Yes, I highly recommend this series. the plot is executed in such a brilliant way and there are many unexpected twists and turns (EPISODE 5 I'M LOOKING AT YOU). The author is certainly not afraid to kill important characters off. Humanity's struggle against the Titans is well-displayed and evokes the feeling of desperation into it's readers. It's a strong series DEFINITELY worth watching. When you have the time, give it a chance. 

Also, you do kind of have to watch the series to understand Eren and Mikasa's relationship in its entirety. they both have saved each other numerous times and in many ways. The reason as to why Mikasa wears the red scarf is just touching. They've been through a lot together and their past is very interesting. It shaped Mikasa into what she is and how she became to be who she is now.

I contemplated watching Attack on Titan, but I heard, and seen that it's really gorey.  How bad is the gore factor on a scale of 1 - 10?  Elfen Lied is one show I will never watch because of the gore. . . and it's creepiness, but also the gore.

Reading the manga instead is a good idea. The whole series was practically spoiled for me because people on Tumblr weren't tagging their manga spoilers. not only that, but they anime is on a break right now (not sure how long). At first I was iffy about watching it, but after curiosity got the best of me and I ended up watching it, I was NOT disappointed. It lives up to its hype.

 

And agreed. Haha.

It's certainly not NEARLY as gorey as Elfen Lied. If you can handle Elfen Lied, you can handle this. Some of it's censored in a clever way as well so you don't see TOO much. You see just the right amount.

Interesting. Using the live series tactic: no one is safe tactic. I like that. It's been a long time, watching/reading a war based anime/manga. I mean it was like non-existence for a while. Not even Gundam do it anymore, which that actually bothered me. The thing is I like war genre because you can actually get so many genres in one and it's always expected a sad moment. That and underdog always get me.

You're right about the relationship. You have to see it to understand it. People would only give you the gist and even if it's explained, you got to see how it's done. I forgot what show but long time ago I read the summary and thought it will be touching, but I got the opposite probably because I didn't know a love triangle as in forcing you to feel confused. Anyway, yeah. Definitely going to check it out.

Not sure. I remember that anime. I was stunned that one character felt like a named character, until her head came out. Yeah. Fun fact: that is my evidence that back then, NejiHina could happen because hey, it works in that show, why not elsewhere.

I tried to not give any spoilers which is why I didn't mention the name of the couple at all. It was mentioned afterwards so there was no point anymore. But yeah the show has gore but just the right amount.

Yes I like this genre to, especially if it's done properly. These types of shows certainly do well at evoking emotion from its audience and keeping you at the edge of your seat. My favorite American show of this genre is the Walking Dead. Good, I hope you enjoy the series when you have a chance to check it out!

The anime has finished airing just recently. It's taking a break (probably to allow the manga to get further ahead) and will resume most likely next year. It's 25 episodes.

That was a kitten move, but tbh I don't think they're canon yet. Maybe because of my bs, I'm not completely shipping them. But I still think it's too early to say.

The game was right in the feels rollercoaster. Though in the show, when they get to those moments, then it's all good. Now, seems like mentally is part of a challenge. But yes, I will watch it soon.

Well it's funny because on the official AoT volume, it states how AoT is like Japan's version of the Walking Dead haha. Yeah Walking Dead is more about survival and not as action packed as AoT (at least in my opiion). However, the governor arc really intensified the show and spruced up the action in a way. I like how it's not only zombies they have to worry about now. Which arc was season three again? Was that the farm arc?

For the record, if you're only going by first episode of Elfen Lied, then just to let you know, it's not 24/7 gorefest. Though we do have that flashback. A really lack of better word, ballsy moment.
