Sakura is likeable, but one of the main reasons that some fans are giving her a hard time, is because Hinata had some support in part 1, many people started to like her a lot, like seeing some fans liking her and then it dragged all the way to many other. So, they started seeing the threat from Naruto loving Sakura and wanting it for Hinata... and there we have the result... fans bashing the heroine

It's something like the equation of Shadow Uzumaki that he posted it like a week and a half ago.

I think the biggest reason was because many people don't understand slapstick humor. Sakura's aggression was a turn off for some and then her looks in part 2 were another. Another thing was despite Naruto ding everything for her, she still only had feelings for Sasuke. Now I know that last part isn't particularly true, but it's meant more for a romantic point of view, not that she only cares for Sasuke, but even the romantic part is pretty loose. It just goes to show that a lot of guys are shallow when it comes to stuff like this

Disagree there, the problem was Sakura wasnt too likeable on part 1, she was annoying along with Naruto himself(his voice).
Now about pairing is the fact that Sakura only recognized Naruto on the ending, put all the panels you want but i can counter every one, she only truly recognized him at the end of the arc.
Now going back to pairing was the fact that Naruto loved Sakura and did everything to protect her, while Sakura didnt acknowledge it and Sasuke getting all the credit for Naruto's actions(Gaara's fight) NAruto got heartbroken 3 times on part 1 which is bought back on "Sakura's confession", bridge's hug(one-sided), Hospital(one-sided) the promise(one-sided) she was very selfish on part 1 in contrast to Naruto undying and hurtfull(hence why winning her love over was never an obssession) love on part 1 there was Hinata a shy girl.

On part 2.
Sakura was more gentle with Naruto but Naruto thinks that she can never give affection to him, which is why everytime she shows affection towards him he simply get surprised, Sakura's hug, feeding scene...

Narusaku had a lot of downsides this comes from me who wasnt a shipper.

I know that she wasn't too likeable in part 1. I was referring that despite that, there was people who liked her, and one of them is me XD. That's what I meant as likeable, that even in part 1, there was some who liked her.

About the pairing stuff, I didn't mention any of it. I was saying that some fans got teased by the fact that Naruto loves Sakura, and they wanted that for Hinata. What some fans wish for.

Yes, her tsundere character is the very main reason. Some fans don't know about tsundere characters. As about Naruto and Sasuke, well, it depends on how every person takes it.

Sakura's character is very realistic like humans are, and not defined as a very fiction character in the way she is.

Actually, all of the characters has some extent to how the humans are XD

Sakura has achieved it more than the others, and that what makes her character special. She loves and cling to feelings, and have hard time with her moving on process. She tries her best in achieving what she wants. She has mixed emotions in hard situations. It's like every human being would go through. It's just that they don't see it in that way, that's all.

Obito never got the girl of hes dreams if naruto has the same thing and will settle for hinata its quite not original we have the same outcome as with obito dont we?

ps did love that they both have the sad look makes it even more touching for the viewer to get what they are going through.

I still liked Sakura of course. But I was young and was going through puberty at the time, so that really clouded my judgement

How could you say that, they both witnessed their loves towards their man but it can still happen (Obitos dies and reunite with Rin on afterlife) as an example, Minato and kushina did happened.

I would put Jiraiya and Tsunade but i dont count it as a parallel. (despite suceeding but they both knew it was too late)

On a certain point of view all the parallels succeed.

Sorry for change of topic but I found these interesting views of a NH fan yesterday. I don't agree with it all but I want to see what you guys think.

Hinata gets on a level that no other character in the series does. Sakura tried, in 469, to get Naruto to see others cared for him and wanted to stop putting himself in danger. You see ... Naruto has this complex ... he doesn't view himself as worth saving. Hinata cut through that barrier with the gentle slap; talk-no jutsu and connected with his character in a way no one else seemingly could.

Hinata understands being lonely. Perhaps not to the maginitude as Naruto ... but in a way - she lost her parents (her father, quite literally, handed her over to Kurenai stating that she was worthless and a lost cause) - see Naruto 78, page 10.

