As for a Hinata-Rin parallel connection .... it wouldn't make any logical sense. Sure, what little we saw of Rin depicted her as kind and sweet girl. She was mild-mannered like Hinata, not short-tempered like Sakura. That is a personality similarity, but it's not enough for a parallel by any means. In this case, Rin has to paralleled to another based on circumstance. Hinata never fell for the "cool kid", she fell for the "loser".  Both suffered from unrequited love, but so did Obito.  There's a clear issue here with an ObiRin/NaruHina parallel connection. Hinata almost died (Rin actually died), but it won't fit the situation. Do NH fans honestly believe Naruto will talk no jutsu Obito by mentioning Hinata almost dying for him? It's incomparable. There's a difference between a friend dying and a woman you loved dying. What's more is that Naruto's breakdown for HInata's near-death wasn't just because of her, it was just the trigger that unleashed all of his suppressed anger and stress (Village getting destroyed, Jiraiya dying, Kakashi dying). It was more of a "I can't take this anymore" moment of Naruto's, not a "The woman I love just got killed" moment. Comparing Obito's experience to Naruto's is like comparing apples to oranges. -_-

Sakura, though different than Rin, fits the circumstance criteria needed for a Obito talk no jutsu. She held one-sided love for the skilled, cool guy in her team who loved no one romantically, while the loser teammate fell in love with her, but she simply cared for him. That's literally a mirror image of Part 1 Team 7.

Hinata will not be related to Rin or seriously injuried/killed to "change" Obito. The person who will go through that is Sakura and no one else.

"I absolutely can't let you die! I can't! I won't let you die ... your stupid dream ... now it's ... it's right in front of us!!"                                                                             ----Sakura Haruno

We also have to keep in mind that all the major parallels are Team 7-centric and even more specifically they are Naruto-centric.  Sakura is the girl who Naruto loves, just like Rin is the girl who Obito loves.  The only reason there could have been some doubt about the MK parallel to NS is because MK weren't teammates, they didn't face the same sort of team-politics that Naruto and Sakura did.  It was still obvious that MK paralleled NS, but because of that difference there was a slight, slight chance that we could be surprised.  With ObiRin's parallel, there is no doubt.  Especially now that MK's parallel to NS has been confirmed and especially after Kishi took the time to recreate the conversation that Naruto and Sai had for Obito and Minato regarding Sakura and Rin respectively (chapters 457 and 637).

Naruto hates books because of how he grew up. He was hated as a child so he became a troublemaker to get attention. As a troublemaker, you don't normally read books and actively participate in class, so it's only normal for you to develop a dislike for those things.

Here's a question:

Is NS one of your top 3 most eye on pairing to see whether it will be canon or not? Why? What I'm asking is if NS is one of those pairings that you feel like it can be canon or not, or you feel like it's too easy to predict, so you just lay back and watch. Think as a Super Bowl game, where you just feel so worried to see if your team wins in the end. Feel free to actually name your top 3.

Being honest the only thing i dislike when it comes to NS, it's the fact that almost 99% of the doujin and stuff.

Naruto either gets trolled or Sakura plays the hardest girl.
I dont understand it.

Why those things always end up with Naruto being trolled, or Sakura obviously liking Naruto but literally tries to reject it, i dont understand it, she was extremely easy when it comes to Sasuke but with Naruto she's the hardest girl ever who even tries to reject her feelings.

Also does this has to do with Naruto's persona maybe she dislike Naruto's ignorance and his childish behavior?

So does Sakura has a natural rejection attitude when it comes to Naruto because of his immaturity and ignorance?

The people on this forum know better than anyone else why NaruSaku will be the end pairing. At this point I personally am just waiting for it to become canon while making predictions and interpreting scenes as the chapters come out.

I can see only one way for NaruSaku to not happen. Sakura has to die as a test to see if Naruto will go insane and join the dark side. This would make sense because Obito joined the dark side for the exact same reason. In other words, it would be one final parallel.

The Toad elder did say that Naruto will either be the savior of the world or the destroyer of the world. Right now he has yet to save or destroy the world, so Sakura's death could act as a catalyst to make him a destroyer.

