Probably asking a dumb question, but has anyone ever wondered how the story would have turned out if Naruto was the one that went for Orochimaru to gain power?

Probably asking a dumb question, but has anyone ever wondered how the story would have turned out if Naruto was the one that went for Orochimaru to gain power?

Well, the show would end more darker than Eva at that point. I mean sheesh, no one is safe. Also, many arcs would be cut, or cut super short. For example, if Sasuke was doing the role of Naruto, Gaara would be dead, Konoha would be destroyed with way more casualty, and so on. Trust me, the story would have been drastically different.

You know, the one thing I would say this for NH: give me Yamato's words writing on Naruto (character) and then I would reconsider this pairing as a possible romance.

Got no real question, but here's one.

 

Be 100% honest. Did the fact you like the pairing increase your likeness for both of them individually?

 

In a slight way, yes. But my opinions on shippings and characters formed almost at the same time, so it's hard to really say.

 

Mostly, at this point, I focus more on the characters than the pairings. I'll bring up Sakura as an example. Even though I love her character deeply, I didn't agree with her confession to Naruto entirely. It was a mistake, but pairing-wise it did put the ship in a "make or break" type of situation.

I can't imagine it, because Orochimaru was always interested in Sasuke and the Sharingan.  It wasn't a matter of who could have gone, but who he was interested in.

No doubt it would have been interesting, if Orochimaru was interested in an Uzumaki body instead of an Uchiha.  I can't help, but feel it would be played at as part of Sasuke's redemption.  He too realizes their places could have been reversed.

You know, if Orochimaru was more interested in Uzumaki's body, Sasuke will be go all rage mode, so the series could actually end before part 2 even begin. I remember he kept bragging that he's more special than Naruto, then feels reassured that the only reason why is because he has Kyuubi. But now, well they are team, so not good for Sasuke.

^ From a significant amount of fiction, the underdog tends to grow at a fast rate and surpass the elite, because they are more determined and have much more to prove.  As cheesy as it sounds, the underdogs like Naruto are able to grow so strong because they have the heart to surpass the limits.  Sasuke will just have to accept it.

But he won't and that's why the fight will happen. Sasuke is still annoyed that he's getting stronger. Shouldn't you be like "Oh he's getting stronger. Ok, two can play that game" in a friendly way? Sheesh, lighten up.

Well, that doesn't make sense. Shouldn't Shikamaru be the knight since that's what he was compared to in the manga? But it's cool that Naruto and Sakura are king and queen.

I don't mind. No doubt if Sasuke wasn't there, Shikamaru would have been it but it's still nice to acknowledge his importance all around. Funny how far he has gotten.

not sure about this, but in that shikamaru arc didn't he say he is a mere 'pawn' to protect the 'king' (children of the village)

Well there's no need to take it too seriously .

 

If we go with this line of thought then it wouldn't make sense for Naruto being the King either since the King is supposed to represent the Village loved ones whom must be protected at all cost, while not possessing any remarkable skills. Naruto as the strongest warrior is best suited being the Queen and Shikamaru as a strategist should be representing the Knight like you've mentioned.

 

But nonetheless, it was a nice find since the characters are representing a different kind of role if you know what I mean.

Now that you mention it, I think you are right. It was Asuma that compared him to the knight, but Shikamaru considered himself a pawn in honor of Asuma, I think?

I have always thought that NH biggest threat isn't NS but itself. It has always been Hinata>Naruto and if it is Naruto>Hinata( which is rare) it always end with friendship.  Hinata is the one that will destroy her own ship. She already cracked her ship with the smile in the Pein arc.

Oddly enough, this latest chapter gave me the reason why I don't care for NH in pairing war.
