I thought it was an alright chapter, better than the previous one at least. Flashbacks were expected, considering Gai is about to lay his life on the line, though I'm not particularly fond of Gai's father being pretty much a carbon copy of himself because it just makes it feel like Kishi didn't want to put in the effort of creating a more original character. But I suppose it doesn't really matter, since the flashbacks were really about Gai and how he came to develop his will and life motto.
So Gai is basically gonna pull a Chaotzu or Majin Vegeta (anyone else like how Chaotzu died in vain and is called useless, while Vegeta did the exact same thing and is called a hero?)
Also I wonder if Sakura's still going to be elbow deep in Naruto's ribcage when he wakes up (Kishi might use it for a humurous moment like he did with the poisoned kunai) or I guess she could patch him up when she sees that he's waking up (though the huge hole on his side might take a while to heal)
Honestly, I think it just comes down to the fact that Vegeta was a popular character and Chaotzu (so far as I know) was not, thus one is a hero for sacrificing his life and the other is 'useless'. Though I guess their are other reasons as well, one being that Vegeta was generally self-serving and it was the "first time he fought for someone other than himself", so his actions look more selfless by comparison.
Sakura will probably close up the wound once Naruto's heart is heating on its own again, and she might still be healing him when he wakes up.
