Anyway, fire is really deadly in this game, I feel like. My brother has less trouble fighting Frost Dragons (most likely because he's a Nord, and they have an innate resistance to Frost), than fire breathing dragons, but I do too, and I'm an Imperial.

It's possible that 'Fire Wizard' was a Dragon Priest with his annoying fireball staff I just saw my brother fight. Unless you weren't in Shearpoint.

I'm playing as an nord as well, and I know my character have an better resistance to frost, the real problem is the dragon bite, it's way too powerfull, I get killed in two hits!

I'm not one for spoilers, but after joining the Companions and doing quests for them, and once Skjor likes you, he'll offer you something that's been missing since Bloodmoon. I'm glad they put it back in the game, it's been too long since I could unleash my inner beast. tongue.gif

I give up, frost dragons are virtually impossible for me to defeat.

Just buy a ton of pots and kite the dragon into a town with guards. Little work, all the rewards.

I refuse, anything but that! I would feel like an loser going all the way to easy. Are you people sure enemies don't level up with the player? Because there are certain enemies on the game that still need to take a lot of hits even on higher levels.

I've taken down 1 or 2 frost dragons in default difficulty. How do you fight? I usually pump it full of arrows and use Unrelenting Force just before it Shouts Ice Breath to stun it. When it lands, don't attack its face, attack its flanks. It'll hit you with its wings, but I think it does less damage than its bite. Having a companion helps a lot, actually.

Do you use Light Armor?

Greatsword + Lydia= hard hitter

It's not easy to flank him, he turns incredibly fast, and I'm usually out of stamina to sprint due to the damned frost attack. I don't use bows, I'm find them too innefective and would take forever to kill an dragon with it. I'm using heavy armor actually, one of the best ones no less. Wich level you was when you fought them? I also have an companion, but it's that useless chick from the bar at Whiterun, damn,' I need to get ride of her... Lydia it's an excellent companion, and I didn't really wanted to take her to my dangerous travels after getting married to her, but I guess I have no choice.
I just found an one handed katana that does 25 extra damage points against dragons, let's see if it's any good.

I'm level 14-15 when I killed my first two Frost Dragons.... Dude, you don't use arrows against them? There were times when a dragon landed in the middle of rocks and all I did was hide in those rocks for cover and hit it with arrows before finishing its tiny health with a sword. Lydia tanks very well when the dragon lands, usually it's attacking her while I hit its flanks. By the time Lydia goes down, the dragon turns to me and I just keep swinging while I keep moving around it.

If you can't flank it, use Unrelenting Force to buy you a few seconds while it's stunned. Or use Fire Breath for Damage while attacking your companion.
It's a really amateurish technique, I'm sure muffins or other people have better strategies against a dragon.

Well there really is no win all strategy in this game since every character is different. Though I just easily killed a frostdragon near some stables. It was pretty funny, had a horse tanking the dragon while I sat in the back with fireball spell and my skull of corruption. Took it down in about 3 minutes didn't have to use a single pot. This would be my level 15 char too.

Alright, I'm gonna see if any of the tips work. BTW, it's just me, or some times it's just impossible to get an dragon atention? I tried shouts, arrows, spells and what not, but the bastard won't take notice to me. I wish they would make an update to make dragons hostile on sight, that would save an lot of trouble.

The developers have said that not all dragons are hostile to you. Sometimes it's because you're located a bit too far from where they're 'nesting' and the dragon'll just circle you in the air then go away after awhile.....

And sometimes, a 2nd dragon will land in the middle of the Winterhold Mage College and everyone'll start flinging magic at it, resulting in a quick death.

Happened to me.

Well, that's an pitty, dragons battles are ratter rare to me, and since they are the coolest thing to do in the game I don't want to miss one. I started fighting blood dragons, fighting them is very intense, I love it.

I just finished the book of love quest, I personally thought that the ending was very touching.

I've fought regular dragons, frost dragons, and ancient dragons so far. I usually come across one every couple hours or so.

Heh, I have yet to encounter a single dragon (outside of the one in the opening quest). Although, I am purposely avoiding the main storyline for the moment.

You haven't experienced the full cofusion of modern gender relations until you've heard an angry group of women yelling, "We want tentacles!" at an all-night Hentai-fest.

If you go towards the Greybeards by road, you'll most likely encounter one guarding a tomb.

Well you don't encounter random dragons until after the second dragon you kill in the main story. It's about two quests after you go to see the greybeards so not much time needs to be invested to get it.

It's called replayability... XD

Plus, they have a system called Radiant Quest or something that generates quest suited to your gameplay, so they'll always have a quest for you.

And muffin, I actually did encounter and fight another dragon before I even talked to the Greybeards but after I killed the dragon in Whiterun. There's a tomb off to the side of the road heading from Whiterun to Ivarstead that was guarded by a dragon when I trekked to Ivarstead. I was hunting an elk when it suddenly landed right behind me like some kind of Dragon ninja.... Or whatever those upside down U with a line in the middle map icons are suppose to be.
