may be off topic but Hybristophilia is an interesting read regarding dysfunctional relationship. i only learnt this term today, never knew the whole girl-love-bad-boy thing may actually be set in reality

I can really only think that those types of cases involve some form of messed up childhood or something drastic and dramatic happened in ones life... but I can't think of any reason on this planet we call Earth as to how Sakura would grow so attached to a one point in time killer and homicidal maniac, her backstory suggests nothing... bullying is not that traumatizing unless you have no friends in life whatsoever or something to that extent, but even still the only thing linked to her childhood is her crush on Sasuke because he was popular and she herself wanted to be popular. The only thing I can remotely think is that she's doing it to spite her parents who, outside of Road to Ninja (which sadly cannot be considered true canon), we know absolutely nothing about. If RTN (God I love that movie) is to considered her parents though, then Sakura must secretly be one of the most horrifying characters introduced, because nothing suggests that type of behavior.

To think any of this could have been avoid if you just keep to the damn story you were writing... there's absolutely nothing wrong with moving on from the negative influence in your life and forming one with someone who would literally give his own life up just for you to be happy. Given my limited psychology background up to this point... when I really think long and hard about NaruHina and SasuSaku on a realistic plain... the results are quite terrifying.

Oh but Naruto takes place in a fantasy world, we try to avoid the real world by reading it... yeah well, my suspension of disbelief gets thrown out the go*damn window when you base your kitten on real life tendencies. Naruto just might be the most realistic of fantasies that actually has a negative effect on the real world despite it's once powerful message. No f***ing amount of fantasy could change my opinion of falling for a girl with no personality of her own, that's been stalking me, that takes everything I say to heart, that adopts everything I say with nothing to offer about herself, who's submissive and generally has no faith in my capabilities. No amount of fantasy could change my opinion of a guy somehow changing in a heartbeat because I kept telling him he's taking the wrong path, that he just magically isn't gonna kill an entire village/nation/leaders, that he just somehow is so pure that he's corrupt-able and that he secretly wishes to love despite stating he sees no purpose in it.

Okay I think I've made my point...

In the novels she still liked Naruto. She got jealous when he was spending more time with Hinata, said she wished Sasuke was more like Naruto and was the only person who didn't give a positive toast to NH wedding (oh yeah two of the novels she was also suffering from depression)  Then there's the fact that Sasuke never even kissed Sakura they're whole relationship let alone had sex

Oh. You read the novel?

NaruHina does not make sense and never will.  There's a double standard for Hinata-- "but she loves Naruto!"  So did Naruto for Sakura, Rock Lee for Sakura, Ino for Sasuke, and Karin for Sasuke.  So did Jiraiya for Tsunade.  Hinata may have got her happy ending at the end but it still doesn't make sense.

Naruto was supposed to find a girl like KUSHINA.

Naruto's love interest was SAKURA.

Sasuke treated Sakura like trash.

The heroine wasn't supposed to get this kind of ending.

All for Hinata.  I admit, I still despise her deep down.  My disgust for this character is unlimited.  She ruined my Sakura-chan and for that she can go f**ck herself (even though she's not real lol).

Well, NHtards and SSsettlers have the so-called "canon" ending but we still have the entire series.  Endings don't matter when they don't connect to the story.

Ugh, I still can't believe what Naruto has turned into.  I don't give a sh**t about Boruto and the horrible naruhina devil spawns.  NARUTO AND SAKURA STILL MAKES MORE SENSE! :)

The whole trophy, aka Second Place, is a paradox invented by the NaruHina fans to discredit NaruSaku as a possibly because of Sakura's so called deep seated love for Sasuke that if she couldn't end up with him, Naruto would be the back up guy. It's a paradox because we already know Naruto loved Sakura no matter what happened to him both physically and emotionally. The irony in all this is we know Naruto wouldn't settle for being just a silver medal, unlike Hinata who didn't give a damn about being the second girl in Naruto's life. Oh wait, the movie decided to screw the manga and made Naruto a complete and utter moron who has no clue what love is...

