Naruto really needs to get on the ball with romance. It has everything good in an anime except for one thing. WHERE'S THE LOVE?!

Yeah, I agree. I think Sakura will realize her feelings first, try to tell him, fail consecutively, and then blurt it out stupidly, Midori no Hibi Ayase style. XD That would be cool!
Either that or Naruto gives up caring about Sakura's supposed feelings for Sasuke and tells her before he leaves for a mission or something. (and maybe he'll tell her that it was him in chapter 3, if she hasn't realized it already.)
But that's just my take on it! ^^

Good rant. I've seen an explosion in SasuSaku fanfics recently. One of them even had the words "SASUSAKU FOREVER!!!" in its summary.

They're in full denial mode.

I've never understood how SasuSaku could be appealing because of how fake it feels to me (Sasuke not loving Sakura, Sakura playing "good little girl" and not expressing herself). Sure, in the looks department it may have some appeal. But I agree with Geno that they're just painting a rose-tinted (well, more like a thick lathering than a tint) picture of their favourite avenger and they've REALLY started to believe their own fanfics and statements.

I remember us correcting them on many manga scenes when they blurted out non-existent lines and gestures. It's like they got their wires crossed.

Tundotcom, the romance is there in the manga. It's just quite subtle and Kishi likes to take it slow. Give it time, and we will see something really bloom. He used to scatter the romance at least a few chapters apart, but it might speed up a bit. There's big SakuNaru in 245, no fluff in 246 but they admired and were proud of each other, and Naruto promised to stop being silly in front of her. A perfect example of how Sakura "calms" him down and stops him going over the edge!

I think Kishi will continue to hint at feelings for both Naruto and Sakura, nudging them ever closer. We could see a talk or two between them on the upcoming mission...

I've seen that one. It was something... I don't remember the title, but I remember the Author. That Hatori Snow Drop girl. She's on my moron list just for the asinine summary.

I honestly believe that Kishi-san is trying to make a point here. Every action that we ever take has consequences, be they good or bad. There are going to be consequences for Sasuke.

Geno, it's good to know you only get irritated. A fully mad Geno would not be a pretty sight.

You know, we're seeing a big turnaround. A lot of people are saying Naruto and Sakura are very cool. Naruto is very likely to be seen as cooler than Sasuke in Part 2, and I find it very hard to see how Hinata can even come close to Sakura's debut in Part 2. Hinata's nice but plain - and how can she top Sakura's development and new look? Sakura also gets on fantastically well with Naruto these days (even clearly showing feelings for him) so Hinata doesn't have the "likes Naruto" angle to herself anymore.

Hopefully the SasuSaku/NaruHina Canon fanatics will become an even smaller minority.

that's true. I suppose there are three possibilities. First, that he returns to Konoha. Second, that he becomes the regal bad-guy after Orochimaru and Akatsuki. Third, he dies before either happens.

And that's very true of our pairing. It never used to be something that many fans would consider, but now we're winning. We have always been the majority because we hold the actual evidence from the manga.

I don't know. I think I've been reading too many of those "OMG I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HINATA AGAIN I HOPE SHE HAS GIANT B00BZ!!1!1!!1!" posts they're starting to corrupt my mind.
