"Don't make a girl a promise...if you know you can't keep it."
That's the vibe I got from this chapter. One of the strongest commitment, at least to me, is making a promise to a girl, especially love interest, and because of Rin's death, Obito lost his way. I admit, I really like the conversation between Obito and Rin, especially the whole promise since Obito was really committed on becoming Hokage. I guess I can see why the world ended with Rin's death in his eyes. You know, when Naruto failed the promise, looking back, you can tell Naruto almost felt like a true defeated man and no, it's not the fact he lost to Sasuke, but he failed to keep that promise. So it would seem that a promise in Naruto's universe is extremely important to the point if you do fail, you would see yourself a weak, unworthy man.
So, this chapter does in fact made Obito look really bad because of all the actions he has done can really make Rin to be blamed for his transformation, but that should never be the case. I understand he got some train of thoughts from Madara, but he should have stick to his dreams, but like Kakashi said, he was weaker than Naruto. Naruto could hear all the bad news that will make him upset, yet he will still push forward. I guess that's why the last arc happened the way it did, because it was many things throwing him but at last, he came back, full force. Obito has done so much damage that now, no one can't see him as a Hokage. But that doesn't mean he will have to die as a monster. Which brings me to the last question: what is his decision?
Obito tried to deny and believe his tactic is the only way to make everything right and yes, it is a shortcut idea, but again, Obito was going to a long route, which slow and steady wins the race, so Naruto stays to that road. Obito went to the shortcut (sounds like a bash to many shortcuts, hint hint...). Also, it's one of those moment of "but at what cost," and Obito sure noticed it now. So now here we are, next chapter is TnJ part 2. The question is will Obito give in or not? This one is all up for grabs and I rather not predict for this one. Many options can go from here. Obito could say no because again, it's all too late. Obito could say yes because he should be Obito Uchiha, his old self once more. I don't know. Maybe he will answer immediately. Maybe he needs one more understanding. The cliffhanger happened differently than Sasuke's answer because the last one ended with Hashirama concluding his story, which in the next chapter brought up the conclusion Sasuke gathered. So for this one, it's different because it literally ends on "Yes or no? Choose." Once again, there could be more talking or there could be an immediate answer. I'm not saying anything from my thoughts.
Lastly, I wanted to say I can't believe I thought there was an early spoiler to the point I left the forum for the whole day. Lol. Nervousness sure got me hard. LOL. Ahem, so what is my status? Well almost done. It's been established that this pairing is more similar than I thought. As far as parallel goes, it's still up in the air and it can come at anytime. Maybe even in the next chapter. It all really depends on how Obito takes all this and see if he will answer it immediately or there's one more thing. The answer awaits.
