I was talking about when you were saying that she should fight along with Naruto against Madara.

 

But yeah, a reaction from her when Naruto will get up is inevitable.

 

I know but I'm afraid this reaction might be smaller than the one we're all wishing for...

Chapter 666: Average chapter, a bit disappointing because I expected more from this chapter, especially that this is chapter 666 (sign of the devil ftw), THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST! lol!

It's been many years since Obito and Kakashi were teammates. It's good to see them back, together as two-man team. 

Guy arrives at the Battlefield, yeai! He'll do an amazing jutsu, that's for sure.

Does Madara suffer from Amnesia, same thing as Kisame? Didn't he knew he fought Guy before...when he was Edo Tensei, what the hell is wrong with him?

Not even now the mysterious person next to Sasuke is revealed, jeez!

I liked this chapter.

 

And am wondering about a possible NS moment but I just know that Naruto will ruin it like he did so many before.

 I m afraid of that, the comedy/romance in a  manga or anime  almost always the comedy over come the romance in Shonen.

Why's everyone complaining about the flashbacks. I skipped it at first then read it later to find out:

 

This flashback was one of the best....

 

It had some depth to it. I skipped it at first but loved it later.

 

If you pay attention, kishi concluded the reason for obito's lateness. He always chose "literal complicated paths" and ends up lost. When he could have simply chosen a straight course.

 

Ironically, this literal behavior reflected in his philosophical life and he chose a complicated path because of Rin.

 

Now, for the first time, he chose a straight path and guess what? He wasn't late. He arrived in time to save naruto. Then he confessed to Sakura (who is a type of Rin) that he's decided to walk straight.

 

That to me is soooo beautiful but obviously it passed over many heads.

The chapter was very good and full of suspense. Is it just my feeling, or the manga is indeed moving in a quick pace mode in the past 4 months? (as compared to the first half of 2013)... I might decide to buy the volume again, the last volume that I bought was vol. 63 I think...

 

I can't help but think that Sakura might get hurt in the next few chapters, hopefully not, but her thoughts regarding Madara seems a bit off and unusual. She never had those thoughts before when she encountered all her previous enemies, if I'm not mistaken.

 

There's so much possibilities based on the setup that Kishi put in the past few chapters. Using the NS pairing goggle, one can easily see the setup he put on 662 brought us to a solid NS moment in chapter 663. Heck, even the setup on 630 has brought us a nice but impactful girlfriend comment in 631. I'll keep my expectation low as usual... ;)

 

I personally don't want Naruto to have conversation with someone in limbo. He had conversation in such environment with his father and mother. It should be kept special and exclusive to them, because that really brings his maturity ten folds. Every time I re-read the chapters when he first met his father and subsequently his mother, the outcome of the meeting always gives me a Goosebumps -- one of the most powerful scenes in the manga. Having another conversation in limbo will add nothing to his maturity, only drag the drama. Neji also doesn't seem to fit into that picture, since he dies with no regret and nothing is pending to be concluded between Naruto/Neji. Jiraiya may be a candidate, though seems to be a bit forced -- and it'll belittle Shikamaru's and Iruka's effort to cheer Naruto back then... but again, who am I to challenge Kishi's art work... :)

 

Overall, nice suspenseful chapter. Thanks Kishi sensei for the good work.

I know it, i pointed you the fact that parallels face the same problem or situations the only situation Rin and Sakura share in common is the Team 7 setup, if her parallel with Rin was valid she would have taken a more protagonist role during when Obito's team come into play.
Rin's had different obstacles to face than Sakura, Sakura obstacle is more in terms of romance relationship, Rin was all about the shinobi world.
Her problems were all during the war and to act as the middle person to make Obito and Kakashi stop fighting each other and unite them as a team .
Rin played the role of the girl who united Obito and Kakashi, she was always watching over them, and most important she was the one who greatly supported Obito when he was faltering about his dream of being kage.
 

A "parallel" does not mean "every single thing about character A and character B are the same." Sakura doesn't share Tsunade's alcoholic or gambling tendencies, but they parallel each other. In fact, none of the characters who parallel Sakura have the same obstacles as her.

Rin and Sakura have a lot in common, and this scene was almost exactly like Sakura from the Chuunin exams. Therefore this situation is called a parallel.

Their similarities don't just end there - they also have similar last names (see the kanji for Haruno/ Nohara), similar techniques (both rare medical ninjas), similar appearances, similar love triangle, etc.