Which is why the last is so screwed up. They want Hinata to be the first girl and the golden prize. Which is what they want her and see her as. But deep down they know Sakura hold those positions. So they make hinata a princess (to make her the top prize), make Naruto a rock(so he can have no other love other then hinata), make Sakura a cupid (because they need her to support the pairing because she does have that much control over both Naruto the fans and them), have the dueling scarves of motherly love and obsessive devotion, made NS a side effect of the SNS rivalry, had Toneri to turn nH into a competition, and so much more.

Hinata wasn't even the first at anything in Naruto's life, like ever... Iruki was his first true bond, Sasuke was his first sibling relationship and savoir as well, Sakura was his first love, Kakashi was like his first teacher, Jiraiya was like his first  father/grandfather figure (Iruka to me seemed more like an older brother), list goes on yet I cannot legit come up with anything Hinata did first. Talk about him behind his back kindly? Chapter 698 claims that to be untrue as well as Sasuke seemed to have admired Naruto from afar before Hinata did.

Fixed. Technically neither hinata nor Sasuke talked about what they thought about Naruto to anyone. Eventually people around her (not Naruto) pick up that hinata had a crush and tried pushing her to talk to him. Which she never did leading to frustration.

Again, this is trying to put story logic into something that has no logical idea in the first place.

There isn't some secret underlying genius storytelling here....just a simple "We did what we wanted without caring about consequences and then blame everyone else for the failure."

And Gaiden makes Naruto look like he settled for Hinata because Sakura was too much into Sasuke. So, if you think about it, they used the Silver Medal to discredit NS, but use it as a means to say "This is why NH is better because she IS that silver Medal he deserved."

That is what Hinata is...she is the silver medal trophy because no matter what happened no matter how hard Naruto tried...he always lost to Sasuke....even in the very end. People actually think Naruto won that fight, but all he did was gave up everything for someone who didn't even want it,

Didn't Sakura in that talk/lecture she had to Naruto in the Last. They have her say that Naruto confessed to her and she rejected it? Also in Shikamaru's novel. The only scene I read is one were Naruto still hits on Sakura were she reject him mentioning she waiting on Sasuke. So basically Kishi through the manga, SP through their movie, and SJ through the novels. All admit that basically Naruto settled for hinata because Sakura was still too obsessed with Sasuke.

Hell look at what they did with their lives. Naruto in theory on the battle between which reform that should take to change the ninja system. Naruto internal reform with everyone working together. Sasuke with absolute power to destroy everyone who disagrees with them while he stalks in the shadows. Sasuke admits to defeat and in theory should have went with Naruto's plan. Instead he went on a journey to "find himself," and came back with that being a "shadow of the shinobi" thing. Which apparently people consider both in story and by the sasuke fans makes Sasuke co-hokage with Naruto. Naruto on the other hand despite winning had to wait over a dozen years before he could become hokage. By the time he became it. He was so overwhelm that he as far as we know hasn't enacted any reforms and is only the "celebrity hokage." His marriage and family life are also failing.

And in not a single one of those medias does Naruto say that he was in love with Hinata. Not....a single....one.

So in the end, SS and NH are canon, but Naruto still loves Sakura, Sasuke doesn;t give a kitten, Hinata is merely the back-up plan, and Naruto is living a miserable life.

Great job, Naruto

Great job, Naruto.

It's not even like she was his "Plan B." Remember the last movie is about seeing "the true love of nH" happen. What we see is Naruto acting more or less the same with hinata as he normally does. Ie a friend that he only occasionally talks to since she rarely if ever takes the initiative to interact with him. Hinata gives up the second she see a scarf around Naruto neck. And it basically up to Sakura "The girl that rejected Naruto feeling(according to the movie)"  has to put them together with the help of Shikamaru brow beating him and threatening that if he doesn't fall in love with her he won't become hokage, a genjutsu guilt trip, and toneri pursuing hinata there for making a competition between the two to see which gets her hand.
