Also, now that it has been revealed that Karin is an Uzumaki, I wonder if we should be worried about NaruKarin becoming canon.

Afterall, Naruto needs to restore his clan right?

Oh yes. Definitely. And besides, she
does fit Kushina's criteria.
Actually not at all surprising, Kushina did say her chakra was special amonst even the Uzumaki, I took it that meant Uzumaki's Chakra had large chakra levels and wasn't surprising if they had other special properties, Naruto himself has shown he has self healing abilities during the Chuunin exams even after Orichimaru sealed off access to the Kyuubi for him. Sasori and Gaara being part of Uzumaki clan isn't that fetched, there must have been a reason why they beleived Gaara would be able to hold the One Tails and Chiyo was not only a very skilled medic nin but also had enough skill as a Fuinjutsu specialist to seal the One Tails inside Gaara, Maybe that rivalry between Chiyo and Tsunade was part of them both holding the DNA of the Uzumaki clan. You also can't discredit how she was able to use her life force to save Sakura and also partially help Gaara, at her age it should be impossible to have enough life force to do so. Who knows Mei having Dual bloodline might also be down to her Uzumaki blood but her hair is not quite the same as other Uzumaki's so might not be the case, can't discount it either way.
I'd speculated in the past that Karin and Chiyo were members of the Uzumaki clan, not so much with Chiyo as she's already dead, And hey if Temari and Gaara are Uzumaki maybe that also explains th high Wind Affinity. I'll admit part of me now really wants Karin and Sasuke to get together at the end now, it would be hilarious if Naruto and Sasuke were related through marraige somehow...but damn it can you imagine how strong the child of Uzumaki and Uchiha would be? The Ying and the Yang of the Rikkuden in one body.
IMO, As Kushina said, her village was destroyed during one of the wars, so it had to have been around the Second war. At that time, the Uzumaki was scattered throughout the regions. So, it's likely that one of the Uzumaki eventually gave birth to the 4th Kazekage. Who later had Gaara as his son. So, in conclusion the Uzumaki gene in Gaara's family would likely be from their dad as both Gaara and Kankurou look very much like their dad. Kankurou might have likely been Shukaku's Jinchuuriki had his Uzumaki gene was stronger.
As for Mei, she's likely a full-blooded Uzumaki. Just a gut feeling.
You know I just thought of something, you know how Kabuto mentioned that Juugo's power comes from Ryuchidou, which allowed him to absorb the force of Nature, and Karin has a abilty very similar to Naruto in Sage mode with the Chakra sensing abilty superior to everyone else...so maybe that's why Naruto mastered being Toad Sage mode so quickly, the Uzumaki clan like Yuugo's clan got their chakra sensing abilty from mount Myoubokuzan. I wonder if the third mentioned place Shikkotsurrin is the home of the Slug Sage? And if Tsunade ever mastered the Toad Sage ability, the slugs seem to be the least troublesome from the three so I expect them to be easier to persuade to let the contract holder train as a sage, would be nice to see Sakura hold the contract and gain the ability Kishi owes Sakura that at the very least for how he's treated her for the past few years.
I actually doubt that. If there is a Slug Sennin, I think he/she would be several centuries old. Like the Great Toad/White Snake Sage. This is my theory, the Slug Sennin is actually close to and deeply respects Saiken the Rokubi. I think the Sennin may have placed Saiken on a pedestal as high as Fukasaku and Shima.
The Bijuus were likely born at around the same time the three animal sages were born, so it wouldn't be surprising if Saiken and the Slug Sage knew each other.
I think the fact that Saiken was treated like a slave and sealed within humans angered the Slug Sage. The Sage doesn't mind his slugs making contracts with humans but he/she would never let them know the secrets of Sennin Jutsu.
"Humid Bone Forest" doesn't sound very sluggy to me >_>
So does Myobokuzan.