No one can have complete emphathy for each other ... but really what is she supposed to do to try and help Naruto with his fixation with Sasuke? You say she doesn't know about his bond with Sasuke and doesn't help him. But really what can she do? Tell him he's wrong? Argue with him? Help sneak off to go find him ... About the only thing she can do is be ready to help him ... to ... you know ... standing beside him, holding his hand.

I think Naruto's feelings for her will develop naturally as this enigmatic girl, who likes to fly out of nowhere and say things that speak to who he is, begins to take a larger and more active role in his life.

Nartuto does love Sakura. He does not, however, hold the idea of romance with her. He doesn't disregard his feelings for her, his feelings have changed to be her friend and comrade; not the ambitions of a lover.

Hinata is no longer a background character. She's not going to end up replacing any main characters ... but she's recently become a rather active component of things. You know ... doing what she does best -- getting Naruto to man up and get things done.

Hinata is ultimately becoming somewhat more like Naruto while he is mellowing into a character that is similiar to hers. There is still a fairly substantial difference between the two - but they are both very concerned about those around them. If you think Hinata merely copy and pasted Naruto's nindo into her own life ... you're really kind of missing her character. That is what she always wanted to be - Naruto was merely the example that inspired the release. if it were merely a copy-paste admiration of Naruto, it would have crumbled with him during the events of 615.

Sakura's similiar to Naruto? ... Only in that she can be brash. That's it.

I'm going to point this out a lot ... but Chapter 615 really highlights the difference between Naruto, Sakura, and Hinata, particularly when compared to Sakura's confession, and Chapters 78-79. Naruto and Hinata are supportive to those around them in an emotional context. I've said it before ... Naruto and Hinata inspire each other ... it's what they do. Compared to Sakura - who ... well ... the results speak for themselves. Her approach, her attitude, her logic is all completely scrambled compared to how Naruto and Hinata behave.

That's not to say Naruto and Hinata are identical - but they most certainly have things in common and some similiar perspectives and biases in their thinking.

Anyone want to pick this apart for fun? I'm especially interested with the opinions on Hinata having the most profound connection with Naruto and able to get through to him, mostly 'cause it reminds me of Jame's "Naruto's wall" thread.

For a few more votes (like 10 or more) but is winning!! I'm kinda surprised but happy! I never expected that NaruSaku could gain so many votes in a western poll.

Wait...what about Kurama? It was him reminding Naruto about what his parents did at the time of his birth that really got through to him, not only Hinata. And is that person forgetting that Neji also stated the same thing first, except he used himself as an example? All Hinata did was basically explain to Naruto what he'd meant. This view is completely biased and puts her on a higher pedestal than where she belongs. If this is really all it takes for Naruto to fall for someone, then he might as well fall for Neji and Kurama too.

And where exactly have we been shown this? If he doesn't have the ambitions of a lover, then why bother thinking of confessing to her after he brought Sasuke back? Why would he get so excited at the thought of her feeding him some ramen? If his views of her have changed so much, then why was he so furious when she said she'd loved him? I understand him being upset because he figured she was lying, but his reaction was way over the top. Besides, why didn't he just say right then and there that he only viewed her as a close comrade now?

She was given a shining moment. Of course there would be more focus on her than usual. But she's still a background character. And doing what she does best? This is the only time Hinata has been able to "get Naruto to man up", hence why this is good development for her character since she's basically inspiring and protecting the person she's wanted to for so long, rather than him doing that for her. This is almost a repeat of their last interaction together. She was down because Naruto had to protect her again, but it was THIS time that she did the protecting.

Sakura's similiar to Naruto? ... Only in that she can be brash. That's it.

I'm not even going to comment on this, considering it would take too long. But they have other similarities.

I've said it before ... Naruto and Hinata inspire each other ... it's what they do.

That's an interesting word choice there. "Inspire". It's mostly Naruto that has done the inspiring though.

And I'm not even going to take up the rest. It's way too opinionated.

tbh I don't think we'll win in the end in that poll, NH is very popular here, but I'm really happy with the amount of votes that we got. That reminds me of another poll that I saw in a popular Naruto group on deviantart, NH won but NS was in 2nd with a small difference between the two, it shows that in fact NS isn't so unpopular here as we think (or at least as I thought.)

But they should have waited the movie to be released here in the west before making this poll...
