Yeah, this isnt what naruto, sasuke or madara wants for the matter. Sasuke cares about the village, even though he's planning on killing naruto. Although I dont think sasuke is doing any wrong choices as of now, he just wanted to burn down the jubi which isnt wrong in my personal opinion. The eay kishi drew sasuke all suspicious and all in the previous chapters and got us all hyped up and like "omgz is sasuke gonna betray them?!" But no, it looks like kishi just did that to make things seem interesting, at least that was my take on things. Sasuke is the anti-hero, he goes against what naruto, and naruto alone wants, but we're yet to see what sasuke means by that. I wonder how kakashi and sakura are gonna react to thi, although I feel like I've got an idea of how things' ll play out.

Well to me it's very wrong and it doesn't go well with the manga message. That's why i talked about it.

Maybe it's because i think just like Naruto, but to me it's not the answer of all this to let burn the juubi.

 

Moreover, as PhenixElite said, the juubi stopped the burning alone so to think they whould have let it burn down isn't valid because it would have been impossible. =)

Wow, if i had to rate this chapter i would give it a 3.5/5 its good.

I just hope when Sakura catch wind of this, she'll definitely step in and stand against Sasuke w/ Naruto. 

 

To the Hokages- Tobirama new jutsu was cool- though i'm expecting him to use his sution sooner or later. Still waiting for Senju bro. Combo too. Finally- Madara & Hashi having another lovers quarrel fight. And predicting Minato will save the two from Obito somehow (show off more of his skillz) Tho, i can see oro & the gang /kakashi coming in as well.

I dont know what you see as betraying, but Sasuke killing Naruto in my mind is indeed betraying.

Interesting developments this chapter, we got the hint that Sasuke may still intend to go after Naruto. I'm not sure but on the last pae did Obito somehow manage to disable the IMS?

 

Also I find it odd that Obito is capable of using so much of the Juubi's power so soon, regular Jinchuriki's take years to get there but Minato and Obito did it in seconds, I understand it's probably one of those 'in the interest of time' situations but it feels like allot of the hard work Naruto, Bee and Gaara put in to control the Bijuu's power is cheapened somewhat.

Its isnt betraying since he never told naruto he wasnt gonna kill him for the matter. Its not like sasuke tokd naruto he wasnt gonna kill him or change his goals concerning naruto. So there wasnt any betraying in the first place, see where im coming from? Killing naruto is definitely wrong, but thats just how naruto and sasuke are, they never really were friendly towards eachother. What I would call betraying is if he went against konoha and his brothers dreams because we saw a change in heart after sasuke found out the truth.

I think that's called ditching. But, Naruto will be betrayed by Sasuke from doing that. What happens later as in killing Naruto is Sasuke's plan of his own, and maybe revealing it when this battle ends.

Ditch has two meanings. What I mean is leaving a person unexpectedly like abandoning and going elsewhere.

 

By the way, if Naruto is expecting that from Sasuke, it means that there's no ditching neither betrayed.

First, Sai doesn't trust in Sasuke and he asked Sakura what felt about this regarding him

Sakura made a fake smile: Clearly the girl doesn't have faith in Sasuke. She's worried for something.

Sasuke protected Naruto from Obito's attacck and says (probably to Obito): It isn't you. The one who will cut away the past is me." while he was thinking about a photo of old team 7 and he cut off Naruto's face. Why? Because he wants to kill Naruto at the end of this war or even during that.

 

It's pretty obvious that Kishi's droping some clues here and there about future development of Sasuke.

For all cases, Sasuke is going to hurt Naruto, that much is true. As for the past, yes we know it was the system that lead to his clan being killed and despite how others wanted to find peace, they went that path which made Sasuke into the person he is. But the past he wants to erase, the tailed beasts are part of that past, so its reasonable to see that because of the picture of team 7, with Naruto's face getting slashed, he intends to remove Naruto from it too because he is part of that system which allowed the troubles and corruption of the world to grow. Naruto is doing things under the right ideals though while Sasuke is doing it all by force because of what he thinks is better so no one suffers the same fate as him. For all cases though, for Sasuke, we know these to be true:

 

-He is working primarily under Itachi's sacrifice so the village and his own do not go to waste cause of Madara's plan

 

-For now, the ordeal is an enemy of my enemy type situation, he is working with the allaince to stop Madara and Obito so he can still put his plan in action, remember no world means he cannot put his plan into action, he needs to help save the world so they can at least exist for the change to happen. Compared to Obito and Madara, the corrupt ninja system he wants to change is the lesser of the evils he sees, so he is helping the allaince for this obvious reason.

