Are those good? I don't know what anime films gross but to me those numbers seem really pedestrian.

 

For an anime film in foreign markets, it's not bad. I actually read a projected estimate for TL's earnings on tumblr that could reach into the $3,000,000 range.

Looool. He wrote it? Ahahahhaa what a good joke! The ones who gave him the award prbly didn't heard about his manga being written by popularity polls and editors. Kishi's thete just to draw, lol!

It sounds like an award he would have won at the end of his first year of writing, it really doesn't make much sense for him to get it now since he's anything but a newcomer.

If you're talking about foreign as in all around, hm, maybe. I know South Korea is dying out so I think it will hit max 400,000. It's amazing that all the places they go isn't listed for the last one, so you can definitely tell that they're aiming at a lot of places. It's not like before. In any case, I'm just wondering if USA will show DBZ next movie, so I can preorder with my friends and girlfriend.

Technically he is in terms of work. Naruto is his only work that has been serialized, so it's the reason why he got it. Not only it's his first, but it lasted for 15 years, so it's a new coming work that just waited to end.

The worst part about bad endings is how they suck any desire I have to rewatch or reread old stuff. Just caught a classic HIMYM episode that I have no desire to watch because of the ending. I feel the same way with Naruto. So many great moments I have no desire to relive.

That's what my friend said, she said they probably didn't read the ending and just picked him since no knows if he was going against someone

Hmm. I guess that makes some sense. I don't really think it's that big of a deal though. Almost like a "You managed to keep your work going for a long time, cool story". Doesn't seem like there's really much merit behind it.

I read other one-shot and many of them has a sense of purpose despite the characteristics and designs more or less being different. The premise is there and all. I can't help but think that because he only has Naruto, everything else is just pure add-on. DLC. I should have seen this coming.

If you remember though he made that scene anticlimactic. Naruto never acknowledged that Sakura gave him cpr and it was never addressed again. Karin didn't actually get to heal Sasuke and he had immediately left taka after the fact. The volume cover which should have been focused on this moment had a Gai/Lee cover even though that content was only focused on in one added chapter before the volume released. To make it worse Kishi then moved onto lame SS drama.

It was Kishi trolling in the worst way, imo.

 

 

It was actually right after the CPR scene that I started to have serious doubts about the manga and where Kishimoto was going with it. Not that I didn't have problems before, but the way he completely failed to follow up on the whole thing felt really wrong to me and don't even get me started on all that crap with the Sage. The manga was off track way before all that, but that was the point where it really became evident, at least for me. I guess that might be part of why I wasn't totally surprised by the ending, although of course I didn't expect it to be nearly as bad as it actually ended up.

This place used to have two sides of fandom. One was for believing in him and the other was there to see it end and get on with others. So yeah, the believers lost.

oh God, then this award isn't for him but for all the SJ editors who wrote that story...he just drew it apparently ! He deserves the award of the most stupid and bad author of all times !
