Indeeed, i cannot just stand with them. Meh, nothing surprising for me here...

Before: Rin loves Kakashi! She isn't more than a friend for Obito!!

Now: Oh MY GOD! She hold his hand! And she's watching over him!!! NH-ObiRin parallel CANOOOON1111!!!!!1

That's just ridicolous. Another confirm that they always mislead they own pov about how reading this manga. Meh, never mind.... Leave them alone.

PS: Naruto is giving his hand to Obito, I guess that this's a parallel with NH too :twitch:  Parallels everywhere.

lols. Its hilarious.

There is a 19th page LOL

I didn't saw it at first I thought the 18th page was the last !

I was sure Naruto would say something like that in the future...

Soooooo if Naruto is talking about Rin directly, I think he will not talk about Sakura.

Or maybe next chapter ^^ but I don't think so.

it was a great chapter since we get to see more of the relationship of Obito and Rin.
as for the TnJ, i know it can't be helped since Naruto has to deliver his long lines of leading him to redemption, but what the heck. the guy killed so many people and he was practically living in so much hate and this is all it takes to lead him back to the light.? and then everyone else will forgive him?.. i hope it wont be like that, not too easy like that, since so many has suffered., i wish we'll get to see a much more realistic scenarios here as this is the last war.. honestly, whether Obito lives or not after this war, i do want him to find the peace he's looking for..

oh and Sakura wasn't in this chapter (right?), BUT all i could see in those big panels of Rin is Sakura., they're just the same.. i dont know how Rin can resemble Hinata in any way but,...to each his own, i guess. cheers!

The chapter seemed like a recap of last week, but the flashback was really what got me this week because it was almost like Obito and Rin's version of a Promise Lifetime similar to what Naruto and Sakura's Promise of a Lifetime was. I do definalty see the NaruSaku ObiRin coming up next chapter, I I didn't say this entirely in the review, but I was surprised of similar Rin was to Sakura.

"Don't make a girl a promise...if you know you can't keep it."

That's the vibe I got from this chapter. One of the strongest commitment, at least to me, is making a promise to a girl, especially love interest, and because of Rin's death, Obito lost his way. I admit, I really like the conversation between Obito and Rin, especially the whole promise since Obito was really committed on becoming Hokage. I guess I can see why the world ended with Rin's death in his eyes. You know, when Naruto failed the promise, looking back, you can tell Naruto almost felt like a true defeated man and no, it's not the fact he lost to Sasuke, but he failed to keep that promise. So it would seem that a promise in Naruto's universe is extremely important to the point if you do fail, you would see yourself a weak, unworthy man.

So, this chapter does in fact made Obito look really bad because of all the actions he has done can really make Rin to be blamed for his transformation, but that should never be the case. I understand he got some train of thoughts from Madara, but he should have stick to his dreams, but like Kakashi said, he was weaker than Naruto. Naruto could hear all the bad news that will make him upset, yet he will still push forward. I guess that's why the last arc happened the way it did, because it was many things throwing him but at last, he came back, full force. Obito has done so much damage that now, no one can't see him as a Hokage. But that doesn't mean he will have to die as a monster. Which brings me to the last question: what is his decision?

Obito tried to deny and believe his tactic is the only way to make everything right and yes, it is a shortcut idea, but again, Obito was going to a long route, which slow and steady wins the race, so Naruto stays to that road. Obito went to the shortcut (sounds like a bash to many shortcuts, hint hint...). Also, it's one of those moment of "but at what cost," and Obito sure noticed it now. So now here we are, next chapter is TnJ part 2. The question is will Obito give in or not? This one is all up for grabs and I rather not predict for this one. Many options can go from here. Obito could say no because again, it's all too late. Obito could say yes because he should be Obito Uchiha, his old self once more. I don't know. Maybe he will answer immediately. Maybe he needs one more understanding. The cliffhanger happened differently than Sasuke's answer because the last one ended with Hashirama concluding his story, which in the next chapter brought up the conclusion Sasuke gathered. So for this one, it's different because it literally ends on "Yes or no? Choose." Once again, there could be more talking or there could be an immediate answer. I'm not saying anything from my thoughts.

Lastly, I wanted to say I can't believe I thought there was an early spoiler to the point I left the forum for the whole day. Lol. Nervousness sure got me hard. LOL. Ahem, so what is my status? Well almost done. It's been established that this pairing is more similar than I thought. As far as parallel goes, it's still up in the air and it can come at anytime. Maybe even in the next chapter. It all really depends on how Obito takes all this and see if he will answer it immediately or there's one more thing. The answer awaits.

On naruto this happens rarely but it's normal. It's something that you can also often on OP and Bleach chapters. Some editor puts the classic final logo on the penultimate page of a chapter sometime.

This makes me think we won't have a NS-OR parallel, at least not now.

I just don't think the conversation is going down that road. As for the 615 flashback, it actually makes me think Neji functions as Naruto's Rin. Naruto almost gave up on the world just like Obito, triggers were Rin and Neji. I didn't really think of NH(until NHers pointed it out lol), because Naruto and Hinata are just..there, and it's before their "big moment". The flashback is set before Hinata did her thing so I think it's about Neji instead of her. Obito is the one imagining which makes me think he wants to ask Naruto the same question again.