 

-Sasuke's plan involves changing the shinobi world, by means if he can be hokage or just force, however unlike Sasuke, Naruto knows the real reasons for it, espcially because of what Itachi told Naruto.

 

-Itachi is the key between Sasuke and Naruto's resolution, at a point in the future, Naruto will reveal what Itachi told him, possibly even what his own parents told him and how they made him the jinchurki of kurama yet he was able to become a better person despite being born in darkness, alone, and in tragedy.

 

-Orochimaru knows what Sasuke will do, "his new wind" obviously we know this can be an obvious clue to Naruto finally changing Sasuke for the better, hence Naruto is the wind to Sasuke's fire, turning the fires of negativity to positivity. Oroachimaru is unknown at this point but he is following Sasuke also most likely going to save Yamato (someone has to).

 

-Aside from the system Sasuke wants to change, he wants to erase the past, this can have several meanings, mainly like the curse of hate, it can relate to the system again, it can even be his own. I'm betting its the curse of hate and the system intertwined because of the system is what forced Itachi to become what he was and made Sasuke go his own path too. Not to mention the system focused on the power of the tailed beast so much, its what drove events like the Uchicha being discriminated and resorting to riot in the leaf if they got the chance. Because of obito, the leaf suspected the Uchiha of being responsible for the nine tails attack. Hell this suspicion against the Uchiha went so deep, Hiruzen's old rotten teammates thought Hiruzen was trying to give control of Kurama to Sasuke because of putting Naruto and Sasuke on the same team, rather when it was because they were assigned together (with Sakura) for other reasons, Kakashi was chosen to lead mainly so he could watch over Naruto and help Sasuke with his own Sharigan, Sakura would just become a better fighter under someone like him (this was the original intent).

 

-Whatever Sasuke's actions are, its negative and someone will be hurt. At this time he shows stubbornness and still the superiority aspect of doing things his way. Jugo and Sai found he had other plans, Sai does not trust him, Sakura surprised everyone by showing this too, she does not trust him but her fake smile shows how much it hurts her and she knows it can be bad. Harshirama was frustrated with Sasuke too during the let it burn event. Now with Sasuke saying he will defeat/kill Naruto, the picture of Naruto getting cut, obviously Sasuke can be easily making good on his promise to face Naruto first (from the land of iron events) If he wants to change it, this includes defeating Naruto. Whatever the case, Sasuke intends to harm Naruto after Madara and Jubbito are dealt with. Sasuke intends to harm Naruto no matter what, it is this situation that will most likely tie into Sakura not trusting Sasuke leading to a big reaction of how Naruto and Sakura will handle Sasuke's choice despite his choice to spare the village and honor Itachi's sacrifice. If anything, Sasuke is going to spare the village because of Itachi, however he is trying to change everything by force and going about change the wrong way, Itachi wanted something better but Sasuke is doing it all wrong because unlike Naruto he does not have the right ideals or knowledge of why, as Itachi told Naruto, one only becomes hokage because they are acknowledged, one does not become hokage to be acknowledged, Naruto's orginal thought for becoming hokage was wrong, he could have become it but no one would respect him, basically Naruto worked to get the respect he did so the people would have faith and care for him, not just become accepted due to a position.  Its with these events Sasuke is doing it wrong.