Rin can't have "more of a leading role" because she is dead. Her role isn't any smaller than Kushina's.

Well we did get a glimpse of the fox demon. so I guess I was right about 666. we now know where Kakashi got the "showing up late" thing from. and we had some subtle NS hints. nice chapter I say. now to wait 7 days.

I disagree, Kishimoto has never aknowledged the parallel between Rin and Sakura, it's only fans speculations, the only parallel aknowledged by the author is Naruto and Obito. 

Actually we've had several parallels in this story.

Naruto has been paralleled to Minato, Kushina, and Obito.
Sakura has been paralleled to Kushina and Tsunade.
Sasuke has been paralleled to Madara and Madara's Brother.

We could also say that, while not really lampshaded, Kishimoto has made effort to showcase how Madara and Hashirama are Sasuke and Naruto respectfully.

I was just correcting the statement saying that Kishimoto had aknowledged the Sakura/Rin parallel, because it's wrong to say that. There is an implied parallel, but it was never stated outloud like it was for the Naruto/Obito one.

Chap. 666 was a good chapter but I felt that the flash backs wasn't necessary. I'm just wondering how madara has seen gai before. But that is just me.

Ok so what did Minato do in this Chapter with holding the FTG kunai with his teeth i'm confused by this scene what was his role exactly in here ? Also i don't know why did Kishi made that flashback of him saying that he will protect or save his son no matter what when two chapters later he gives that role to Obito WTH was he thinking ?

 

The chapter was great but i don't see any subtle hints for NS except for a possible SakuRin or OR NS parallel , also the lack of Sakura's focus toward Naruto's situation in this last two chapters doesn't give me any NS vibes or hope for the best when Naruto wakes up , she doesn't seem worried like she was before in 662/3 even when the Kyuubi was taken from Minato , Kishi made her focus more on what was going more on the battlefield and made her fear for her life  i hope i'm wrong about all of this and we do get the long awaited NS moment but until then i will keep my expectations low .

 

I predict that Obito , Kakashi and Gai will all die in the upcoming chapters

I tend to think of Kishimoto's parallels like a house of mirrors. Sure there are parallels, but the don't really go anywhere, and sometimes they are just meant to confuse. It's a bit of a Fun-House effect. They're fun at first, but after a while I just start to ignore them. They may or may not turn out to be a true reflection of the story, and there's no way of knowing which is true until the end.

Why Sakura should fight Madara? unless she want to die. Madara is on other league than everyone. he soled Hashirama, Tobirama, Minato, Sasuke, etc.. by alone. Besides Sakura has only a modest amount of chakra now. The most important thing is that she is together with Naruto, even she's doing only little things. But as Yamato teached her (and us), no matter how much are little the things you're doing, the most important thing is the feelings behind those little things.

yeah..im fully aware about it..even sakura realizes it and she needs to think twice , or maybe more about the consequences if she wants to fight Madara the god. I dont think sakura will die if madara soloed her...maybe heavily injured..but die is a no..because of he kills naruto and sasuke off..that doesn't mean she will die too. Besides, she a medic plus smart person. This could be the chance to take revenge for hurting tsunade, her sensei. About the chakra,whats the point of her having the seal to store her chakra that being gathered for almost three year if not using it when the situation gets extremely tough.

I liked this chapter a lot! Very funny too. I wonder what Sakura meant by saying Madara is different? o_o I liked that she admitted she was scared, but she didn't let it get to her. She is very brave. :3

 

Also I wonder how Team Gai got there in no time..hopefully Lee and Tenten are there too.

Yes, I think so too. I got quite disappointed when I turned the page and noticed the flashbacks. x( But I hope they're not just there to slow down the phasing or give us feels. If it's build-up to something bigger, I'll be fine with it. It doesn't need to be parallels, but what else? We're past Obito's redemption now, kind of. It's taking a while too, we've had Rin flashbacks for a pretty long time now..

I wouldn't give it too much thought. Technically, because he used the rinnegan's resurrection technique Obito shouldn't even be alive right now. At this point Kishi is ignoring his plot devices for the sake of the story.

Okay....I never said anything about Rin/Sakura parallel, but you are wrong when you said "the only parallel acknowledged by the author is Naruto and Obito."

If you count all the parallels that were literally lampshaded by the cast themselves, I consider that all acknowledged by the author.