Neji is in this aspect Naruto's Rin, so we don't need to make another one for the same purpose you know? (I'm talking about stabbing Sakura now). Sakura is Naruto's Rin in other ways, it's not confirmed, but Obito and Rin's interactions reminds me of theirs. How she wants to watch over him and be with him, and I'm not saying it to prove romance or that that alone makes it a parallel. I can understand why NH got reminded of Hinata saying she wants to be with Naruto, but depending on the translation Sakura has said the exact same thing. And you can't connect it with romance either, or use it as arguments your ship. Unless you think Rin secretly loved Obito(have only seen NS saying that), she probably meant it as a comrade.

Naruto is thinking about Neji..

Page-18, last panel.

He wasnt thinking about NEji but mostly the fact that he killed Neji and used that as a form to make him give up, and the part he said "compensate for the bad things you did"

He will probably ressurrect Neji i'm mostly disappointed because on page 4 he literally put Rin's death equally to a death of Naruto's friend by saying "the people important to us died".

This chapter for me is a 4/10 almost terrible, it has nothing to do with Obi/Rin and Naru/Saku while it was done around the promise thing, with zero romantic undertones but mostly i cant swallow Neji's death being equal to a love interest death on which you hold a promise and vowed to protect her life.

@sushi

Yep that's what i said earlier when i said that NS/OR would make it canon and i was right Kishi tried to be the most neutral possible and for that was terrible and i knew he would do it putting Neji on the same level as Obito's Rin is extremely difficult to swallow.

If it was Jiraiya would make sense due ot the fact he said that he was like a father to him but Neji that was ridiculous.

It's nice how Kishi puts focus on Nejis death here but I still think something may happen with Sakura considering she IS one of the most precious people in his life. Neji wasn't. He was pretty much on the same level as the other rookies. As for the actual flashbacks, it's pretty obvious what those moments were modeled after. It's the exact same thing with MinaKushi. His dream of being hokage. How Naruto relies on Sakura and her medical skill. The scene in the hospital comes to mind afree he uses the rasenshuriken. How Sakura always watches him, and wants/does assist him in anyway she can. Hinata doesn't and hasn't. She only sees his nindo and she does assist him but it's incomparable to ObiRin

I feel the same, but I was over this in 615. Naruto got a similar reaction to Neji's death as Obito got to Rin's death. It was bad, but I don't want to judge it twice, it has already been written so I'll base my rating on the new things in this chapter.

Kishi will send a really bad message if he resurrects Neji, it would make Hinata's speech look in vain. The point is that Naruto can move forward even with his comrades dying on his way, but if "Neji was going to be resurrected anyway" it would be a step back.

Mangastream has narusaku fanart on their chapter.... Interesting.

That was sweet, but I think they just post whatever people send in.

I do agree with you, but then Neji shouldn't have died in the first place. Now that he is dead he might as well be Naruto's Rin. -_-

You know, in a way, it's more parallel to think that Rin and Obito were together on the promise, yet Rin didn't get the idea that Obito loves her until Kakashi pointed out. I would go down and say that Rin and Obito could in fact be together if Rin lived and Obito reached to his dream. I can see both of them overwhelming happy that the promise is done, then they will get together. Sadly, Obito was still young and still away to reach to the top, so the buildup wasn't going any higher. Not saying Obito got friendzoned, because he didn't, but it feels like if he climbed to the top, it would be the best time to confess.

Now I get it. When Minato told him about reaching to Hokage and Obito responded about ladies, it does seem like it would have been the best time to confess Rin, but around that time, he can only witness Rin being impressed with Kakashi like a fangirl. Ok, not like over the top that we have today, but you get what I mean. It's like when a guy say, "You know what it's like getting up every morning feeling hopeless, knowing that your love is with a wrong man, but still hope she is happy, even it's not with you?" It's crazy, but that's true love. Wow, the parallel. Sorry, lost track there. Anyway, when you think about it, the promise is a serious business. Now, I'm just waiting for a week and a day.

I belive he will due to the extreme hint of Naruto telling him to redeem his actions by doing something good and he only has one thing to do "Edo Rinne Tensei" which was hinted since he got the rinnegan, since died i thought he would be ressurrected.(To be with Hinata! AHHAHAHAH) NejiHina fans will rejoice.

Going back to be serious, i didnt like the comparison it send a message that Kishi chose to be neutral on the exchange to give quality to the redeemption.(He literally give up when he already fullfilled his plan(Juubi's jinchuuriki).

About the bad message Kishi sends though ressurrecting Neji the bad message was already done, i think Neji's ressurrection is less damaging than Obitobeing TnJ by Naruto who literally lose less important things than Obito, i mean his best friend could not keep his promise to him and killed the most precious people he had which he hold a promise and vowed to protect her, cant be compared to a friend who chose to die to save him, which he barely had an interaction.

Lol well, in that sense, he is. I'd rather Neji be his Rin than Hinata. Lmao

When I read Naruto's line comparing their lives, I knew it Kishi was gonna flat out push the parallel or make it super obvious to everyone. It's quite funny actually.
