Yeah Spidy is so popular that he should of been one of the first characters revealed in the game.

Actually, they did manage to sneak Spidey in the game, albeit a cameo..... Take a look at how one of the photographers from the background of the New York stage has such good jumping skillz....

Activision owns the rights to Spider-Man GAMES. Marvel owns the character. No Marvel character is off-limits for this game unless they say so.

Not to mention the New York City stage has Webhead all over it.

Yeah. Marvel owns the character and he's in, just unofficially confirmed and haven't been modeled yet.

This is the same situation I'm seeing with Sonic the Hedgehog Archie comics in terms of character ownership. Apparently, one of the ex-writers trying to reclaim his characters (the whole majority of the series is on the list) and suing the publisher because he was pissed off when Sega and Bioware were "inspired" (in his words, copied) from the comics when they were creating Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood and plus bashing the current writer, saying that he hates what he was doing to the comic. (He's going to lose anyway, since he doesn't work for Archie anymore, and he did sign a contract that the characters belongs to Sega.)
