In manga time, her confession was a week or two ago AT THE MOST and Sai's flashback was revealed a week or two AGO at the most. It wouldn't make sense for Sai to have a flashback of Naruto saying he's totally in love with Sakura and then suddenly he isn't by the time her confession comes around. And everyone knows (as evidenced by Sakura herself and Obito and Jiraiya) that no one in the Naruto verse gets over love in a week's time. That is enough confirmation for me.

Sig made by me though. XD

Ohh I see. I thought he had confirmed it in an interview or something. I tend to forget stuff when we get 16 pages of the story per week.

Doing something and thinking about doing something are different. She thought she could live without Sasuke. Sure, Sakura had the resolve to do what was best for Sasuke and Naruto, but once she confronted Sasuke her resolve crumbled because of her feelings for him. The whole plan went down hill because of Sasuke. That's one of the many things I hate what Kishi has done to Sakura's character is that her love just makes absolutely no sense at all. I can't stress that enough.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Kushina fall for Minato because he complimented her hair? Fickle, right? And Kishi has already used his bad writing when it comes to the romance subplot, well in my opinion anyway.
P.S. The thought of Hinata letting go of Naruto is just plain laughable.

I'll compliment what you're insecure about, and you better fall in love with me!

I'm a girl, and sometimes getting compliments can make me more insecure because I feel like people are putting expectations on me that I can't fulfill. So, I'd rather not have compliments and just do what I do most of the time. It all depends on what it is really.
For example:
- Compliments about my appearance = I think they're lying
- Compliments about my 'good' writing = I think they're lying
- Compliments about my drawing = I will take, as long as it isn't too .... juicy?
- Compliments about my cooking = I think they're lying unless they've eaten the whole meal, then I feel proud because I can't cook. XD
Hm... that's about all I can think of. Some people maybe thing it's low self esteem, but I just like being realistic about my abilities and appearance. If I were in Kushina's situation, I probably would adore Minato's statement. If it had been any other day and he came up to me and said that, I'd think he's lying. But he searched for her and found her when no one else could, because of her hair. Then he complimented her about it. I'd definitely be extremely flattered and develop a crush. (who wouldn't?)

That's nice and all, but clearly that's not what Kishi was thinking about when he wrote the romance for that scene. It seemed like the way to win Kushina's heart was just to compliment her hair, which is even more apparent due to the fact that she put so much emphasis on it during the flashback. Yes, he was the only one who rescued her. But honestly, it was more about the fact he complimented her hair. And no, she didn't develop a crush right then and there, she immediately fell in love with him. Didn't know it was that simple to have a girl fall for you. Thnx 4 da tip, Kishi

ROTF! You're a riot dude.
ALSO, all Naruto needs to do is whip out that line. "I like your forehead Sakura", and we're golden!

Why do people hold on to that scene like it's actually going to cement NS in becoming canon? If Kishi is actually going to use that scene to make NS canon, I'm going to vomit on my mom.

It may not cement it to becoming canon, but something like that would play a big part in NS im sure, its just to random to not have an impact on NS

I understand. But I believe it should not play a big part at all.

Kishi isn't really the only author guilty of this, and I guess he just wanted to keep things simplistic between Minato and Kushina since he only used one chapter to explain how she fell in love.
Although if I remember correctly Kushina said she feel in love with Minato because while he carried her after the rescue she saw him as a splendid ninja that could make her dreams come true. I think him liking her hair was just the icing on the cake.
Still, I do hope that people don't actually put realistic expectation in the romance drama of this story. Kishi simply writes about the importance of love, he's not giving dating advice.

You do know I was joking right.... LOL It's in reference to your comment about Kushina and Minato.

It's not like Kushina fell in love with Minato just because he liked her hair. Thanks to him rescuing her she saw him as a splendid ninja and the hair part simply pushed her further.
If Naruto compliments Sakura's forehead she might find it very sweet and even blush a little, but I'm sure that the moment she falls in love with Naruto will involve something else that's more significant.

Agreed. And with Naruto and Sakura, of course it won't play a huge part given she could possibly already have feelings for him now.

I think that was the tipping point where she saw him as a romantic partner (I can't explain it well, but you know those cliche times where you don't really see someone as a viable partner for various reasons, but something might make you realize that they are?)
Starting from then on, she gained respect for him, she gained a crush on him, and you know, in some cases, some people think a crush IS love.
Personally, I think crush is a baby version of love that grows into true love after interacting with your crush and getting to know them (though, that crush can easily be 'crushed' by getting to know they, pun only slightly intended) When Kushina said she fell in love with him then, that's what I feel she meant. It wasn't just about her hair, he saved her.

The hair is what brought them together. It was the hair that had majority of the impact on Kushina falling in love with Minato. That is what Kishi made it seem like. I do put a certain amount of expectations in the romance of this story. Rejection, realization, and acceptance, it all better be damn logical.
Oh, I know!
O rly?
Kushina - "And more importantly, he changed me. This plain red hair that I'd always hated had brought me my soulmate... It became the red thread of destiny to me. And ever since then I've liked my hair... And that was when I fell in love with Minato."
Compliment hair > Rescuing and splendid ninja.
I hope so.

Minato changed me
10 seconds later...
I love Minato.
Not really that much of a difference.

"And ever since then I've liked my hair" <--- that came first. She probably meant later on after the rescue that she learned to like it, not immediately like that. She would have realized after the rescue that it was the same hair that she hated that, basically, allowed Minato to save her. And it was with that new admiration of her hair that the falling in love part came along. Not 10 seconds later.
