Not to get anyone's hopes up, but there is a rumor going around that she'll return like 15-20 episodes into Sun and Moon, and.. (I know Phantom will be happy if this ends up being true) Greninja coming in Sun and Moon as well.

I'm gonna take it with a grain of salt at this point in time, but man it would be amazing if they both come back at some point in sun and moon, whether it's a cameo or permanent return.

No, the cop out is that the writers don't want to change the Mascot's design that's why they have Pikachu adamantly refusing to evolve