Personally I think Kishimoto is going to go for the cliche fairytale ending where Naruto saves the world, gets the girl, and becomes hokage. Now that may seem boring, but Naruto is very much a stereotypical shonen series. Naruto is a goofy good willed hero  who values his friends deeply. Sakura is a Tsundere who supports the main character and slowly falls in love with him. Sasuke is the  cool elite rival who gives the hero motivation to get stronger. Jiraiya is the old master who paves the way for the next generation to surpass him.

Having a decent amount of knowledge about Japanese culture, manga plotlines, and character archetypes make it pretty clear what's going to happen in Naruto. What isn't clear is how that will happen.

Ultimately it comes down to this : Will Sakura die or will she live? If she dies then NaruSaku won't happen. If she lives then NaruSaku will happen.

tl;dr I'm 99% sure that NaruSaku will happen and am currently waiting for it to become canon.

It would really depend on how Kishimoto went about it, whether I could accept NaruSaku not being canon. It can be tricky to end with an open pairing or one that is only left implied. It can be pulled off, but I feel it's unlikely here, at this point Kishi has already reached the "point of no return", where not making the pairing official will make him look like a cop-out. I will say that shipping an almost-but-not-quite-canon pairing can be very painful for the feels, I think you know what/who I'm talking about.

And I don't have a top three pairings that I'm waiting to see whether they become canon or not, since Soul Eater is over, just two and that's Naruto/Sakura and Oz/Alice from Pandora Hearts, well I suppose I could count Yoshimori/Tokine, though Kekkaishi is not an on-going manga, I just haven't finished it yet. I do plan to read Attack on Titan soon so maybe I'll end up with another to add to the list.

I guess this is a joke? Still, pairings aren't that big of a deal in Japan, they're more about fanarts, doujins and events than pairing wars.

Yeah, the Japanese don't appear to take these things to heart the way the west seems to, and the ones who like to issue threats and such over the internet rarely have the gumption to follow through with them in real life anyway.

Well, nice answers from all of you. I admit it's sometimes frustrating to see a pairing not being a romance pairing in the end because it's either not the author's focus or just didn't feel like it needed it. While I do acknowledge not all series should have romance, especially depending on genre, but to me and only me, I feel like it's needed. I could blame my childhood growing up with love ending but really, I just can't see romance being ignored. I will acknowledge it especially if one is very bro-like materials, but eh, kind of turn off to me. Lol. I blame my childhood.

Or said author decides to be a troll and dangle it in front of reader's faces. :P  And I also agree that romance is not suitable in all stories, but when it's done right it adds to the overall impact.

Agreed. Still, if you have an obvious friendship with two opposite sex, no, scratch that, just far beyond friendship feelings with any, then just capitalize it. I would say if you don't want that, just make the other main character as a relative to the protagonist, though when dealing in Japan, don't go with cousins because they can still date. Best safe is brother and sister by blood.

I think Okubo's just one of those writers that just likes to tease readers, he does it time and time again, and not just with pairings. Seriously, he's a troll and proud of it I think.

Sorry, Atsushi Okubo, Soul Eater mangaka.

Oh! Whoops. Forgot. Lol. Well, sometimes the first time work, let alone a hit one, usually tells you what the mangaka is capable of, unless said otherwise. Kishi's first work is Naruto, so after seeing it done, we will know how he works. I guess that's why people don't read the next work sometimes because some felt cheated in one way or another. Not only romance is in effect, but in anything. Examples like Naruto still lose to Sasuke, no romance resolution, no witnessing Naruto achieving his dream, etc. We want our time to be worth it and we can only hope that he is capable to solve many, including the romance. Don't worry, it has happened to me.

Definitely, an author's first work can make or break their career and anything Kishimoto does next will be judged, by some extent, on what he did with Naruto, and whether he delivered or not.

This may be a little off-topic, but do you guys really consider Kishi a troll? I know a lot of people have accused Kishi of trolling in the Naruto fandom, but honestly... I don't see it. When has he really trolled a portion of the fandom? One could argue he trolled NaruHina in chapter 616, but I feel as if it was more NH trolling themselves. Honestly believing that their ship was canon after that moment was a mistake and led them into feeling as if they were trolled after 616 came out. They developed a false sense of security which was easily broken. Other then 616 being considered a moment where he trolled fans, I don't really see any other reason to call him a troll... So why is he labeled as such in the fandom?
