This is a bit off-topic, but I just have to speak up here

I'm not really sure just where you were looking, but there was certainly *tons* of celebrating here points at our Avatar thread with the pairing poll XD, on Youtube, LiveJournal, and other places.

Zutara was hella popular yes, but Kataang was just as popular, and I know that we *here* certainly rejoiced when that pairing became official

When in the mist of my exploring after the series finale, I did not come to this board. As for youtube nothing really tremendous that I could find . Hmmmm probably dint look hard enough lol. On the popularity of the pairing I based my opinion on Deviantart and Fanfiction.net . There was no explosion like something I would have expected from the Zutara community, but we did have the reputations of being extreme fangirls and a bit obnoxious when excited

Please ... for the sake of particular lower appendages, don't go to NF ! There will be nothing but harsh words about how you have been shut down and harpooned......do it or in this case don't for the human race.

Wow...did not know there's actually a site that analyzed all of this... It makes me depressed to read so many other examples of bascially the author being a dictator/douchebag. Maybe I'm just too logical a person for manga plot twists. There's certainly a chance that Kishi is following this formula, in which case I really will quit Naruto forever (prob a lie...I shipped H/Hr for HP but still ended up reading the 7th book, albeit a library copy)

But, I still believe.

And about the (wonderful) site that anlysed it, you do understand this article was about pairings that are NOT canon, not pairings that came out of the blue.

It's hard for me to compre Naruhina to HarryxGinny because, unlike Harry, Kishi has thrown about quite a few hints that Naruto's reltionship with Sakura could be more, unlike harry whos writer didn't really give him someone to bud up some romance.

lol we have lots of H/Hr shippers here I'm glad.
the large NF poll on Hinata's death is currently at 40% - 60% yes - no. That is surprisingly high...considering 1) NF is overran with Hinatards and 2) similar polls on kakashi's death polled only a 25% - 75% (much higher for shizune, sadly). This doesn't make Hinata's death any more or less likely...but ppl acknoweldging her death is something big.

It saddens me, but whatta ya gonna do? Panic at the drop of a hat. I don't even want to know what NF is saying right now though, because I honestly have a terribly low opinion of that place to begin with.

If Hinata survives I could honestly see something akin to the Hospital Scene in part one, except it is Hinata who is injured and Naruto who comes to visit. Naruto will try and speak but Hinata will cut him off with a sad smile and say "I know..." and accept that he dosn't have feelings for her.

I don't think were going to get a response from Kishimoto until well down the line, there's so much story left to resolve before he takes care of the pairings.

That or Kishimoto needed a continent plot device to get Naruto in Kyuubi form.

I suppose I should put in my 2 cents. Honestly I think Hinata is dead as a doornail. The sound ex Text. The confession from Pein afterward of how it reminded him of how his parents were killed right in front of his eyes by Konoha Ninja. Plus the fact, people have been dropping like flies in Part 2. Part 2, especially this chapter particularly, reminded me of when the writers of the New Jedi Order were writing their books. Basically they were killing off, two major long standing characters to for a more dramatization of how life can be easily snuffed out in the times of war. Also, it puts the reader on edge, making them think that if particular long standing characters are being killed, its possible for anyone to go.

I think Kishi is doing this as well. We've been comfortable too long with how peaceful Konoha has been. They're been threats, people get injured, but everything works itself right and eventually everyone comes home. Kishi, is telling us, that's not happening anymore. The comfort zone, we've all built up, he decided to bring that crumbling down.

I mean Asuma was the first. But that lost wasn't so bad. He was a character a lot of people loved, but his lost wouldn't touch us all so much. Jiraiya, that was the first one that really got our attention. Then Shizune, death comes from left field. And now Hinata.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I hate to say it but we are in unknown territory now. Kansas has gone bye-bye...

Y'know what I've had enough of this guessing game already. Hinata is dead, do you honestly think Pein would've missed a vital spot in such close proximity and with nothing to interrupt him? He probably stabbed her through the heart so at least she didn't suffer. So unless someone in Konoha knows Tensei Jutsu (which is not bloody likely) Hinata is dead as a doornail.

I agree with Ed. I honestly think she's gone and everybody's gotten worked up for nothing. I only hope this leads to more interesting things from the manga.

I just realize something. Naruto is able to detect people's chakra with the natural energy he gathers for sage mode. Eventually Naruto will confirm if Hinata is dead or not. Then we will know the pairing fate. This is feels like torture. This was a depressing chapter.

Chances are that probably will not happen because currently Naruto is a 6-tailed mini-kyuubi about to go on a rampage and as seen from what happened when he went 4 four tails... he passed out immediately after. Someone else will have to verify her death or magical reincarnation. *shrugs* we'll just have to wait and see.
