Why did he used a regular rassengan? I don't like how Tokai drew Hinata's behavior in the past several sequences. She does not look conflicted nor in a state of distraught, especially, Naruto's dialogue, "Hinata will never go with you."
 
Not even a flinch like she's brainwashed or just don't care.   It's just add more fuel to pro anti-Hinata club.

I also got vibes of when Vegeta sacrificed himself to try to kill Fat Buu when he was slowly coming to his senses after having the evil in his heart retain by allowing Babidi to give him Majin power.

I also could suspect that were gonna see some more stuff with Toneri and his plans since obviously that Tokai isnt doing all the things done in the movie itself, or if he is, hes following established canon logic, like how Kurama helped Naruto out during the Genjutsu stuff.

So much Tokai can do he can be more like Mashima and ad in so ecchie scene to spice things up. Visiting the past NS comic relieve scene such as Naruto wanting to take a leak in the woods but Sakura stops him. She blushes when Naruto told her that. A completely different scenario than part 1 Sakura where she obviously want nothing to do with Naruto physically. 
 
Tokai can use this scene some where in the cave after Naruto wakes up from healing and needs to to the bathroom and Sakura catches him unzipping his pants 
Another alternative is that Sakura finds a hot spring and decides to wash off and Naruto accidentally discovers her bathing upon waking up and roams the cave. This could easily set up Naruto to give Sakura an second impression from the opening Part 2 where Sakura asked him that if she looked "more womanly" when he sees her in the nude   . These tropes usually is followed up by a tsundere beat down. Overall, NS pairing needs some RomCom because there is too much drama in the canon.
 
I don't expected to see a full on nude if this scene were to take place because the private parts will usually be clouded out which is normal censorship in Shonen manga.
