The thing is, that Sasuke still being there will more likely destroy any chances of the 2011 OVA becoming canonized in the manga.
Well, what if next chapter opens up with Sakura arriving, only to find Naruto there with his eyes closed and Sasuke gone?

No, I was very sad. I didn't cry though, but it showed that Naruto finally managed to bring back old Sasuke, and... that the manga now really ends *sigh*

If there were one chapter next week I would tend to agree on an open ending, but with two chapters it'll be finished one way or another.

Plenty of people have lost arms before. Kaiza (Inari's stepfather; he lost both of his), Deidara, Orochimaru, Jiraiya, A... Those aren't the most severe injuries seen in the manga. Dosu had two long vertical gouge marks separating half of his body from the other part when Gaara killed him.

Sakura will be horrified to see them both so wounded. But her main focus will be on Naruto I have always doubted open ending especially when Kishimoto confirmed he will end the manga conclusively, open ending=un conclusively.
