Yeah, Naruto has had more people inside him watching his every move: Minato, Kushina, Kurama, and now the Sot6P. Underdog, I think not.

It begs the question, is Sakura a 'chosen one' as well? Is she a reincarnation and that's why Naruto is so immoveably attracted to her?

And is Sasuke reincarnated or just a parallel?

(And seriously, Kishimoto's plot devices are more like a Hall of Mirrors. At some point, all the parallels loose their thrill and you just want to find the way out.)

Anyway, while using reincarnation is an easy character twist, it always leaves me wondering about the rules: Does it apply to everyone else, or just the hero? Are they doomed to fight someone elses's battles endlessly through time?

Interesting about the mom, the rabbit goddess. Hopefully that will go somewhere. Kishimoto has a bad habit of writing powerful women, but fails to give them active roles in the story. Would really like to see more about her.

Anyway, any chapter focused on Naruto is a good chapter. Wouldn't say it's the best, but definitely interesting and a nice change of pace from war stuff or secondary character flashbacks.

Oh, and I know it's for comedic effect, but everytime Naruto comes out acting stupid, I just think, "This is the guy who's supposed to unite the ninja world? He's supposed to be kage?" It just seems like he needs another timeskip or something. (And then other times he seems totally mature. *shrugs*)

For the record, that's the point of his stupidity. I don't understand what are you thinking. What? Everyone is The Last of Us serious? This is a Japanese Shounen manga. I'm going to go clean and say this:

You know what? Forget it. You have your fun. I still have my other things to do. Opinions are opinions. I get it. You won't hear it from me.

Buddhism religion...oh, this reincarnation...I can't believe some people believe in this. lol.

Dude, way out of line. You're being a complete idiotic a**hole.

I'm not particularly religious, but even I know that comments like those are extremely disrespectful.

This, so much. I know quite a few people here like the parallels, but they've lost their appeal for me.

From his words alone, Hagoromo strikes me as someone who would be more eligible of handling the task of achieving world piece. I think he knows what he's doing. Naruto doesn't really have a method for this. It has to be more complex than just sentimentalities. Although maybe what Kishi is suggesting is that Hagoromo's "ninshuu" is just one part of a grander scheme, a catalyst for realising all of the aspects that would logically go into creating peace (stable governments, end of world hunger, efficient economic conditions, no corruption, reasonable foreign relations, ect).

Everything Hagoromo has explained correlates to Kaguya being antagonistic to the principals that Naruto follows. She may not have been the progenitor of the chaos but she definitely fueled it through her actions. Is there any meaning to that? And I thought it was odd how her strength was hand waved with a few choice words. "Stronger than anyone else." Could "anyone else" be referring to only the people that existed during her time? Has the knowledge and training of the general populace risen to a point where the modern chakra user could beat her? Or is her power all inclusive of anyone from any time period? It's a minor detail but one that stuck out because of how vaguely it was worded.

It's odd how this sibling of the Sage has never been recounted in any stories or myths. A possible explanation is that he chose to live in anonymity after defeating the Jubi. In the process, he bequeathed the mess that humanity and their mother created to Hagoromo for him to handle. There might have been an argument over who would house the Jubi and a rift would have emerged between the two because of it.

Wasn't it originally mentioned that Hagoromo's Spiritual and Physical energies were distributed to his two sons each? Both of them were allegedly proficient in things that were conducive to using their respective inheritances. Ashura received his father's physical energy and like force, whereas Indra had powerful chakra and spiritual energy. This chapter suggests that they received the same abilities from Hagoromo though. And if you compare Indra's eyes from his portrayal #462 with #670, the doujutsu is different.

I don't think Sakura has any biological relationship with the Sage. Hasn't Kishi described her as being from a run-of-the-mill family?

Unlike the Senju and Uchiha whose origins can be traced back to the Sage's children, the Uzumaki's origins has been shrouded in mystery. This brother of Hagoromo has to be that primogenitor. It's the only way to explain the Uzumaki's relation to the Sage without ascribing it to the Senju line simply branching off somewhere down the line.

Judging by the wording of Hagoromo's statement about Ashura banding everyone together, their relevance may have extended only to the brothers' respective methods for achieving peace. He was purported to have gained the same power as his brother and if the conditions of the battles they waged have any similarity with Naruto and Sasuke's then they were probably the only two participants.

Edit: There's Kurama aiding Naruto, if that counts.

That's what I think too. I'm just throwing it out that there's no way Sakura would be the descendant of the Sage's brother without any proper foreshadowing. If that happens, then I can perfectly say with clarity that Kishi doesn't know how to write a story. The sage's brother being the Uzumakis' ancestor is more likely.

@sinedd - please don't post personal opinions on religious tenets. This is a tolerant, multi-cultural forum. You may not believe in something, but the next poster down just might. It's important for everyone to keep this in mind as the manga moves into some religious/mythic themes since there will certainly be more discussion about it.

@Tricksie - Sakura being a re-incarnation of who?

Eh, no idea. But any time reincarnation is introduced, it begs the question, "Who else?" Is it just the main character, or does it apply to the central people in the main character's life as well? Does Naruto's attraction stem from this life, or is it fated from some previous life. Same with his struggles with Sasuke. I'll be curious to see how it plays out now that reincarnation has been concretely introduced.

I would kind of expect Naruto to rail against it, too. First he's the vessel of a demon, now he dicovers he's not even his own person but a redux of a former 'no good ' son? That's gonna go over with Naruto like a ton of bricks!! :)

I really hope Hagoromo's brother is brought up again. The fact that the Sage had a brother who share the same power it's way to big to be pushed to the side.

And what makes it necessary to know his fate is that he also sealed part of the Juubi inside of him. At least that's what Hagoromo implied.

Even if it's some simple explanation like the Sage brother giving Hagoromo his part of the Juubi before dying, it needs to be addressed.

I have a feelings it's this way: When the Rikudou and his brother fought the Juubi, they separated the Juubi's chakra from its body and the Rikudou sealed the chakra in his body while the brother sealed the body aka the Gedo Mazo in his body. Later on the Rikudou created the tailed beasts from the chakra that was in him. And the brother sealed the Gedo Mazo in the moon before he died.

I agree. That needs to be addressed. I mean why the history shrine didn't have that info. It seems so strange to even discount that.

Since the preview said Naruto will get a hefty powerup next chapter, dosen't it mean that Naruto will wake up next chapter? And since Yin Kurama is within Naruto now, won't he get to see SO6P?

As nice as that sounds Dark Kurama already explained a while back that Hagoromo also had the Gedo Mazo inside of him.

It's because of Gedo Mazo's life force that Hagoromo was able to survive extracting the Juubi chakra from his body and dividing it into the nine tailed beasts.

I'm gonna guess that Hagoromo's brother at some point gave him his part of the Juubi. The alternative would mean that all this time they've been dealing with only half of the Juubi and that the other part is somewhere we still don't know. That would be crazy.

Well the preview can point towards to the later event, rather than the very next. That said if what I said is true, the preview we got that was from 666. It took 4 chapters later. If similar, we may see it in chapter 674. Again, I'm only guessing.

Yeah now that you mention it I remember. So either the brother gave his power to the Rikudou like you said or there's another Juubi out there. But if there is another Juubi, where is it? :headscratch:

You know, if Naruto do get a power up, not sure what that means as in power from RS or Yin Kuruma occurs, and if it's permanent, someone is going to need a cheat code. *cough*

Next chapter is the volume's last chapter right? So it means Naruto has to wake up physically and I assume that's where Kishi will end the manga and the next volume will commence with a sweet Sakura reaction.
