about it. But there's no need for embarrassment since we all were naive one day. Even now the fillers are something very common and accepted as official, at least that's the impression I have here. It is very rare to see someone outside the internet questioning their relevance, but this might probably be because the majority doesn't really care too much about it.

Yeah, I guess that's true. Still, imagine trying to go down in Internet and debate with people, whether it's about pairing or something else, and then they would say, "It's filler," you'll be like "Really? Whoops." Like if I were to say that this one guy from another anime also have the demon power, it turns out that it only happened in anime.

It's a bit messy when the anime goes beyond. To be honest, Naruto anime don't go beyond in pairing wise, because it's clear already, but they do go beyond with a character or two. Yes, I'm talking about Hinata. She's the definition of create-a-character. My problem is that she has given new exclusive powerup or powerup that will later contradict the original material. Also, her character got extended far greatly that it's not even Hinata anymore. That's the problem. Stay in one area. So it's not the pairing that I'm bothered, it's the character.

I'm not listening to him/her as they either don't know what they are talking about or they are making up a BS reason for liking Sakura as a heroine which shows bias.

The first chapter Sakura was in was the same chapter she became Naruto's team mate lol.
How long did it take for her to put herself on the line for him against those sound ninja? lol.

Show someone showing Sakura "appreciation" without bias.

That's denial in it's fullest form. I suggest you find someone more reasonable to debate with because this person obviously is in denial and they gave no reasons for hating Sakura. This person just hates Sakura. Plain and Simple. Don't waste you're time with people in that category.

 

EDIT: Talking with a person that has a lot of hate and malice for a anime character says a lot about that person as a whole. It's funny how one character can bring out the worse in people. Sakura's power>>>

First of all, sound ninja happens in the second arc. Second, she was placed in the same team as Naruto, BUT that didn't mean she likes him just because of that. She was still being immature and didn't like him at all. It was the first arc that creates her doubt on her own words. If you remember when Kakashi praised Naruto, Sakura admitted that he was something else but, and it ended there as to say, "Sure, I give him that credit, but doubt he can be like that forever." In fact, in tree climbing chakra control training, she still like "Told you he can't do it. Now he wants to give up," but instead, caught her off-guard with Naruto asking her advice.

It was until Chuunin Exam that makes you question in her newfound respect for Naruto. She almost gave up everything on the test just for Naruto to continue his goal to Hokage. Do you think she would have done that back then? No, because she didn't like him and she even say so herself in chapter 4. It's taken as a joke, but that's only to calm the atmosphere as to say, "Ouch, but don't worry, she'll come around, Naruto." Then, the fight with Kiba is what we finally learn that she has respect Naruto in a whole new way. Before that, you're in position of questioning whether she really respects him not as a teammate but as a friend.

In other anime/manga, note not all if you want to be that specific, once the heroine meets the protagonist, it's "who are you" then, "thanks for coming" and then friendship is formed. In Naruto, they already know each other; however, Sakura didn't like Naruto and she has a legitimate reason rather than "cause parents said so." Let's face it, Naruto did this to himself, so he has to finish it with a completion, not depletion.

I don't mind you shared my link. If there's hate, so be it.

I don't mind people hating Sakura. Hell I dislike many other fictional characters. The only one I hate tho was book Umbridge from Harry Potter (HP fans will understand me ).

Not all neutral fans. But Some. The most recent cases I was refering to happened on MF & AS.

 

For an example a member from As keeps calling Sakura a white mage. And that was the only reason why she is still alive. Can someone explain to me what the term "white mage" means? And why do people use it to discribe Sakura in a negative light?

I don't think Sakura hate stems from the start of the series. I think it starts from the line of tsunderes. For example. I disliked Kagome a bit from inuyasha because I thought her "sit boy" thing was annoying but otherwise I liked her character. I know the level of hate for kagome is ten times worse than Sakura.  So when Sakura comes along now that hate is transferred. That's  what I Think.

White Mage is most common in role-playing games as they are characters who performs healing abilities, such as healing, recover from dead, antidotes, etc. They also provide supports such as haste to increase speed, or barrier to reduce damage. They can fight but they're weak in that department but if you train them long, they become strong in attack. They don't have dark magic as in abilities of offense but they can still fight physically and with smart play of white magic, it will become a bad threat to villains. It makes the matter worse when that Mage has two others to do strong offense. Such a dumb argument...

It's hard to say, because when I first watched the anime I was a NaruHina/ SasuSaku shipper.  Then, I got behind like crazy.  It was a year ago, when I rewatched the series from the beginning, and by that time I knew what fillers were, and was a NaruSaku shipper by then.  When I saw their little moments in Part 1, I appreciated the pairing more because I liked the subtle interactions.  In part 2, right now I'm still in Pain arc, I noticed the focus pairing wise has shifted to focus on Sakura's POV and feelings most of the time, and I enjoyed that too.  After I finished Part 1 though, I read the manga starting from Part 2, when I started watching Shippuden, and compare them to discern what's filler.  Later I focused on the manga completely, and that's why I'm still in the Pain arc in anime.

Oh yes, I know Kagome gets a lot of undeserved hate as well.  I know a fanfiction author that bashed her to oblivion all because he didn't like the sits.  It was really immature.

If Sakura was among rookies people would bash her for not using her own power and that she was brought to rookie level status (since she is a MC). If she is not people still bash her.

also high level white mages have powerful summons  (Eiko & Garnet from Final Fantasy IX)

i know right.. i'm confused by how people think k9 is more relevant than sakura.. even though sakura and tsunade are helping thousands of shinobis..
