You're right about the breaks, of course. And I see he has been writing other stories over the summer, so he is still writing. I just have some armchair-opinions about the length of time a story sits being in direct proportion to the dropping likelihood that the author will complete it. The longer you're away, the harder it is to get back into sync with a creative project. And unless you're really committed to finishing, I suspect it's easier for most to just let the story go. But it kind of sucks for the reader. (But I completely understand that life happens, too.)

Anyway, off to read his other stuff!

edit: in the interest of full disclosure, eating my own words, and all that.... I happened to glance and see just how much of my morning writing time I had frittered away thinking about fanfics and lamenting about how authors sometimes don't finish their work. I am now going to write. Not read. Not do other stuff. Write. Now.

I agree on both counts. While I can think of two stories that recently updated after over a year in hiatus, that isn't the norm. And when I'm working on a project and take a break, it hard for me to get back into it.

It's probably ok if you take one morning off to read fanfics instead of writing. But don't let it happen again!

Scary health stuff has turned out to be ok. LadyCupcake, I have to tell you again, knowing someone was thinking of my story was a ray of sunlight in some very dark days. But everything's ok, and now it's back to life as usual. So - fingers crossed - I'll be posting more regularly! And the next chapter is one of my favorites! All naru/saku goodness! (Or rather, Katsuro/Sakura!)


I liked this story, as well. I was trying to figure out how she would resolve the conflict and mend Sakura/Naruto's relationship.... Guess she's still trying to resolve it too.

I hope things will be better now. Also, great chapter D I can't wait for the next one narusaku goodness?

I know this isn't the place for off topic posts, but is anyone else having problems viewing stuff on FanFiction.net? I've been getting errors the last few hours from the site saying certain things are not there or just general errors.

I've noticed the same thing.

I couldn't get to my profile. And then when I was re-reading your fic, ff.net lost chapters 13, 15 and 17 - at least for a while. Fanfiction.net isn't saying anything about it either - so either they are unaware of the problem or don't know how to fix it and are trying to finesse it until they do.

Implied NS in story and definitely part of the In Memoriam Series (which features NS as one of the primary pairings) but yeah, I agree.

It's not a part of the story's focus, so that's why I didn't crosspost it here personally.
