It's a curse? Were game adaptations bad in the past?

There was an anime about the game Blazblue. And during the episode preview one of the characters says that they hope the game to anime curse doesn't affect them :fu: From my experience it is bad.

Nahh Ufotable did Symphonia and it turned out great with the animation too, sure it did some changes, but it gave focus to everyone and actually put attacks from the game, I think Ufotable did another game too plus its doing Fate which is a visual novel, so I trust it lol Blazblue though...