 

Still I'm betting as more with Sasuke's cooperativeness is revealed, it will bring more revelation to the future conflict and ultimately development on Naruto and Sakura and that this could be the trigger for NaruSaku. With Sasuke's intent to harm Naruto being clear, its becoming more realistic to see how Sakura would react to see her best friend suffering or if she herself choses to stand fully against Sasuke when the time comes. Basically Sakura's movement from Sasuke to Naruto may start to finally be set in motion having begun at 635 and now more elements can come to build on it. God Narusaku is enjoyable for the joy, sadness, and drama, such a good pairing it hurts. Hope we get more humorous moments in the future like 631 or rather an upgrade of the 450 event, that would be nice. NaruSaku is still on track, things look very good for it.

Sasuke won't betray Naruto - they were never on the same path to begin with. He's got his own agenda, and if Naruto is going to be an obstacle, he'll knock him out of the way.

I'm sure there was an interview where Kishimoto said he wanted Sasuke and Naruto to go down different paths from the very beginning of the manga. The irony is both essentially want the same thing. The major difference is while Naruto wants to change and understand people, Sasuke just wants to do everything by force.

Killing Naruto is probably how he thinks is the easiest way to kill the old system. For all we know, if he's the strongest guy around, he doesn't need to become Hokage, he could be whatever autocrat he wants to be (daimyo?).

Sasuke doesn't seem to hate the village anymore, he just hates the whole system that turns everyone into enemies. Kishimoto has just shifted his goals so that it matches Naruto's, probably to highlight the contrast between how they're willing to reach that goal.

Kishimoto is obviusly placing Naruto and Sasuke in the same position as the brothers from the tale about Rikudo senin;

Where these two's fight began the cycle of hatred in this manga (symbolically), began the fued between Senju and Uchiha, Naruto and Sasuke's war will break the cycle of hatred and end the fued between the two lines.

 

It's hilarious how SS fandom are saying that Sasuke doesn't care about Naruto and intends to cut him off. That image of old team 7 symbolizes that he wants to kill him and stay with Sakura since she was left out from that cutting.

This just goes to show that Naruto is the one Sasuke places importance on.  Naruto is the one he considers the biggest threat to his goals ever since their skirmish at the summit (as pure opposition given Naruto's considerable strength, but also as the one capable of making him rethink things and doubt his current path).

 

Sakura simply does not have the sort of effect on him that Naruto does - heck, she really doesn't have much of an effect on him at all, though there is some.

 

Ultimately though, what most destroys this as any sort of "pro-SS" moment (as Gravenimage already said) is the fact that Kakashi is also still in the picture uncut.  This was purely meant to lay down further groundwork for the inevitable Naruto v. Sasuke, and that's it.

I believe in the next chapter, five kage will make their appearance, and maybe juubito will get back his counsiousness and perform mugen tsukoyomi.

I'm pretty sure the 5 Kages and the rest of Taka are going to show up with the next chapter or two - if Minato doesn't save the boys, then the kages will.

 

I think its probably too soon for Sakura to be jumping in when other players haven't even showed up yet to show their stuff, or when Kishi left off with Minato planning of saving them.

 

I don't think Hinata has any individualized part to play in this battle, unlike Sakura.  If she fights, I think she'll just stay as part of the rookies.

 

If anything things are starting to look good on the ns side of events, a sakura-Kushina parallel + sakura being untrusting if Sasuke + Sasuke admitting he wants to kill naruto = Sakura's reaction to Sasuke wanting to harm naruto will lead to an important event.

Exactly - this is like coloring by numbers.  There is no question this is ultimately going to lead to Sakura siding with Naruto against Sasuke.

 

Oh and the end panel was heart-wrenching! Minato's probably looking at Naruto in Obito's grip and having a terrible flashback of the last night of his life, when Obito snatched Naruto up as a baby!

This is a really interesting thought - I think you're probably right.  Poor MInato! I hope this leads to a nice father-son moment eventually.

 

I have to wonder what Minato's reaction will be upon realizing Sasuke's plans for his son though - though manybe MInato will have left by then.

Well, Minato at least can say that he's been practicing for 16 years in the stomach of the shinigami.

 

For Obito, I think its more that the Juubi is controlling Obito than the other way around (think when Gaara was overtaken by the Ichibi in part one).  If its not, then there's no logic behind it, I fully agree.
