Pacific Rim 9/10 Definitely one of the biggest surprises to me this year. I thought for sure they'd screw this up and having it end up like a pointless giant robot battle, but it turned out well and despite some cliches, I thought overall Pacific Rim was awesome, each of the Jagers were unique and represented their countries well. I hope we'll get a sequel because the movie deserves it and it seems like Warner Bros. is now the people to go to when it comes to giant monster films since Godzilla is also gonna be from them.
The Wolverine 8/10 Saw the film on Sunday and I'll admit I kept my exceptions low because of Origins, but this was definitely better and Hugh Jackman always nails the role as Wolverine. It was nice to see Wolverine go to Japan like he did in the comics, but there was a few things that bugged me because Wolverine knows Japanese and he's pretty knowledge in it, otherwise it was good, but the fight with Silver Samurai was kinda cheap I though.
The film is about a group of magicians who somehow are able to use "magic" to steal lots of money and a group of agents who try to figure out how it's happening and to catch them in the act. Not sure what to make of this movie really. It wants to be suspenseful, a thriller, an actioner, and a magic trick. I get that it wants to play as one big magic trick, one giant slight of hand to the audience, but it never really works out that way. My biggest example would be really spoilery so I'll leave it alone.
The moral of the story is that there is magic... or is it don't be jerk because you'll get your come uppins? If it's a movie that wants one to believe that there's magic in the world it does a poor job because it debunks every magic trick in the film. Maybe it's to not be so greedy... Don't know. It never really chooses one. Nor does it do a decent job of making one solid.
Suffice it to say the only thing I really will remember from this is that the camera cuts away and moves around waaaay waaaay too much. I get that it's to give the impression of slight of hand... but that doesn't mean anyone has to like it. And I wanted to. The trailer intrigued me.
It's had a few weeks out in theaters, but I've had a load of travel and work, so I haven't been able to go to the movies until now. I was not disappointed! All my family/friends/colleagues recommended it, but I was going to go see it whether the reviews were good or bad haha.
Pacific Rim 5/5
Not gonna lie, the score is a bit influenced by the fact that I absolutely love this genre and am a fan of Guillermo's works. Growing up in a household full of boys who are huge fans of such things as Gundam, Evangelion, Power Rangers, etc, nobody would have let me live if I didn't go to see it haha. I get easily invested into movies, especially when the story as interesting as this one. I have special crushes on Mako AND Raleigh (as well as the Russian pilots). This type of movie is really hard to pull off, because it could turn into a plotless mech vs monster movie that doesn't make a lot of sense, but it DID MAKE SENSE and there was so much more story to the jaegers, the kaijus and all of that. To me it was one of the more colorful and enjoyable movies of the summer.

THE FOREHEAD TOUCH!!! Seriously better than any kiss in the entire history of movies ever.
If there is a sequel, fine, but I think the movie wrapped up nicely. Now I have to try and explain to my mother about the movie.

So I hear they are thinking of a "kaiju + jaeger fusion". Now I can't wait T-T

I don't know if I was just expecting Shaun and Hot Fuzz, and maybe that's why this just didn't click with me. The basic premise is about a bunch of older guys are convinced by their friend, who through tragic incidents is going through a mid-life crisis, to go back to their home town and complete a 12 stage pub-crawl they attempted long ago. They find out that their town has been invaded by beings from outer space. The movie is very slow in the beginning until the discovery, almost pain-staking. I'm older but I don't think I've reached the age where I can appreciate what they're going through here, and in turn the beginning is boring. Not a single laugh with the crowd I saw the movie with in the first 20 or so minutes. The action sequences are over the top and hilarious, as has come to be expected from Wright, Pegg, and Frost, and that's kind of what keeps this thing going. And like Shaun and Fuzz, the dramatic aspects of the movie are very heartfelt, and if this movie hadn't been marketed as a comedy, I think I would've liked the movie more, but it wants to be a comedy and just isn't very successful at it.

The world's end 9/10
Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead & Hott Fuzz) is back with another film, this one featuring an alien invasion that overruns a town that he and his friends from high school, revisited. This movie was a lot of fun for me. I had a lot of points where I was laughing out loud in the theater. This film was probably the most fun I've had all summer. Can't recommend it enough.

Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters 6.5/10
As a person who has read the PJO series pretty much 100x over I was a little shaken up with them adapting the books into movies. The first movie The Lightning Thief felt like more of a test run than anything and really didnt follow the book. But the second movie pretty much followed the book with a few minor tweaks. Great acting and great actions scenes just they added things that shouldnt have been there in the first place.

tsss...guys, I have a confession to make. I just watched the Lord of the Rings for the first time yesterday. It's autumn break where I live and my friends are off to vacations. So I thought why not?, although I'm 12 years too late. Everytime I mentioned it to one of my friends I was told I'm crazy, so I gave it a chance because of the hype. It lived up to it, and I can completely understand why it's considered a classic.
I'll give it an 8/10, I liked it very much. But it was superlong and I hate cliffhanger endings. I understand why they had to do that though, they have to follow the book. I wouldn't like it if they had shortened the movie, but I had to take a few breaks.
And..I now know the origins of many memes!! My favourite characters are Aragorn and Legolas, they are loyal, sweet and kind. I also like the main character, and I do have a thing for blue eyes which I am so lucky to have myself.
My least favourites are those stupid two friends of Frodo that I can not remember the names of, those dummies only caused trouble for the group..almost. They stabbed some orcs after all.
And I know Gandalf is not dead, such a major character that I've heard so much about simply doesn't die(lol) in the first half of the first movie.

F-f-f-f-first t-t-time? O_O. I remember seeing those the day they opened in the theater in eighth grade or so.
Enjoy, it's a great trilogy.
I know First time in 2013. XD
Thanks, middle-way through the 2nd movie now. : )

Anyway I forgot to say that I completely ship Aragorn x Arwen! And that I can understand why the Hobbit movie is considered a joke compared to this, I mean I don't even remember a single shed of blood in that one.

Merry and Pippen are my favorite

Well the Hobbit was written as a children's novel so its similarly light hearted.

-I loved 10's introductory scene in the film and how he always got the Zygon bit wrong.
-I loved Hurt's interactions with The Moment.
-I loved how 8.5 parked his TARDIS far away because he was ashamed of what he was going to do.
-Zygon updated design! Awesome!
-Peter Capaldi's eyes. Wow! Seems he's going to be a more severe Doctor.
-Even if just via stock footage, to see all the Doctors working together is awesome. And the final shot is awesome too!
Dislikes:
-Not too big of a dislike, I understand that he was there to fight and save people from the Daleks, but why did he take the time to shoot the words "No More" into a wall? Could've saved more people in that time, yeah?
-The solution -- the gravity of their decisions and pain based off of that memeroy in NuWho series 1-4 become as weightless as a "It was all just a dream" ending. Yes, to them they think they did the deed, but they technically didn't. It's a dramatic irony that doesn't make their feelings false but makes us aware that they needn't feel that way at all. Also what the heck happens with the "End of Time" storyline? They're pulled from the time-lock in End of Time but if they were never in a time-lock? I mean, if the Zygons can break through from the other side, why can't Gallifrey?
-It's not actually Ten's Rose. :(
-The Zygon storyline is basically a subplot played as a main plot point but then remains a subplot that is skirted under a rug. (Seriously once they remember who's who, is the compromise still going to stand? Also, even it does with the 3 Zygons present, once they return to base and try to pitch it, are the other Zygons going to go along with it?
-No Strax! :(
Questions:
-So he only has 13 regenerations... and the Tom Baker bit... does that mean he can only take on up to 13 faces but can regenerate as many times as he wants so long as his body isn't killed a second time during regeneration?
-Would Eccleston have been the John Hurt character had he decided to come on board?
Wishes:
-I wish they could've shown more why the Time Lords were hated as much as the Daleks in the time war. What atrocious acts did they commit? I know they spoke of using all of their forbidden weapons minus The Moment.

Thor; 7/10
I warmed up to the main character eventually(didn't like him at first), maybe because he was hilarious.
Jane Foster was alright, but I saw no personality.. and while Natalie Portman usually a good actress, that wasn't the case when they zoomed in on her face and she said "oh my god". I tolerated Foster, but her friend was incredibly annoying.
The reason it only gets a 7 is because it was a cliche. And not just a little bit, it just made the movie so lame andcsuited for people of age 12 and under. : ( If not for Loki, I would've given it a six. The actor Tom Hiddleston was really really good. Chris Hemsworth too, I didn't know he was that good.
I wish they would've liked to see the other northern Gods as well. I think they could've done that in the Marvel comics, but I know they had no place here. Even though Odin has more than one son, and I've never heard of Loki before. I would also have liked if the mother had a bigger role, and she is a God(ess) as well and represents love. I love badass mothers. The last part is not really criticism, just a personal wish. ;p
I don't think I mentioned any spoilers here, so I'll skip tagging it as such.
