Are you living in a dorm or house? Or maybe you move out? I hear that it's common on western that youngsters tend to move out from parents house.
I finished that in a day or two if I'm not mistaken. The early games are quite easy to finish.

It appears on many US movies about college http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dormitory
Haha, nope. Not living there. I wonder why you consider our lifestyle closer to western? In anything - you closer to USA and so it must affect your living style more than ours.

Hmm, we call western to foreigners, except they are who are clearly foreigners from Asian. British are western, american are westerns, dutch are western ![]()
And no, we don't do that. Most of us usually live with parents until we're married
But yeah, if the children has money to buy their own house, they might move out when they finish the school too.

Extended family ties?
We practice that in here too. But my father encourages me to be independent once I graduate in college.
Most of classmates live in dorms or apartments since their houses are too far away from school

Oh, intresting. We call those, based on their position to ours.
Buy a house? Well, we've discussed it before, your economy may have some issues, but totally not at level of ours. Here - you won't buy a house easy.

I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean with "extended family ties"..
That happens here too..
I live in my house but most of friends stay at dorm since their houses are far from college.
And talking about independent, independent is like earning money by himself/herself, while having a house isn't really important after graduate from school. It's important but they can collect the money leisurely. Except if the person is smart to save some money and has skill to manage that. Sadly I'm not good at managing money. ![]()

Yeah, what can I say.. habit from people from the past. They call western to anyone whose hair is blonde and skin is fair ![]()
That.. plus land is getting less while number of buildings are getting more and more. The price of a land (what I mean is something that will be used to build the house, not the land like island) is getting high while its size is getting small
I actually want to have a medium size house with colonial style like colonial style here with garden that is not small but not really big too. It's gonna be hard ![]()

An extended family is a family that extends beyond the immediate family, consisting of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins all living nearby or in the same household. An example is a married couple that lives with either the husband or the wife's parents.I'm sorry but I don't know what you mean with "extended family ties"..

It's rather important to save money (I prefer saving my money in a bank usually time deposit). My parents are getting old and I'm sure they would need to use their own money for themselves. Right now, I am still leeching on my parents until I finish my bachelor's degree. XD
Well there is no need to buy a house. There are plenty of condominium units and apartments that is offered for monthly rent.
