Well if Naruto follows the path of his master, then he won't be able to redeem Sasuke, if Sasuke follows the path of his master, and it won't work with the new generation surpassing the older considering that Naruto has already surpassed his master, in the way he didn't fell prey to his vices, and he was able to completely master senjutsu. While Sasuke surpassed his master in the way, that Orochimaru wasn't that psychotic.

Naruto's only hope, take all the lessons he learned from being a host, and imply it into Sasuke.

And that's one reason I think Sasuke's redemption is a near certainty and why I think he likely to survive. One of Kishimoto's not so subtle messages is that the younger generation surpasses the older one. I don't think that will be an exception.

I also see that happening as Kishi wouldn't kill off one of his main characters, though Sasuke wasn't originally gonna be a character...

Well, I'm into the "Naruto should save Sasuke" side. Totally. Faithfully.

I would be very, very disappointed if Naruto failed to save him, and as he said TWICE, he would not be fit to be the best Hokage if he cannot save his best friend. Right now, he is the ONLY one who can do it, so, go Naruto, go!

Team 7 and the intricate, difficult and poignant bonds of the three is what made me, a geek over the age of 30, to be hooked by the Naruto series. Even my passion for the narusaku pairing stemmed from team 7 bonds...
So, yeah, I do hope that Naruto proves to be true to his word of never giving up till the end...otherwise his whole life would have consisted of just empty words.

me too :o its like if your friend is doing drugs or something you wont just watch him waste away and do crazy stuff, you gotta help him. sasuke isnt a villain hes a dude that went over to the bad side cause hes sad/ insane. he lost his way. so naruto needs to help him and bring him back >

^^^^^ Hmmm, I see. Now none of you may or may not follow wrestling but this reminds me of a story where there was a wrestler named Eddie Guerrero and he was a good guy at heart but he had a drinking and painkiller addiction, his best friends Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko, who was an another wrestler, saw it and was probably willing to do anything to help him out and not give up on him, and through the crap Eddie put Chris and Dean through as well as the crap he put through his family, his wife, his long time friends, Eddie manage to get clean for a while before he died due to the aftereffects of the drugs, but there was at least a happy ending, which was Eddie and Chris walking away with the world titles and hugging and the confetti falling in Madison Square Garden in New York, before that.

What did this have to do with the topic? Well, part of me wants Sasuke to die to pay for his actions and his hurting towards Naruto and Sakura, however the other part of me wants him to be somewhat redeemed by Naruto and only Naruto to show that maybe they can have that happy ending I was talking about and that Naruto ends up with Sakura but you already know that part.

Wouldn't Sasuke betray Orochimaru's generation by going redemption? I mean Orochimaru wasn't redeem, if Sasuke is redeem wouldn't that had make him look weaker in Orochimaru's eyes instead of stronger? Maybe there won't be a redemption, you cannot redeem those who don't want to be redeemed. Sasuke believes his choices are just, in his mind he sees his actions as fair and just, and Naruto's way as cruel and oppressive. How is he going to be redeemed from that?

Well there's no point in arguing about it you either want him dead or you don't. want him redeemed or have him be an eternally angry a****** in hell. lets just see how it plays out

I personally think naruto should save sasuke. because, if naruto was asked to be hokage he would reject because he couldnt save one friend. also think about how sad naruto would be for the rest of the series if he never saved sasuke. he would probably never stop sulking. (we all dont want to see naruto sulk like he did when jiraya died) if sasuke does die, he should die saving naruto or something because then naruto might think he saved sasuke because sasuke died saving naruto's life.

thats not it. the idea is this generation is going to break the chain. orochimaru turned evil and wasnt redeemed, sasuke must be redeemed to break it. its not about who is stronger, in fact isnt being on the good side considered stronger anyway? sasuke will not be weak if hes redeemed.

and just cause sasuke doesnt want to be redeemed thats a good reason not to try and help him??? like i said before if a friend is doing drugs and thinks its fine is that a good reason not to help him. just cause he doesnt want to be redeemed doesnt mean he shouldnt be.

in fact i think its worst to let your friend fall like that. i support naruto in redeeming sasuke.

I won't lie, I feel the same way sometimes but you have to understand . Sasuke is narutos rivil and best friend.
Sasuke is one of narutos closest and truest friend. The only one he could understand. They both have huge burdens to bare. Naruto knows this burden by carrying the nine tails , sasuke the killing of he's entire clan. People looked down upon these people. Yes sasuke has done bad things and has become a much darker character than before. But naruto doesn't want to see his bestfriend turn completly into darkness, he doesn't want him to feel so sad anymore. He wants to save his bestfriend , the person he worked so hard on achiving for he to realize he as an equal. Sasuke admit to naruto that he was he's most precise friend.....

After hearing that, Naruto well never give up on Sasuke.

I have long since stopped caring about Naruto becoming Hokage TBH, it is obviously the least important of his goals at the moment, he has way more important ones then that (The Sasuke thing, Sakura, The Promise he left Nagato, and lets not forget stopping the war).

His wish to become hokage was more about him being important to the village some day (wich he already is).

Sasukes redemption seems far fetched, but Naruto (with some help from Itachi) will probably find some way.

I don't want Sasuke to live now, mainly cause of one very disturbing couple that has been around since episode 3/chapter 1 that I completely disregarded till it become to over powering...serious fan girls of this couple, go read your garbage in some other manga...I'm also tired of seeing these pictures on DA and their creators lying that it involves NaruSaku

As much as I'd like to see Naruto save Sasuke from the darkness, I just don't see it happening. Wherever Naruto likes it or not, Sasuke is a wanted criminal and he won't be welcomed back with open arms. He's going to be tried as a criminal and end up rotting in prison for the rest of his life or there's always the case scenario where he becomes a wanderer of sorts to atone for his sins, but I'd much rather see him burn in hell for what he's caused.

So basically the odds are against Naruto to save Sasuke to the point where it is pointless and impossible. However, this is Naruto we're talking, he can do anything that is pointless and impossible to the point where it can mean something big and can happen and if it leads to Sakura verbally blowing off Sasuke (as in actually bash him) for Naruto, I'm all for it.

Naruto needs to realize that Sasuke...sort of choose this lifestyle. And only Sasuke can redeem Sasuke. Naruto can show him the way, but in the end, it will all be up to him to continue down his path, or turn back and rethink.
