Yeah, I'm not upset at all, and I think Abrams book is a good thing, he's pointing out the cultural shifts we need to make to make this world a happier and better place. Explaining sound scientific basis of Abrams words is fun for me, I'm a research geek extraordinaire and I love to share- that's why I love being a librarian. I'm ignoring the squabbling and whining- that happens any time anything comes up that challenges the "way things have always been".
I definitely agree with Abrams the majority of women still have self-confidence issues. I know I've struggled with that all my life to my frustration. In fact, one of the few weaknesses my supervisor told me I had as a reference librarian at my most recent annual evaluation was my level of self-confidence when I felt uncertain. Heh, didn't realize I came across like Choujiro at those times, but I guess I do.
