However I would also argue that there's no use going for someone who won't consider you no matter what. By post 693 Sakura had already confessed again to Sasuke in front of Naruto. If she's still set on Sasuke, which was the case, then Naruto confessing wouldnt change a thing. In this case Kishi made Sakura so stuck to Sasuke that by the end of the series Naruto was not an option for her. So it's hard to place the blame on Naruto when it's Sakura that went for the other man in the end (literally, since her last on panel moment is asking Sasuke if she could go with him).

Since everybody has been complaining about Naruto's new development recently, I wonder what all of you have to say about Naruto's character as a friend to both Sakura and Sasuke.
From what we've seen through the manga, Naruto has been there in cases where Sasuke would leave Sakura off to die. So by the time Sakura and Sasuke actually got together, do you guys believe that Naruto was happy with this idea? Or was he bothered by it?
Personally, if one of my friends were beginning a new relationship with someone who's treated them wrongly in the past I would stop them immediately. People can change, but that doesn't mean they can't face consequences.
Simple...he may have liked Sakura...but he was clearly infatuated with Sasuke, so when Sasuke wanted Sakura, Naruto didn't bother getting in the way, since he is Sasuke and clearly deserves everything.
Listen...Naruto is simply a weakling that didn't grew a pair.

What a great explanation. Naruto only saved her once from him, and just watched while he freaking genjutsu'ed her. So yea.

If this is shoujo, naruto and sasuke will romantically love each other.^YEah, apparently Naruto valued Sasuke's bromance over Sakura.
If this is josei, we will see their sex scene.

I know people want to say 'He gave up on her!' and get angry at him but really when she's confessed multiple times to another man, in his presence, even after everything he's done for her it's time to move on. Otherwise he'd look like an obssessed stalker and would be showing he's not mature enough to accept the decisions of other people. The Sakura/Sasuke relationship could've wored in theory if the Author had done more to flesh it out. However, from what I gather, he wasn't sure if Sasuke would end up as Naruto's friend or enemy until near the manga's end and thus the various romantic possibilities suffered from a sever bout of fence sitting since he couldn't lay the ground work for the final relationships until he knew whether or not Sasuke would turn out to be a hero or a villain.

I have to agree with this. NS just wasn't possible as long as Sakura was still in love with Sasuke. I think the series could have gradually moved from NS to NH if the reason was that Naruto got over his love of Sakura and started to appreciate Hinata more. Rather than the whole, "Love due to rivalry" BS

And I wouldn't have minded that I would have still shipped NS, but I was going to give the NH pairing a chance if it happened gradually and had proper development instead of loving her after a genjustu BS they gave us and the no resolution to NS. A movie is not enough time for it to seem logical.I have to agree with this. NS just wasn't possible as long as Sakura was still in love with Sasuke. Even with that, NS is the most logical outcome.
What kill NS in this manga is not sakura love to sasuke, but when sasuke love sakura back thus making ss mutual and that's when NS died. And sasuke love back sakura in the last chapter of the manga even before naruto make his confession.

That would be impossible, whole characteristics of main characters must've been re-worked, so other than that, Kishimoto just throwed NS and logis out of the window for whatever reason, so now quality of the story and plot is close to 0 as much as it possible to be close to zero without being it.

Did you get that from the interview?Sasuke loves Sakura??? Where in the manga does it shows that??? For all we know he probably cheated on her with Karin and thus Sarada's born.

Well yeah, it obviously wouldn't have worked late in the manga before the end. But it could have happened early in part 2 if it was established that Sakura still had strong feelings for Sasuke

Sakura has strong feeling is useless as long as sasuke never return it.Well yeah, it obviously wouldn't have worked late in the manga before the end. But it could have happened early in part 2 if it was established that Sakura still had strong feelings for Sasuke
That's why NS has much more possibility to happen even when sakura still love sasuke.

And that is perfectly reflected in the way NH was done, and it doesn't help that Kishi put in that little blurb of Hinata promising that she would stop chasing Naruto after the war was over.

And that is the problem I and many others have with the ending; not the pairings in general, but the way they had no real mutual development with one another (always was one-sided from the girls' side) that would make them being together look believable or satisfying. Even now, I personally wouldn't want NS to happen if Kishi just planned to just throw them together after some half-baked drama and no development as it would be no different than how he just threw NH and SS together at the end of the first manga. At this point, to any logical person who looks at pairings, no pairing would truly be satisfying anymore unless the whole thing was just restarted and rebuilt from the ground up simply because of all the baggage they now carry.
