I think Sakura needs to almost lose Naruto like in the OVA for everything to come full circle.

If this is truly a war, it will be logical to have them to talk one more time before the true climax. Well, at least that's how Gundam works if you haven't notice yet. The possible couple talks to each other one last time because since it's a war, anything can happen. When you think about it, in Pain Invasion arc, Sakura did what a lot of tsunadere do, hit the man for making her worry too much. After all, Naruto was all alone in the battlefield and Kyuubi appearance only troubled her more.

So far, she has played tsunadere role intact. Now, we just have to wait and see.

If I know well, pairing confirmation usually happens before the climax or the last thing of the story. At least that's what I read/watch for the past 10 years. In this case, romance portion usually happen at the very end. I can list them, but it will be spoilers to others.

It's not a guarantee, but it sure happened a lot.

Sakura's interpretation of Naruto's actions in chapter 3 also explains why she always turned his date requests down, and got annoyed with them - she probably thought that Naruto was teasing her, or being flippant with her; not that he was expressing a genuine romantic interest in her. This plays right into her shock with Sai's revelation. Sakura's own confidence issues played a large part in her reaction to Naruto's overt romantic overtures, because she did not see them as such.

Also, I think its incredibly important to note just how much Sakura's mental image of Sasuke changed from when she stopped short of stabbing Sasuke at the summit (all images of 12 year Sasuke) to her image of him in 540. It is an huge change in how she perceives him in a short period of time. I truly think that whatever lingering emotions Sakura has for Sasuke exists merely because she has barely had any interaction with him after he thanked her before leaving. Sakura was still thinking of Sasuke as the 12 year old team mate, even after their brief first reunion. It is the second reunion that drives home for Sakura how much Sasuke has changed. There is simply no credible argument to be made against the fact that whatever Kishimoto was intending the readers to take away from Sakura's thought of Sasuke in 540, it wasn't anything positive in regards to Sakura's romantic feelings for Sasuke.

Now that the English databook has been released, is there any positive comments towards NS that are evident for us? I've not got a chance to read it.

You should take a look at the "Viz Media releases databook 3" thread. I own the Databook in English and posted some passages on the thread. I'm working on getting scans up too, but I've been doing...other things XD

I agree. Whenever I drive this point home when battling SS fans, they just say that she's hurt by how much he's fallen yet still has hope he will change. While I think that's partially true, I don't think they realized how much of a blow that really was to their OTP.

Something I fing in another forum, that I can use perfectly to reply your post.

Just admit: whatever things happens, it's alright cos: it's still SasuSaku.

Even if she has no significant role in changing Sasuke: it's still SasuSaku.

SasuSaku 'reunion' was bad has hell but: it's still SasuSaku.

Sasuke never bothering to express her being anything more than a comrade he was grateful towards but: it's still SasuSaku.

Has repeatedly brought out the negative in the characters involved and has hardly been portrayed as plausible: it's still SasuSaku.

Sakura for the first time ever picture Sasuke has a bad person: is't still SasuSaku.

Some excuses are just as bad as this one, he never harmed Sakura-
He's not thinking straight! He knew Naruto would save her. Look at his face. Look goddammit, look. Does that look sane to you? Besides it was all Sakura's fault she try to kill him first. We all know that after Libro fix him it will all be a Disney movie ending.

She loves him Is all they have to defend it, but waveringly and he doesn't give a **** but is still SasuSaku.

