The only negative thing about this episode it will fuel and lift the hopes of a certain fandom dancing in joy saying that "no doubt N/H will be canon Kishi will make it come true" I am not bashing here just stating a fact.
Don't try to deny it. She is obviously in love with him and wants to be with him.
Too bad she just isnt the right girl for him. I kinda feel bad for her.

But Sakura is the right girl.
EDIT: Oh, and everyone here that says this episode was bad is just a plain narusaku fanboy.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all NaruSaku and I actually dont even like Hinata, but this episode was great. How she tried everything to safe him and was then pushed away in front of his eyes and everything went silent for a second. Awesome. Great direction on that episode.
I just really really hope that Kishi writes scenes like that for NaruSaku soon as well. Because Sakuras confession wasnt nearly as epic. You cant deny that.

Yup Hinata definitely has a valid, real love for Naruto. Thats always been evident. The episode wasnt baTh
The episode wasnt bad all around, what annoyed me was the extended fight scene. Now If I were a NaruHina fan I admit, I'd be all over this like a a Bee on Honey. But it didn't happen in the manga and went on for too long and was over dramatic. If you were personally touched, good, but don't go off calling other people plain fanboys.

This is just like the time when Hinata's confession came out of the manga, the narusaku fans were freaking out (including me) over the whole ordeal while the naruhina fans were celebrating and having a field day. To all the people at this forum that think that the animators are going to tone down Sakura's hug and confession scene and make it more naruhina/sasusaku I have this to say.............
NO THEY ARE NOT. CALM DOWN. I DO NOT EVEN THINK KISHIMOTO WOULD LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT. WE WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE. IT IS TOO EARLY TO TELL IF THEY WILL MESS UP THOSE SCENES FOR THE SAKE OF THERE OWN PREFERENCES. IF THEY MADE AN ENDING DEDICATED TO SAKURA, NARUTO, AND NARUSAKU THEN WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT THEY WON'T GIVE THOSE MOMENTS THE EQUAL TREATMENT AND RESPECT THAT IT DESERVES.
By the way, I'm not typing shouts, I'm just trying to make it clear so I can get my point across.

I was thinking that perhaps if Hinata was actually like that more in the manga (assuming she had screen time) then myself and a lot of others might appreciate her more. *shrug* But then I'm one who never really minded NaruHina to begin with, I just like NaruSaku a lot more.
As for the animation, some parts of it were animated really well, and others had me raising an eyebrow - mostly during the flashbacks.

I think they could have left out the bully part and some of the other flashbacks and still had a quality episode. And for the people that were suprised Hinata hit Pein in this episode, it wasn't really because Hinata had superior skills. If I remember right, Nagato spit up blood and lost concentration on his Pein puppet that allowed hinata to hit him.

What I have an issue with is the over dramatization and nigh attempted canonnization of a minor and quite frankly insignifigant side character by the animation staff.
simply put while i dont mean to bruise the egos of her fandom, the character of Hinata Hyuuga is quite simply wholey irrelevant to the plot of Naruto as a whole. All of her plot points could easilly be done just as good if not better by other characters with similar or better development.
simply put she just isnt that important

This makes me glad that I don't watch the anime anymore that much (when I do, I watch the English dub anyways because I speak English and I don't want to read subs the entire time); the manga is all we need!
I personally hope that they keep supporting NaruHina in the anime and dissing/degrading NaruSaku. Why you may ask? Because it will be hilarious when NaruSaku becomes canon and the biased anime company will have a lot of dirt on their hands.

I think he will because what he said about Hinata in the last interview there is a possibility that he won't agree with how the animators made the episode which it was way completely different than how he shows in his manga 437.

The studio Pierot are N/H supporters there were rumors that a long time ago Pierot asked Kishi to give Hinata more development in his manga making her like a main character, in other words they want her to have more development with Naruto. His answer was no.
