It's also the same guy that made us love the characters and the story so much we are having dabates about it every day. 
I know he screws up sometimes with how he handles things, however, he is good in one thing, and that is foreshadowing. Chatte's being a great example how to read his manga. She's been right on a lot of occations because she is able to see the connections.
Foreshadowing is what NH and SS lacks, but both NS got plenty of it. If Kishi went this far with his crazy "rebirth of Ishura and the other brother" thing or the most obvious "Tobi=Obito", he surely won't let NS foreshadowing pass. Sometimes we act like the other fandoms and let one thing destroy everything else, although it doesn't make freaking sense. He must've go back to his manga more then once when he conludes events like "I hate you" to "I really like/love you" and stuff like that. He knows what he did, and just because it's about a pairing, he won't stop there. 
So yeah, maybe for him Love doesn't really need a reason and he wished to explain why Team 7 still feels so connected to Sasuke. They all love him in one way, although they had enough reasons not to.