She seems to have thought over Sasuke's explanation for Naruto's behavior- loneliness by chapter 5, so she realized that Naruto's behavior wasn't out of a conscious tormenting of her. I think it shifted her mental picture to- oh, he wants to be friends with me, but doesn't know how to be friends with a girl. That shift in her mental image of Naruto made the constant "Sakura chan" thing stop bothering her and become acceptable. The date requests and groaningly bad attempts at overtures annoyed her though- she still thought herself too ugly for any boy to be interested in her romantically. So it hit her irritation level that she believed he just was confusing wanting to be friends with a girl to wanting to be romantic with a girl. (remember Kishimoto describes her as naive about what love really was in part 1). Rock Lee's immediate strong interest in her, after first freaking her out, looks to have opened her eyes a bit about Naruto's feelings for her- that maybe he was kind of attracted to her for real, not just confusing friendship with attraction. (it's very clear in chapter 245 she was aware he had been attracted to her. What was the shock when Sai talked to her was the depth of Naruto's romantic love for her, every bit as intense as the romantic love she felt for him) Look at the vibe Sakura gives to Naruto from the Chunnin exams onward in part 1, she pretty much trusts him completely- even when he's wrong, she's less annoyed at his attempts at overtures, and blushes and smiles about his saving her from Gaara, and tells Naruto (in spite of Sasuke's threat) about Sasuke's curse mark, then comes the POAL scene and her private reaction to it- it's at that point her semiconscious feelings for Naruto becomes fully conscious and she takes her first steps away from her one sided crush on Sasuke. By the time she goes to Tsunade Naruto is already completely equal in her feelings, by the start of part 2, Naruto already had "won" her heart. (that's really obvious when you compare even Sakura's first part 2 reactions to Naruto vs to Sasuke...)

Whoever that person is, he or she obviously caters to NaruHina and SasuSaku just like we prefer NaruSaku. I don't really see a reason for laughing at her because she thinks differently. Especially if she hasn't insulted you personally, I don't really see why you would post those replies in order to just mock or laugh at them. '^^ Since it seems that you cannot debate fully with that person, and actually need help holding your own with seeing others interpretations, than its rather silly to laugh at her arguments in which you can't rebut.


I wish we could cool down on the insults toward the other fandoms. If we all believe in NS, then there's little reason to desperately defend the pairing in this way, as well as antagonize the others. To me that just shows insecurity on our part.

I've repeatedly said to her that NH may happen and conceded to past points she's said as a possiblity(She hasn't with mine though. Go figure ). She has different interpretations of moments than us. I still believe NS has the most likely chance of happening and NH, though unlikely, has a possibilty.

Okey you know that NH is a 1 side pairing, we already discussed about it , and also SS. So i think that kisimoto wont do that, so its clear that NS is going to happen. But i an not saying that it cant but logic says it is

484 wasnt about rejection, it was about how low Sasuke was in deep kitten. In 470, she wasn't even confessing for real. It was a guise in order to try to convince Naruto over killing Sasuke. Besides that, Naruto knew it wasn't a confession so there was no point in accepting or rejecting.

They were not my words except for very first line on top!

But if u say that she wasn't even confessing doesn't it means that she does not love Naruto! It will totally mean her confession was complete fake including the part where she says she loves Naruto! I am myself not sure whether confession was half true or fully false but if we compare how she reacted in the situation containing confession to sasuke and confession to naruto, confession of Naruto totally seems like she did not have any heart of doing it and just did it so that she can help Naruto get away from his burden!

and she was prepared to bear that burden herself and failed so hard


Anyway about pairings all the proofs are open for different interpretations , if u cant defend ur pairing why u'd ship it?
ofc the author would not let pairings too obvious for reasons that we already know , other fandoms and stuff.

u should be able to think too and dont let the others make conclusions for you

I do love the pairing I ship and I also defend it whenever it is possible for me to defend it! But whenever I am not I come here to get views of u guys because noone can keep every panel and page in mind when doing a debate!

THIS! if you're a NS fan you just say she loves Sasuke but she doesn't love Naruto. That's contradicting yourself, being a NS fan means you fully support the pairing and you can be confident that the feelings are mutual. You can have the benefit of the doubt that Sakura might have some feelings for Sasuke, but you can't say she doesn't love Naruto and claim yourself to be a NS fan. Either you support the pairing or you don't if you said such thing that she doesn't loves him but loves Sasuke then might as well jump ships to the SS ship.

And again what business is it for you and others to claim who's a real NS fan and who isn't? Good for you if you have complete confidence in the pairing and you're being a "real" fan, but seriously, what exactly are you achieving by telling others who are losing a bit of faith to jump ships?

The guy just needs a huge confidence boost. We should be giving him that, not telling him to jump ships. No one benefits from it.
